La Rocca dei Briganti
Ranked #37 of 58 Manciano B&B and Inns
Reviewed September 17, 2013

We spent at Rocca dei Briganti our holiday with the kids, in the beginning of August. It is a very beautiful place among the hills, with great places to visit around and great people. Our kids had lots and lots of fun just running around playing with other children and swimming in the pool. They also enjoyed playing with the dogs, going fishing to the lake and watching the horses. The apartment was very very nice, clean, and comfortable. In the evenings, we would just sit outside, on the terrace, enjoying the view and the tranquility.
The sea is a half-an hour drive, but it is worth getting there. We got to visit the Giglio island for the "falling stars" celebration, we also visited Florence and we even went to Rome with the kids (tip: go to Rome by train, no sense in driving there).
Overall, we had an amazing time and we would love to go back.

Just returned from a week at La Rocca dei Brigante. We stayed in the wild boar apartment which was upstairs and had a balcony running along the front of the house. We were able to sit and relax on the balcony or by the pool if we wanted to cool off.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and had most things we needed. The only drawback was that the apartment didn't have any comfortable loungers on the balcony, just wooden table and chairs. We were able to get more comfort by the lovely pool on the sunbeds there, though. The bedroom had a ceiling fan for air conditioning but it was good enough and we had very high temperatures reaching 37 degrees.
La Rocca is a working farm with vineyards, olive trees and horses. There was also a very friendly little dog who took us walks! The people running the holiday lets were very friendly and spoke English. They even supplied us with there own grapes and wine. The wine is very good.
The area around the apartment is very peaceful. The beach was a 40 minute drive but the roads are very quiet and it was a nice drive. You would definitely need a car because there are no shops nearby, Manciano was the nearest shop which was about 14km away.
There are not many English people in the area so it's an ideal place to experience true Italian life and get away from it all.

Room Tip: I don't think you would be disappointed with any of the rooms but the upstairs room with the bal...

It was our first trip to Tuscany and that were two weeks in paradise; the house is placed among beutiful hills in great vineyard. The place is very quiet an relaxing; apartments are good equipped and comfortable, the owner of property, Ricardo, is a very cordial man, he is always ready to help in anything.La Rocca Dei Briganti is a place really worth of recomendation.

This agriturismo was a highlight of our month-long travels in Italy. The pool and accommodations were wonderful; the animals on the farm were adorable, including a kitten and dog named Ya-Ya. A new foal had just been born. The apartment was nice to have. We paid around €100/night in June for a one bedroom apt. with kitchen and double sofa.

The owner, Riccardo, has built this agriturismo on his grandfather's property. He bottles his own wine which is delicious and upscale, as well as olive oil, which was sold out during our stay, so we could not taste it. Try his restaurant recommendations, including the restaurant just down the road.

The only disadvantage is that it is 10kmm from Manciano, deep in southern Tuscany/northern Lazio. Some people staying there were making day trips to Siena, which is crazy. The roads are very windy. We stayed at the pool, relaxed from busy traveling, and visited Pitigliano, the hot springs, and other hill towns nearby. We loved the quietude and peacefulness of the property, and would go back again.
