“Mexican in Germany....Yum”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

Was visiting in Germany and came upon Tortuga. The first day they were closed and the second time we were told that we would have to eat within an hour because they had a large party coming in. The food came out fast thankfully so we were able to eat at a reasonable pace. The food was excellent and actually better than Mexican places I have tried in the US. Overall experience was good and would go back again if I was to visit.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

I was definitely not impressed with the food nor the price. The rice looks to be from the prepared packages sold at the commissary; it had neither the color nor textures of Mexican rice, and the refried beans lacked color and flavor. My husband ordered the peach tea; he paid 2,90 euro for a glass when he could have bought a huge bottle at the commissary for $0.99. Not a single thing was homemade; you can buy everything at the commissary and make your own Tex-Mex / Mexican food at home for much less. If you do not like to cook, then go to Taco Bell, which sells the same food at a much affordable price. We were definitely not impressed.

It is unfortunate that we didn't hit your taste when you visited our Restaurant. To be sure, everything, including our rice, beans, enchilada sauce, salsa, guacamole, pico de gallo, and white queso are made from scratch on a daily basis. Our cuts of beef, pork, chicken, are purchased from a local butcher and are prepared and cooked fresh.
If you like, feel free to contact me via Facebook, since I would like to invite you to our kitchen and show you how we prepare our homemade food.

“Best Mexican in Bavaria”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Huge portions, fantastic flavor. Better than most Mexican restaurants in America (possible exception in the SW U.S). Get the tacos and muchos nachos for an appetizer.

“The Best of Its Kind in GERMANY!!!!!”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

This place is awesome. I am a person who is born in the Caribbean and half raised in Texas. So naturally the flavor used in the food hit home. The meat is thoroughly marinated to perfection. You can literally taste the tex-mex love placed in food as you are eating it. The first time I ate there I had to call out the cook to thank him for such delightful food. The crazy part is that the owner remembered who I was almost four years later. The surf and turf fajitas are great. The mixed drinks are always balanced just right. The atmosphere is relaxing. I find the mood from a lot of restaurants in Germany very uptight. The mood that place gives off is very chill.Good food, drinks, great service, decent priced, and wonderful atmosphere. What more could a customer ask for?
