“Extremely dangerous, can cause death.”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

i have lost a friend here. He drowned in this lake as there no fences or even proper sign boards or markings. Please do not visit it. Even if you do, do not try to even get close to touching the water.

“Environment degraded”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

IT is a beautiful mostly dried out lake surrounded by ARAVALLIS MOUNTAINS The place is very picturesque and it is worth going .T he place is bit isolated and there is almost no crowds .Its very near to Delhi[10 min.] away so,it IS A GOOD RELAXING PLACE ,BUT ONLY DURING SUNNY DAYS IN WINTER.Summer is terrible as temp goes 45 degree cen. and nobody is here.It has lost its charm due to too much mining by the govt.of HARYANA as environment like word is not in their dictionary,Other example is nearby BADKAL LAKE which has totally dried up.
The best time to go to this place is 1-15 FEB. as this is the time of SURAJKUND MELA,which is undoubtedly the best fair of INDIA and probably one of the best in world .

“Good heritage site but need better upkeep”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Its a very nice and peaceful site but poorly maintained. It looks like that authorities take care of this area only during the famous craft fair but after that no body cares for that. Its a heritage site and should be properly maintained throughout year.

“Dilapidated ruins”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

Alongwith the dried up Badkhal lake the Surajkund has also lost its glory. The only good thing that now happens here is the annual Surajkund Crafts Mela from 1st to 15th Feb every year.

“Pathetic Service”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

service and food was over priced. Not a single stewerd to look after. The stewerd had no idea when to change plates, did not serve food to guests, could not refill drinks, would send one or another but no one person was serving.
