Beautiful setting overlooking hills toward the Pacific and Las Lajas beach. Impressive building and grounds with private, well-appointed suite. Our host, Uwe, had thought of everything--comfortable bed, a/c, refrigerator, high ceilings with fan, and lovely outdoor setting for breakfast with a perfectly-placed umbrella shade to cope with the rising sun. Good directions provided, ample parking, secure, and delicious breakfast.. Exclusive-feeling retreat ahead of the public beach scene.

We stayed here in December for 3 nights and loved it. The rooms are great, spacious and very clean! Very nice breakfast in the morning on the patio. The owners will make sure you have a excellent stay, nothing is too much for them! We arrived on Christmas eve and Uwe prepared a delicious meal for us and some other guests. I certainly recommend doing the tour to the mountains to meet the indigenous people. This was one our highlights in Panama! When we left we asked Uwe for some help with the bus to Panama, at used to happen that they were going to Panama City on the same day and offered us a ride. What a service!

We stayed here at the end of our trip, on our way back to Panama City. Unfortunately (and I genuinely mean that) we only had one night here: I deeply regret this! At LEAST two nights is preferable, to fully soak in and appreciate the serene gorgeousness that Uwe and Berit have created here. Words and photographs cannot adequately describe the views, the peacefulness, the calm, and the little piece of delight that is this property.

You are close enough to Las Lajas beach: approximately 10 minutes on an equally beautiful drive through farms, trees, and bird-inhabited wetlands. We saw some of the other Las Lajas B&Bs on the road to the beach and am confident we chose the best place with Finca Buena Vista.

Uwe was a fabulous host, and so welcoming. As was his fantastic dog, Balu! We had the famous goulash which was, as others have raved, delicious. Uwe was also kindly accommodating when we asked if he had anything else he could make us, as we were hungry. We had some German meat with egg and toast that was so good! I will say in hindsight, though, that although we loved the extra food, the goulash was in itself quite filling and would have sufficed as a meal. We also had some drinks: the Caipri Sour (or some such spelling?) was incredibly tasty. Breakfast delivered to our patio in the morning was beautifully prepared and good. The girl who brought us our food (Mila, I think) was delightful.

The rooms are clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated with everything you need - including a fridge with cold drinks for $1.00 each. The rooms have air conditioning if you want to use it, or screened windows to open if you prefer to hear the creatures of the night.

I do hope we can get back to Panama one day as I'd love to spend more time at this beautiful place.

(p.s.: if you are wavering on whether to visit Las Lajas beach: DO IT!! I've been around the world, and this is truly one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen; and the water is divine for swimming!)

Room Tip: All rooms have amazing views; I don't think you can go wrong.

My husband and I have stayed for 4 days on our 1st visit to panama. We cannot rate highly enough, beautiful people, cannot do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble, we even shared Christmas dinner on Christmas eve and were invited to join them on the beach with local residents for a lovely get together. The rooms are lovely, the whole place is wonderful, well presented, amazing views, tranquil, all you can hear is the sounds of nature! Breakfast is amazing with lovely fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, eggs, cold meats and cheese, juice, fresh bread the list goes on! The beach is a short drive away and is equally as beautiful, miles of unspoilt beach, peaceful and fun to swim! The delphin bar is fab to eat at and also a lovely part of the beach. We will be back!

Room Tip: All 4 rooms have a terrace where you are served breakfast every morning, all have amazing views!

We stayed here 2 nights on our way to Boquete. This B&B (4 rooms) is a few blocks from the main town on a dirt road (passable w/o a 4-wheel drive in rainy November) on a hill with beautiful views. The rooms were large and very pretty, with a covered patio in front of each room looking out over the hills We would sit there in the mornings for coffee and breakfast and watch the large flocks of noisy green parrots fly by. The breakfasts are very generous - eggs, bread, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, juice and coffee. Uwe and Berit have delicious goulash available all day for $3.50 a bowl. There is an above ground pool on site and a covered ranchito with hammocks for relaxing. Mila, Uwe and Berit's housekeeper is very sweet and bent over backwards to make us feel at home. We were looking for a place where we had made reservations for dinner, and having trouble finding it in the dark on our way back after our day trip. Uwe went out of his way to show us the way in his own vehicle (with us following him). Berit is also a masseuse and you can book a massage with her. The hotel is about 8 km from Las Lajas Beach, a very long and wide cocoa-sand beach. We were there on a Tuesday and it was practically deserted except for a bunch of kids playing soccer in front of Casa Laguna. The town itself is very sleepy and low key - not much to do there, especially at night, but the area is changing with new bed and breakfasts and restaurants starting to pop up both on the beach and in town. The hotel had satellite TV (Spanish language channels only) but it wasn't working during our stay. The wifi worked great. Uwe can help arrange day trips, however, and provide advice. We took a day trip to Boca Chica (about 1 hr 15 min away) where we hired a local water taxi to take us out to Los Bolanos Island, where we had the gorgeous white-sand beach and island all to ourselves.

Highly recommended

Room Tip: There are four rooms in two separate buildings. Two of the have higher ceilings and we understand they can accommodate kids. Our room, closest to the main building was huge and nicely appointed, The AC worked great, we only wished it (and the patio) had ceiling fans, which may have made the AC unnecessary at night.
