“Couldn't be more perfect!”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

I travel almost daily all over the world and can tell you Langass is in a class of its own. A little piece of paradise in the Uists.

Food is excellent, the owners and staff couldn't do more for you and are utterly charming.

The rooms are excellent and the views second to none.

Those people who have commented badly clearly don't have much of an idea and suggest they stick to The Nags Head in Blackpool for their Burger and Chips.

Room Tip: Just call and chat to the very helpful staff and explain your preferences.

Stayed at this hotel and had a lovely room and great hospitality. The food in the restaurant was first class. If your looking for a friendly, homely hotel, this is the one. I will certainly be back and hopefully very soon. Well worth the journey.

What a fantastic family run hotel. The hospitality shown by the amazing Niall and Amanda was second to none. The food was awesome, think Langoustine, Woodcock, Venison etc etc all expertly prepared by Colin and John in the Kitchen. The rooms are big and wonderfully warm with super comfy beds and linen. The waters always super hot ( perfect after a day out shooting or fishing in the cold). I would recommend this place to anyone safe in the knowledge that you'll have a wonderful time.

I have stayed in this hotel three times now but only when i have booked ahead. I would have stayed there more often but often it is full and thats not surprising really once you have experienced it. The rooms are charming, warm and always well presented and prepared. Bar food is delicious and the restaurant is also great . After a day out in the island however i prefer the bar food and the warm friendly atmosphere of the bar. It always surprises me the people i meet in the hotel from as far off as China and Argentina and all on a different adventure. There is a stairway to the inside hotel rooms with a tartan carpet that i love and the outside rooms have breathtaking views and doors that open on to well cared for open garden where the grouse or pheasant run about. Breakfast is a delight, smoked salmon. kippers, smoked haddock , Stornoway black pudding fresh fruit they have it all. I have not had a bad experience and for me this is a great hotel.

Stayed here for a night with my wife and kids (5 and 4) en route to South Uist and Barra. 10 mins or so from Lochmaddy ferry terminal and well signed off the road. We had the large family room (12 i think) with direct access to a small but scenic garden and play area for the kids. Room was huge with every amenity we could ask for including our own wine fridge! Room was well sound proofed (more beneficial for the other guests rather than us with the noise our kids make!) and the main bed deliciously soft and inviting. Staff really friendly and warm. Ate and drank in the bar - lots of games to keep the kids (young and old) amused. My son and I loved the bagatelles especially. All the food was lovely and the dining area light and airy. Had a great night's sleep and awoke to another beautiful day. Great breakfast with good selection of choices and tasty sausages, bacon and of course Stornoway black pudding. Shame we could only stay here for the one night but highly recommend Langass Lodge to any other travellers - and the family room to anyone with kids. Two tiny suggestions for improvement - the addition of a bin in the breakfast room for cereal boxes and some quiet background music would have been nice too (both may have been omissions on this particular day). Thanks for having us :-)

Room Tip: Room 12 for families

Amazing location, good for spotting wild life. Delicious food and a perfect night's sleep on a comfortable bed with fluffy down pillows! The staff provided us with a packed lunch for our onward journey and details of areas to visit.

This was our 5th visit always in September when it seems to rain-- It makes no difference the location is just as good--- the staff friendly and helpful. This year the food had taken a quantum leap upwards and was excellent ----we dined for the 4 nights we stayed, and couldnt wait to look at the menu when it came available at 6pm. Wild Life in abundance --- Otters in the loch and excellent fishing in the close vicinity through the North Uist estate. A really good place to stay and what a great Island community to visit. North Uist is our favourite Outer Hebrides Island--it doesnt have the majestic mountains of Harris but the beaches the pace of life and the fresh sea food and the Langass Lodge tips the balance

Room Tip: I think anywhere in the Hotel is OK---
