We had a lovey time during our stay at Lavender Cottage. Nice walks around the area, lovely old pubs and beautiful countryside.
The cottage was well equipped although as we stayed for 10days a washing machine would have been handy.
The master bedroom has only a double which for us was a little small, my problem I should have noticed when I booked. the room is a bit squashed as it has a huge wardrobe in it I would remove half of it to make the room bigger as it was very difficult to move around.
The cottage sits on a very noisy road and most of the noise is in the morning!!
However the cottage is clean and Cosy but another mistake I made was not noticing it is dog friendly!!
Noticed in the visitors book some people stayed with 3 dogs!!
So the place has a wet dog smell about it which is quite pungent especially after sitting on the llounge which continued after our 10day stay.
Jill was easy to communicate with and allowed us to check in early.
I booked this cottage for my family to stay in during a wedding weekend. They found it comfortable and pleasant. It was easy to book and the owner was very accommodating and responsive to making a small change in the booking. I would definitely book it again.

Had 3 nights stay at lavender cottage for my husbands bday with Tilly the jrt , well surprised wen we arrived as it was so cosy and a lovely welcome basket full of tin of biscuits, chocolate, Wine , tea coffee and selection of jams was very appreciated . The cottage was so warm.and clean with everything you needed. Bedrooms and bathroom where great with a cosy bed . Only downside was a little noisy from passing traffic wen the wondow was open .loved the log fire to sit by with a glass of wine to unwind after a healthy walk to the leeds liverpool canal and the five rise locks was truly amazing . The cafe served a tasty bacon bun and coffee ,also a couple trips down the hill to Busfield Arms and then challenged that strenuous hill bak to the cottage .Truly loved the break away it was just what we needed . Thku to the owners for making it relaxing .p s .. the garden was very pretty to sit in . Unfortunatly didnt sit in the summerhouse as the seats and cushions where wet from a leaking roof . Linda and Keith and Tilly . Xx
Had a really relaxing few days here. Unwind in front of the log fire with a glass of wine in hand. And sleep in a lovely comfy bed. Great views all around.
This cottage surpassed our expectations for a cottage with such a low price tag. We walked from the cottage with the walk guide provided. We sat by the log fire with the fuel provided and we enjoyed the view and the garden with the comfortable seating provided. Bed also comfortable and location perfect for exploring local area. Warm cosy cottage with attention to homely details. Thanks for a wonderful stay. One could pay twice the price for such a cottage and not get as nice!
Nice dog friendly cosy cottage with nice homely touches. In a good location in order to explore the area. Would recommend Haworth and Knaresborough. Has a nice garden with a summer house and barbecue. Nice to take advantage of the log fire with ample firewood provided but more if needed in garage at a low cost, paid with an honesty box. Has great views as well.
