“Top Class Food at Historic Country Pub”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

On Valentine’s night we were part of a group that had booked a seven course "Taster Menu" at the Old Chestnut Tree Inn. The food, service and hospitality astounded us all.

Every course was exquisite and imaginative. The chef, management and staff are to be complimented on providing us with a truly inspirational and enjoyable evening.

“All you would want from a country pub”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

I have just returned from a weekend away in Worcestershire with some friends, and I have to say that our meal at The Old Chestnut Tree was fantastic. We popped in just before lunch service stopped (5 minutes to spare!) and were greeted warmly into this snug country pub. We ordered and our food arrived within about 10 minutes - speedy service and a very helpful waitress. I had the large fish and chips, the fish was beautifully cooked and the batter perfectly crisp. Good chunky chips were on the side with a healthy portion of what tasted like homemade tartar sauce. Delicious. My friends opted for the local ham, sausages (from the butcher down the road) and a goats' cheese salad, all of which were delicious. The ham was some of the finest I have ever tasted. Friendly service, excellent food, all washed down with a pint of Malvern bitter. I'd try to complain about something, but when a place is this good it deserves all the praise I can give. This place is all a pub should be, and long may it continue.

“Simply the best cheese board I've ever had!”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

We have had the pleasure of eating at this wonderful pub on several occasions and without fail every meal has been delicious. This evening we had pan hock terrine that was so delicious, followed by rib eye steak that melted in the mouth with home made onion rings and chips yum! And the the single most amazing cheese board I've ever eaten! It's was a delightful blend of excellent quality cheeses.
I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful friendly pub, the staff and owners are really very charming, the locals are more than friendly and welcoming and this pub has become a firm fav of ours, anyone that doesn't enjoy their evening here is quit simply insane.
With best wishes and thanks for a wonderful evening Sarah and Peter :-)
