“Wanna get away from it all?Look no further!”
Reviewed October 8, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have spent a week at ´el secreto ´. The location is 10 min down a well maintained gravel road but it feels like (in a positive sense) in the middle of nowhere which gives one a feeling of freedom. But despite the remote location you are in beautiful Vejer or the beaches within 20-25 minutes.
The size of the house is impressive and its warm and welcoming. The master bathroom is nothing less than spectacular!
The roof terrace wasnt really usable due to the lack of suitable furniture´and after a long, boiling andalusian summer the grass of the pool area has suffered slightly of course, but we didn´t really mind .
We did a lot of BBqs but started already in daylight as ,at the end of summer, there were lots of little flies around.Typical for that season..
There is a tiny tiny shop ,another 15min down a gravel road for all the basics but (apart from vejer of course),next door Benalup(20min) has 2 supermarkets and while there,we can highly recommend the restaurant ´´La fabrica``. A beautiful restaurant, with fantastic food in a nice setting and amazing value for money.
Emily and Pierre were easy and very friendy. Once we had a problem with the generator which has to be turned on for Hairdryers, the washing machine ect.. so I wrote a message to Pierre and within less than an hour, someone came to fix it!
So in short: if you are looking for a super quiet spacious get away, this is the place to be.As we dont mind a 20 min drive to go to restaurants we might be back.
Oh...and even though you don´t have to...but get ready to adopt the friendliest little dog in the world while you are there.

“Tranquilty at its best”
Reviewed September 10, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here for a week at the end of August/1st week of September and had the most relaxing week ever. If you want great weather and just want to relax in the sun with no interruption from anybody then this is an ideal place for you...we loved it.

The towns of Vejer and Medina Sidonia are just 10-15 minutes away and were ideal for meals out ( if you don't fancy cooking)and shopping. We also visited the Andalucian Equestrian Centre in Jerez which was a good day out but other than that we just enjoyed the house and the pool and stayed put.

Emily was very welcoming and helpful and Pepe was there to meet us (but just be aware you need a few words of Spanish as Pepe speaks no English), which was great as we might have struggled to find the house because it is off the beaten track, which of course adds to the tranquilty of the place.

There is a lovely little unexpected surprise that really made our week and made it a home from home for us, but I wont spoil it for anybody and we just hope you find it as enjoyable and beautiful as we did. Please cherish this...as it real is lovely.

We'll be back for sure.

“Lovely!”
Reviewed August 13, 2014 for a stay in October 2013

We had a great stay at this villa in Andalusia! We would definitely go again. The area is soooo quiet, perfect for doing nothing (although there is a lot to do if you want to)! Emily and her boyfriend are also really relaxed and have great tips for restaurants and other go-to's in the area. The house is big, and has a great vibe to it! Swimming pool was nice and the kitchen was perfect. I was in doubt whether I would give it 4 or 5 stars, however due to some little unfinished construction work and some issue with hot water I give it 4 out of 5 (although it wouldn't surprise me if this is not accurate anymore and deserves even 5 stars). Sometimes I just wish I would live there permenantly... :-)

“Beautiful house in a beautiful spot”
Reviewed June 29, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We had an amazing 5 days at casa tranquila. it's positioned in the hills 20mins from Vejer- and it is perfectly peaceful, all you could here was the occasional tractor and hum from the wind turbine. There a fantastic views and sunbathes from the rooftop. The house is even nicer than the photos, with an amazing kitchen, terrace, living room and indulgent bathroom. Great access to vejer and the coast, not that we did much more than hang out at the house as it was so fabulous. The pool was lovely and a perfect temperature. the service from Emily, Pierre and Pepe was very responsive as soon as we had any queries or problems. you won't find a more ideal place if you are looking for a peaceful retreat in the Andalusian hills with great access to the local area. we hope to go back one day!

“Andalusia's best kept secret”
Reviewed May 27, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

As a small group of girls we were looking for a villa rental in a tranquil setting in the Andalusian countryside. We found Casa Tranquila online and quite frankly thought it seemed too good to be true. It's hard to believe that not only did it live up to expectations but exceeded them in more ways than one.

Driving down a small country lane through fields of sunflowers, we reached the gates of Casa Tranquila and caught our first glimpse of this enchanting Andalusian villa. The front door opens into a spacious, modern kitchen and dining room that retains all the rusticity of the old farm that it once was. The interior is warm and welcoming, reflective of our host, Emily, who left us a welcome basket of local and fresh produce to enjoy on our first evening.

Emily's attention to detail became more and more apparent as we explored the house further, be it the hand-picked flowers left on the bedding throughout the house or the elegantly laid table ready for our first meal, as we looked forward to what else our stay in Casa Tranquila would bring.

The pool area overlooks the surrounding acres of farmland and was the perfect place to enjoy the Andalusian sun and unwind in this peaceful location. We barely heard a sound all weekend, and it made for the ideal getaway to relax and recharge our batteries.

The house offers everything you could need, from well-stocked kitchen cupboards to an extensive DVD and book collection. It would have been easy to stay in house for the whole trip, but we ventured out to explore the nearby white villages. Vejer de la Frontera is well worth a visit; we enjoyed the sunset and a cocktail before a fabulous Moroccan meal at Jardin del Califa. We'd also recommend giving surfing a try at El Palmar beach, renowned for its great waves and bohemian cafes and bars.

All in all we don't have a bad word to say about Casa Tranquila, and is a complete credit to Emily's hard work and finesse. Thanks for making it such a memorable trip and we hope to return in the future!
