Location and service more than make up for the standard fare of this restaurant. Located on the very important road running from Siena down towards Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni, Pienza e Montepulciano, this restaurant is situated in a bit of land between the main road and the new highway that's being built. It is connected to a hotel (where of course we haven't stayed, being local!), which may be an important bit of information for your planning.
We've been here three times now, with last night being the most recent, and the food has always been good but average. That's not a disadvantage, mind you: if you enjoy roast chicken and straightforward t-bone steaks (bistecca alla fiorentina), they'll give it to you, and with good service, too. And they substituted the standard roast potatoes with a lovely serving of grilled veggies with no objections.
The house wine we drank last night was adequate, but in the past we splurged for a bottle of better wine, a solution I suggest to wine lovers. The interior is pretty, well-kept and cozy. Prices average and good value for money. We'd certainly return.
