Just spent three days here with another couple. It is a lovely property close to downtown Florence yet quiet and luxurious. The rooms were well furnished, but some of the furniture was not functional (i.e., drawers too small to hold shirts and an armoire so massive my partner could not reach high enough to hang things up!). The room we had was extremely hot and they had started to shut the AC down for the season so they kindly moved us to another room that was 7 degrees Celsius cooler and far more liveable. Nice little gym in the basement with a good upright bike, but again the room was too hot for my liking. Interesting gallery of prints in the hallway to get to the gym! Breakfast was simply outstanding, with a huge variety of hot and cold offerings. While not a cheap place, we did get an excellent price due to the season. It is probably more of a 4 star property than a five, but would not take too much to get it back to the 5 stars that the Italian government has assigned it. A very pleasant place, overall.

Room Tip: The second room we had by the pool was cool and airy with a quiet garden out back. Lovely!

This little gem was a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of the city of Florence. Located just 15 minutes away, it is a beautifual old farmhouse that was built out to be a relaxing resort complete with pool , bar and dining room.
The villa provides a free shuttle to and from Florence which was so very convenient. Our room at first had a small bed but when I asked management if they might have something with a larger one as my husband is a big man, they were so gracious and found us a lovely room with a much larger bed. Very accoomodating! the staff overall was extremely friendly and helpful.
The pool was heated and was a great respite after a long day of sight seing. Breakfast was served on the terrace and was a generous display of both hot and cold items with plenty of fresh fruit. We also tried the dining room and the food was excellent. One suggestion I would make is to have a special each night as the menu did not change during our 4 night stay. We also went into Florence fairly early each day so we ended up eating at the resort almost every night. I would suggest to travelers to go nto the city a bit later and stay for dinner one evening. The shuttle stops running at 7::30 and dinner service at the nice restaurants start at 7 so one would need to take a taxi home, but we did miss not trying a restaurant we had reviewed.
I would highly recommend the villa and Hope to return!

Room Tip: Only one comment. Everyone has a different preference when it comes to a comfortable mattress. I fou...

We have chosen Villa olmi resort so we can easily visit the city of Florence and explore the chianti vineyards.
The hotel is situated about 15 minutes driving distance from the historical center of Florence.
It's a real beautiful villa with a nice garden which makes you feel you want to stay forever.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped.
The stuff is professional, gracious and always at your service with a smile.
Breakfast is delicious and beautifully served.
The shuttle service ends at 19:00 which is early for those who want to see and enjoy Florence at night.
WIFI is spotty.
We had a major problem of Mosquitos in our room, that spoiled our sleep quality. but the management was very generous and upgraded us to a room with no such problem, for our last night of stay.
Otherwise we certainly recommend this property.

We booked Villa Olmi as our last stop in Italy hoping to "save the best for last." We were certainly pleased with our decision. Everything about Villa Olmi was excellent--our spacious room, the grounds, the main villa, food, and the staff. Make sure to take time to explore the beautifully manicured hedges and rose garden. The staff was very gracious and helpful--especially Sabrina at the front desk. They provided great attention to detail, starting with a warm checking in experience (including cookies and beverages). We started each day with a wonderful breakfast and then a ride to Florence city center on the shuttle. The resort combines the best of the old and the new. It's a centuries old property with all the updated modern conveniences, including Internet WiFi or shared PC's in the main building. We highly recommend Villa Olmi.

Beautiful and well run old estate. We chose the simplest room and still it was perfect for our stay. Spacious with beautiful antique furniture and all modern comforts, wonderful bathroom. Very convenient complimentary shuttle to the centre several times in the morning (last 11.00) and in the evening (last 19.30), takes 15 min, reservation the night before recommended as places are limited. Perfect place to come back in the evening after the drive through Tuscan hills or exploring the city centre. A very good choice for corporate events as well. We participated in the Ferrari event and the hotel provided a beautiful background for our start and a well organised dinner party for the finish. Very happy with the customer service as well. Fully recommended.

My husband and i had booked in the "Mulino di Firenze" hotel (4 stars) so when we arrived to Florence we were informed that the night before something happened in the hotel and there was a total black out in all of the rooms and the technicians are fixing it,however the electricity was not fixed yet in two rooms and one of them happened to be our room;so Mulino di Firenze hotel booked us in "Villa Olmi Resort " (5 stars) which is 2 min away from Mulino di firenze hotel, and told us that we will pay the same amount in Mulino Hotel although the rooms in Villa Olmi cost more since its a 5 star.
So when we arrived to Villa Olmi Resort we had a great welcome and we were upgraded to a suite not a classic double room!
It was from the best Hotels we have been too ,it feels so royal so classy so luxurious and it totally reflects the art and spirit of Florence! The Hotel campus is so nice as if you are in a castle garden, the staff is always smiling and helpful, and our room was awsome:)
We thank the Villa Olmi Resort hotel and staff for making our stay more than pleasant:)

Rooms:The rooms were large, clean and decorated with antique paintings and furniture. I almost felt like we were staying in a museum. I wasn't a fan of the linen sheets, but wife was.

Location: About a 10 minute cab ride from Florence. They offer a shuttle service, which needs improvement. It starts at 9am, which makes getting to some of the earlier tours challenging. It takes about 20 minutes before you get dropped off at the National Library (Biblioteca Nationale). While they always seemed to make or find room, more than once we were told that the shuttle was full. It takes 25Euro to get a cab to Santa Maria Novella and about 15-17 Euro to get to the Ponte Vecchio. The real problem is the shuttle service ends at 7:30pm. Florentines don't even begin dinner until after 7pm. So you will need to find a cab home each night. This was much harder to do this than I thought it would be.
They could easily fix the shuttle problem by adding a shuttle run starting at 7am and adding one, at least one shuttle at 11pm.

Services:Shuttle:see above.
Wifi- was fairly spotty, but at least was free. There was better internet available in the lobby.
They offered a continental breakfast that was excellent. They offered a wide variety of food choices
We did really like this hotel. If you use this hotel as a base to drive to Siena or the rest of Tuscany it would be fine, even excellent. I don't think I would stay here again if exploring downtown Florence, just too inconvenient. (If you buy anything (gifts, spices, leather etc) , you will need carry it around all day until you return to the hotel). If they fixed the shuttle problem- I would happily return.
