“Fantastic in every aspect”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

The food was delicious, and the choice of ingredients plus the presentation of the dishes show the chef's creative skills. Service was also excellent. The location and the view from the terrace are simply stunning.

“Fantastic Food, Beautiful Presentation, Great View”

Delicious dishes beautifully and creatively presented. The tomato gelatin served in a fish bowl with salad on top was spectacular. Delicious dishes, excellent service, good wine, beautiful view, A wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

“wonderful restaurant, exceptional views”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Fantastic panoramic views from the terrace of this wonderful restaurant set in the heart of this beautiful village. Helpful and discrete staff, artistically presented , tasty food. We felt the price, that some have mentioned, reflected fairly the standard of the menu. A great place to stop for lunch.

“Beautiful view; beautiful food.”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

The views from the open-air (but covered) terrace are breathtaking and the atmosphere on a mid-summer evening was so romantic. Set in one of the Plus Beaux Villages of France and hidden within the narrow streets of the old village. Parking is remote from the restaurant, but there is plenty of it, it's free, and the short walk to the restaurant through the twisty and narrow streets of the old village was a real pleasure. We were offered a choice of 3 set menus but there is also a la carte if you want to mix-and-match. For the €45 menu we had smoked salmon, scallops and a super-indulgent chocolate dessert, together with an amuse-bouche and sorbet between courses. Plus, of course, a never-ending supply of home-made bread. The wine list was excellent, most of it locally sourced. But this was food with a difference - the presentation was a work of art in itself and it seemed a pity to eat it. However, the quantity was enough, the taste was delicious and the food was beautifully cooked with a flair that only the French seem capable of. We dined in the evening and it was a superb experience. The service was attentive, unobtrusive, and excellent - the French do seem to take their "service" seriously and do it with pride. As with most restaurants in France, le Mesclun is dog-friendly (indeed positively dog-welcoming - British "restaurants" please take note!). We had not booked and were lucky to get a table in the evening - reservation recommended. For a special romantic evening dining experience Le Mesclun is very highly recommended.
