“Full of French character”

Absolutley loved this rural French courtyard Hotel. It was full of character with its beautiful stone building and blue shutters. . We had a very spacious bedroom which overlooked the courtyard. The owners were very helpful and friendly and as we were on a cycling holiday we appreciated the warm welcome after a days cycling. We enjoyed a great meal and some local wine in the courtyard restaurant. We would love to stay here again

The moment you walk through the gate and into the courtyard of the Bastide Bleue, you can't help yourself from smiling. Why? Because you realize that you've finally found it - exactly what you were looking for in Provence - the charming, intimate ambiance, the flowers and herbs and colors, the small and cozy auberge - it's all there and ...... ideally located at the foot of Séguret, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Warm and lovely, like the South, it remains unpretentious with very affordable prices, both for the small hotel (7 rooms, each with different Provençal décor), its beautifully landscaped refreshing pool and the restaurant. In the summer, you can enjoy a delicious meal outside on the enchanting terrace. The indoor restaurant is delightfully furnished and inviting with its burning fireplace in the winter. Try the "Bastidon de chèvre" and the Domaine de Mourchon wines - you won't regret it! The views of the village (within walking distance) are amazing. Dolores and Philippe, the owners, are lovely people, both gracious and efficient. Want to feel like you are really in Provence? appreciate good service and a magical setting? Then treat yourself (without the high price tag) to the captivating Bastide Bleue.

We enjoyed a three night stay here in June 2012. The rooms are lovely and spacious. Our rooms were above the courtyard, which is an ideal place to eat on a warm evening. The food was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The only thing I would say is that the menu remained pretting much the same on each day, a choice of 3/4 items on each course, with only one or two changing so that to stay any longer you would have been a bit too repetitive. Having said that the food was very good. The owner did not speak French but we go by with our limited French. He was helpful and friendly. The location is lovely. Great place to go for walks.

Room Tip: There are road works going on at the moment so you may get woken up at 7am during the week if you ar...

This inn was lovely. The room we had overlooked the country road with vineyards across the street. The patio was lovely although it was a bit chilly at night at the end of March. The room was big and comfortable. The highlight of the stay was the excellent dinner we had the first night. This hotel was arranged for us by the bicycle company who organized our self guided tour through the Provence region. Likely because it was off season, we biked to nearby Sablet to find an open restuarant the night that Bastide Bleu's dining room was closed.

Our room was very nice with windows facing both the restaurant courtyard and a country lane. We had a full size bed, plenty of closet space, and a bathroom with a walk in shower. We asked for a hair drier in the morning and the owners gladly shared one with us. The hotel is within a gated stone wall with convenient parking just out back. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant for diner, but the menu looked very good, and we were told the food was wonderful. We did have the small breakfast which was baguette, croissant, jam, juice and coffee for 6 Euros. We'd stay here again on a return trip.

Room Tip: Our room faced a country lane. It was very quiet. Other rooms faced the hotel/restaurant patio court...

We've eaten in this (what I would call a restaurant with rooms) several times when in this area of Provence. I've always wanted to stay. We did this year and were not disappointed. If looking for the 'real France' this is for you because, although unsophisticated, the food, service and accommodation are very good and certainly good value for money. The bonus was it had a seculded swimming pool, ideal for the hot Provence afternoons. You are in the heart of an area which boasts good (still affordable) French wine if you take the trouble to do some research beforehand. Most domains treat you with courtesy and generosity. Certainly the better ones do. If sightseeing you are in striking distance of Avignon, Orange and Vaison La Romaine. We'll be back.

Room Tip: They all appear good.

I stayed for two nights at La Bastide Bleue this year having stayed there 2 years ago. I really love this hotel. This time, I had originally booked for the Monday and Tuesday but later changed by e-mail to the Tuesday and Wednesday - en route on Tuesday I phoned ahead to book dinner only to discover that they had been expecting us the day before - the change to the dates had never been noted in the calendar! No problem whatsoever however, the lady immediately apologised and, as they were full on Wednesday, booked a room for us in a chambre d'hote (B & B) just around the corner which was perfect. In La Bastide Bleue, our room was wonderful, very big with two double beds and very charming. We ate in the courtyard restaurant both nights and the food was exceptional - €27 for 3 courses of wonderful Provencal food. M and Mme Allard are very friendly and charming. I don't know about their level of English as I always communicate with them in French. I will definitely visit La Bastide Bleue again, without hesitation
