This hotel is very well located. Close to the train station and 15-20 mins from Florence by train. The owner and staff make you feel welcome. Go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. They also take the time to make recommendations and overall to give you the best experience. You can get a free shuttle to and from the station pretty much anytime during the day. Absolutely marvelous. Quite, clean, safe, nicely decorated and spacious. Just what you need after the rush in the busy and hot city centres around Tuscany. Daniela, Zulema and Lucca are so helpful that you feel they know you. Their customer service skills are fantastic. Highly recommendable to anyone who wants to travel around Tuscany without staying in the noisy centre. Keep the good work, guys. When we go back this will be the place to stay.

Signa is 20min journey from Florence by Train. it cost 2.30 euro each way.

Hotel provides free pick up and lift service which is very nice.

We stayed woom 302 which has sofa, table, two TV, Qeen bed and clean shower room with balcony.

They also provide free water which is very good as it was too hot ;)

I recommend to go to Siena which was my favourite place for this trip.

We went to Pisa-Florence and Siena.

Pisa is very small and you can spend only 2-3 hours enough.

Florence, I missed a lot...so I can not tell much about it.

I bought two leather bags...I got discount few euro...so pls ask discount in market ;)

Siena, you can get museum package ticket. All inclusive one which is only 12 euro.

It is worth it! really nice church and (I can not remember any of building's name...but next church) you can go top of the building and you can see really nice Siena view.

Do not miss it!

I would go there again!

From Signa to Pisa is 5+ euro and to Siena is 7+euro by Train.

This was our favorite hotel of the 5 hotels we stayed in during our Europe trip. It seemed much like US hotels. We arrived late (about 9:45pm) on our first night and the evening concierge, who spoke excellent English, said she had been waiting for us. She recommended our favorite restaurant of the entire trip as well, Da Foffo, down the street. Parking was free out front of the hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean from the sheets to the shower. The wifi was free but a little slow. The room included a mini fridge with free water every day and the bathroom had a hair dryer. The train station to go into Florence was about a 15 min walk but we didn't mind. Signa was a quaint town away from the chaos of all the tourists. We could have used the hotel's free shuttle to the train station but didn't mind walking. The train into Florence was about 15 mins as well. The first morning there, we chose to eat the breakfast buffet (5 euros per person) but it was amazing and well worth the money for a filling delicious breakfast and coffee. There was a laundry mat down the street as well that we used. On Friday morning during our stay, the community closed off the main street and a market full of clothing was there and the prices looked very reasonable. We loved this hotel when we stayed there and the service from all the front desk ladies to the barista in the breakfast cafe to the maintenance guy were wonderful! We had a problem with our shower not draining but they fixed it right after we told them about it. Thanks Stilhotel for a relaxing stay amidst the craziness of tourists in Florence! Be sure to check out Da Foffo if you stay here! It was really good Italian food and wine for under 10 euros per person!

Good size room, air conditioning, free bottles of water each day, free wireless internet, and friendly staff who will drive you to and from the train station each day if required.

Decent location, only 15 minutes by train from Firenze (Florence) and an hour in the other direction to Pisa.

There's a laundromat 10 minutes walk away, and a strange Scottish Pub on the corner that has little to do with Scotland, but makes decent Italian food.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights from our 3 weeks honeymoon in Italy (during early May). (Sorry it took so long, Luca, to write this review!) If we could stay here for all 21 nights, we would have. It was the most perfect hotel. Of the 6 hotels we stayed at during our honeymoon, this was, by far, the best hotel for many reasons:

1. So clean! The hardwood floor and the hardwood bedboards were spotless. The bathroom was sparklingly clean. The wooden cabinet smelled like fresh wood. Plenty of drawers, hangers, and hooks. I know it's only a 3-star hotel but it feels and looks like a 5-star!

2. So big! The bathrooms were HUGE! We were in 107 and it had a desk, a mini fridge, a TV, and a huge wooden cabinet. The bed was a king size bed with two night stands. The sheets were very clean. I even like the decoration colors though one of the poppy paintings looked like floating lips.

3. So close to the train station. It was a 10-15 minutes walk to the train station to get to Firenze SMN train station or Pisa. You should buy your ticket in the bar ahead of time because the bar does not open for all the times that the train runs. Plus, the bar has cheap drinks and snacks (including an amazing pastry with cream in it) so you can stock up for a long day of sight-seeing.

