Where do we start...............? First of all, from the day we made an initial inquiry for the house the contact with Anne-Marie and Michael was extremely easy, quick and very personal. The arrival package (card, wine, goodies) was very welcoming, as was the fridge and cupboards full of surprises. The house was not only large but spacious giving you the ability to be sociable but also room to lose yourself from others! The children made full use of the games room and the go-kart in the garage provided entertainment for all. The downstairs double bedroom has an en-suite wet room that could accommodate a small house! The house was spotless and the quantities of toilet rolls and toiletries meant that we didn't need to buy any extra during our two week stay. Every bedroom was large and they all had en-suite facilities plus ample storage for clothes and suitcases. The kitchen/dining room made an ideal location when we invited the extended family to the house to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The quantities of kitchen equipment ensured that we were able to supply enough food to satisfy Irish appetites! The location is fantastic and my wife was able to see her favourite mountain (Nephin) every day. The highlight of the holiday according to the children (5 and 9 years old) was the 1 mile walk home from the Dolphin in Crossmolina after a very enjoyable meal (plus Guinness for the adults). The rabbits/hares that appeared in the garden every morning were enjoyed by the children. After fabulous days out exploring the beautiful and stunning west coast of Ireland (Ballycastle, Down Patrick Head, Galway, Westport, Enniscrone, Foxford and Pontoon) there was nothing better than returning to our home from home to a roaring turf fire. This was a fantastic holiday with friends and family made all the better by the fantastic accommodation and facilities. Thank you Anne-Marie and Michael, we will return.
My extended family and I had a wonderful stay at this spacious, well-equipped house for one week. It is in a lovely quiet location, yet close to the town with several shops, bars, etc. So much inspiration is provided for day trips and even if the weather is not suitable, there's lots to do indoors, including a pool table, cards and games, netflix etc. The house is extremely comfortable and we all had wonderful sleep. There's everything you could need and more in the kitchen if you are dining in as we did on many evenings. Our host maintained excellent communications before and during our stay and check-in/check-out was easy and hassle free. Recommended without hesitation.
Based in Crossmolina, with a view of Mount Nephin was perfect for our holiday in Co. Mayo. Croagh Patrick, Lough Conn,Downpatrick Head and the stunning Achill Island are all worth a visit.
The house is in a rural location full of wildlife, but close to the town with its amenities and friendly people. The spacious house was ideal for our family of grandparents, parents and children, allowing us space to come together or retreat if we wanted! A beautiful property The owners have thought of absolutely everything, the essentials to extras such as a bag packed for the beach, plates etc for picnics, washing powder, a basket of toiletries, the playroom and garage stacked with things to do for all ages. A wonderful holiday, a beautiful location and the perfect accomodation.
Fantastic week enjoyed at Michael and Anne-Marie’s House in Crossmolina!
We had 13 in our group, 6 adults and the rest children with a big age range.
The house was spotless and so much more spacious than the pictures show. Lovely comfy beds warm cosy lounges and a large dinning table. We squeezed 13 round the table.
We were all overwhelmed by such a well equipped house. It really did have everything you could think of.
It worked brilliantly well for us with each couple having their own spacious room with on suite bathroom and the children sharing with their own bathroom too.
The games room, multiple TVs, games and garden kept all the children happily entertained for the times we were at home and not exploring or just wanted a quite moment.
The house is full of thoughtful little features like providing shampoo, condition etc, hair straighteners, dryers, plenty of towels so that if your flying over you can pack very light. Also the washer and dryer for clothes were great and easy to use.
Along with this there are portable speakers and other devices so that you can enjoy music around the house. The WiFi worked well and was no problem for multiple users along with running the internet tv.
Loads of hot water for showers and a great space for cooking. We cooked several times for the 13 of us. There are ample pots, pans, plates, etc along with Tupperware and ice packs if you want to take sandwiches, wraps etc out for lunch. Also worth mentioning two slow cookers if you wanted to prep a meal for your return in the evening.
We loved the area and found it very easy to travel around from here. Several very good shops 2 min drive Or a 10 min walk. Also several pubs and a couple of takeaways.
If you drive 20mins to Ballina two big Lidl and a Tesco along with loads or restaurants and pubs.
We would strongly recommend the broken jug pub and Dillon’s bar and restaurant.
All in all a Superb week!! It far exceeded our expectations. Would love to stay again and strongly recommend.
Spent a week here in June. The house is amazing. It definitely has a luxury feel to it. Even on the wettest of days you don't mind staying in- quite happy to chill out by the peat fire or in the sunroom. Visited the beach in Enniscrone...so quiet. A perfect place to surf (or at least watch the kids do it :)) Talking of kids..... the playroom is great. Peace & quiet.... for a little while anyway :) Even did some baking in the huge kitchen. Would definitely recommend it to other families & will absolutely be booking again.
