On arrival we were immediatly taken by the view, photographs just don't catch the beauty of it. We stayed here with two families with childeren ranging from 8 to 16. The pool, spacious garden and well-equiped, large home ensured everybody had enough to do all the time. We explored castles, went canoeing on the dordogne and visited pittoresque towns. A tip: have a drink with the owners, they have a grand knowledge of the regions history and know a lot of great places to visit, either with or without childeren.
This was a fantastic place to spend 2 weeks at the end of July. Stayed with 3 generations of the same family a total of 9. Loads of space, amazing bedrooms with very comfy beds. The outside space was perfect. Large sail over a huge outside table that was used daily. Table tennis on the patio every day alongside a cracking pool. The views from pool side across the valley to Belves are beautiful and worthy of just standing and admiring. Everything was geared towards a relaxing stay out of the way but close enough to not be isolated. The Belves evening feast was great. Our hosts were gracious and engaging making our stay more rewarding. Didn't want to leave and would revisit in a heartbeat.
What an amazing place - a truly magnificent view in a such a peaceful setting. The hosts Garry and Marie-Pierre gave us a very warm welcome and we left with wonderful memories. We can't recommend this highly enough!
What can I say? Great place, great hosts and a really peaceful place to enjoy a family holiday! Get in the pool to watch the sun go down to appreciate the place you are fortunate to stay in! 11 out of 10!!
Enjoyed a wonderful fall week in a spacious gite. The view is just wonderful, beautiful colors all day long.
Very quiet area but close to many things to visit and good food.
The house contains everything needed for a group, providing also privacy to all and enough space. Good Wifi connection.
Welcoming hosts, very helpful, We will be back
We were there for my sisters wedding in Lalinde. We needed a place to hold all the family members and friends who were making the trip from the United States that was also wheel chair accessible. This place was perfect.
The hosts are friendly and accommodating, welcoming us with a bowl of fresh figs from their garden. We gladly had some with breakfast the next morning and then cooked with some soft cheese the next evening. The large dining room table accommodated the whole family for meals, allowing for us to catch up with each other.
It is a little hard to find but worth the trip. I hope we will get a chance to stay here a again some time.

I visited La Garipiere in July/August as part of a larger family group.
The gite is simply stunning, situated with an amazing view across the valley in the direction of Belves.
Gary and Marie were friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
There are a wide variety of things to see and do in the surrounding area. I highly recommend the gite as a base for exploring the Dordogne region.