4. So close to many convenient stores and eateries without feeling like you're in the city. There's a great pizzeria (Tavern), yummy Cafe (next to the Penny Market), delicious and cheap gelato place, pharmacy, 2 supermarkets, a cheap self-service laudromant, an amazing restaurant down the street, and an interesting cafe near the pizzeria restaurant. The pizzeria tavern had some of the best pizzas we tasted in all of Italy (and our diet during the honeymoon was pizza, pizza, gelato, pizza, pizza, gelato, repeat). And it was only 5-6 Euros per large pie at the Tavern. The Cafe had some great desserts. The gelato was amazing here and the cheapest we've seen the entire trip. There's a pharmacy across the street, which was great for my brief cold. The 2 supermarkets were SOOOO nice to have (one right next door and the other one near the pharmacy across the street) because food in Florence was very expensive (i.e., 1/2 liter Coke for 3 Euros). We bought some salami, proscuitto, bread, cheese, mustard, and water to take into Florence. We ate lunches in the botanical garden and on the steps of some churches. It was cheap, yummy, and a great low-key experience. The "ristourant' was spectacular and very reasonably priced. Luca can show you where it is. The laudromat is only about 5 minutes walk but Luca was so nice and gave me a ride there the first time. However, once I knew where it was, it was easy to get back and forth. The laundry owner was very helpful and friendly too. Plus, there's a .50 Euro pizza near the laudromat and worth it for a cheap lunch while you wait for the laundry to finish. All these places were great if you get rained in like we did one day and didn't want to go into Florence.

5. The staff was SOOOOOO helpful. Luca will give you a ride to and from the train station but we came in late each night so we didn't want to bother the staff. The girls (Rosalinda, Franscesca, the cleaning staff, and the breakfast chef) and the maintenance guy were of great help. They helped us to find our trains, arrange for the purchase of Firenze passes, get to/from Pisa to Portofino, and countless other things. They also give you great information like when the trains leave to/from Firenze SMN for the Signa station, which is like the first or second stop depending on the train route.

6. Really safe and has a lot of security including a safe (box) in the room. However, as a general rule, do not leave your windows open when you leave the room if you're on the first floor of a building. We liked that you need the room key to get into the hotel. Though the area is very nice and safe, it's still comforting to know that the hotel is secure from the moment you get to the front steps.

7. Great place for honeymooners because you can get a train to Sienna and San Gimagnino and other great Tuscany country-sides. Also great because Signa itself has some treasured history with amazing views atop the hills including several olive gardens. When we were worn out from all the museums, we just walked around Signa to enjoy the views and the beautiful spring weather.

8. They are very environmentally conscious including shutting all the lights out when the guests leave the room. There are other environmentally friendly features that I can't remember right now but I do remember being impressed with the thought that went into building the hotel.

If I were forced to choose a bad thing about Stilhotel, I would say that the wireless connection could be better. I'm not sure if it's the service or the location. We could get free wifi but it was very slow. Luca, the owner, travels a lot. He built this hotel a few years ago with everything that he thought guests would like based on all his travels. He was spot on!

There is no doubt that in 8 years, when we celebrate our 10 years anniversary, we will go back to Stilhotel so save a room for us, Luca!

Enjoy!

Room Tip: I didn't see Stilhotel the first several iterations of checking. So keep checking.

Dear Friends,

The words you've used for me and my hotel are awesome. Thanks a lot from me and from all the Stilhotel Staff.

We love what we do. And it's very nice to hear that people like you can appreciate our passion.

Thanks again. We look forward to have you as our guest again one day.

P.S. about the wi-fi: yeah, you're right. It's quite slow. Unfortunately the italian broadband is not so good. Telecom Italia is going to improve their lines. We hope that they will do it as soon as possibile.

I loved our stay at the Stilhotel! Initially, we were confused. We took the Eurorail from Venice to Florence. I understood to call from the train station and they would pick us up. Here's the trick: Our driver, David, the lovely owner of Stilhotel was at the Signa Station. Once that was figured out, it was a breeze getting to Signa...just two train stops outside of Florence is the lovely little town of Signa! David, or another employee, will pick you up at THIS station! Once settled, you'll find that it is an easy walk from the hotel for that next trip to Pisa! (You'll take the same train.).
Stilhotel is very modern. Air conditioning, practically unheard of in Italy, unless you pay for a very expensive hotel. I loved that it was outside the city. Gives one an opportunity to catch your breath after the crowds.
Stilhotel offers the most incredible breakfast everyday. The photos of the buffet is not an exageration...each morning the sweet girl in the photo sets up magnificent feast....and makes the best espresso!
The hotel is very clean. Evironmentally aware. Your room key starts and stops the air conditioning. Rooms have fridges, bars, safes, and very comfortable beds. The windows shut out any sound that may come from the street.
It is located very near a large grocery store. Across the street is the Scottish Bar that serves the best pizza. It's a small town, with one of the largest nature preserves parks I've ever seen. Sailing, parasailing, swimming, children's play area, picnicing and bar-b-que facilities, as well as Espresso/Sandwich stands...they also serve alcohol if you'd like to sit and watch the exotic birds on the island or a sunset.
I highly recommend taking the short train ride out of Florence to experience this hotel. The lobby also has a computer for guests.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms.
