Wow what a lovely track one to see with bags of history. Tied this in with a week in Florence also a must see. We had tickets for the sunday race day got there just in time by train my only gripe is the transport laid on, the train was fine just remember to validate your ticket before getting on the train in both directions once we got there it was a mass free for all to get on the 1 and only mini bus it was sheer chaos. My top tip is to find some more friendly people and walk down the hill from the train station here you will probably be approached by a taxi. He charged us €20 which between 4 of us was more than fine. The journey back was better left straight after last race walked to the mini bus and straight to the train station here you must not forget to validate your ticket before getting on the train hope this helps someone in the future and most of all have a great time.

What an absolutely amazing place! We attended the 2012 MotoGP race at this stunning circuit and loved every minute of it (except for the part where our Aussie rider ran off the track!)

Cant even begin to summarise the feeling u get when here, you are just surrounded by people who are happy to be alive and living the dream of being in Italy at a motoGP event.

The grandstands were beautifully situated and nothing will ever compare to the feeling of being allowed on the track after the main event as passionate revheads from all over the world indulge in this true heaven of racing!

We attended the 2012 MotoGP at Mugello. This was our first trip to Italy and the circuit. All i can say is FANTASTIC! the circuit is awsome, the atmosphere has to be sampled to believe. The car parking, traffic management and general event marshalling were all first class. We visited the local village at Scarperia, which was fun. Lots of fans enjoying a drink and free entertainment. I very strongly recommend a visit, its a beautiful part of the world!

A visit to Mugello is a must do if you are a Moto GP or just bike racing fans. My wife and I have visited four times now in the Rossi era, the atmosphere is amazing with a couple of hundred mad Italian race fans over the weekend. The circuit is located close to the town of Scarperia, we stay in the hills overlooking the circuit above Vicchio.
Viewing is excellent as the track is low in the valley allowing you to see a fair bit of the circuit from most points. Lots of fans sneak in static engines with megaphone exhausts etc, its well worth going on Friday and or Saturday to get you bearings and take in the atmosphere.
On race day we get there early, we were sat in our seat at 07.00 as the sun rose ! Parking is approx. one mile away in farmers fields so watch where you park if its wet but is well organised.
After the Moto GP race they open the gates and the fans can walk the circuit to watch the podium, if you are close enough, and watch the mad scramble / fight if Rossi throws anything to his adouring fans (if he ever gets on there again!).
We have flown in to a couple of airports depends what you want to do really. Bologna - fitting a Ducati factory tour and city visit. Pisa - cover the leaning tower and Florence. Stay on the beach in Rimini and head over the hills to Mugello. Any of these make a great trip, lovely scenery, great food and of course wine.
Get yourself to Mugello its magnificent.
