“Great value and perfect location”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

We stayed a week and really enjoyed our stay. It was like a private and quiet little cottage overlooking the pretty La Have River. Everything was very clean and well equipped. Close to south shore attractions in Lunenburg etc. and many artists' studios along the river. La Have Bakery is just down the road on the way to Crescent Beach. Bridgewater is a nice little town with all conveniences. The owners are very friendly and efficient and the rates can't be beat.

Room Tip: Rooms on the water have a nice view.

My friend and I stayed 3 nights at the Lighthouse Motel and to be truthful I didn't want to leave. The owners are very helpful and friendly people. The view alone is beautiful from morning till night. The rates are great and well worth every penny. Shopping is close by. The rooms and cottages are very well maintained and clean...will visit again for sure!!!

We were in room 2 which had 2 double beds and a kitchen. We also put a cot in it to accommodate 5 of us. Our room was very quiet. The kitchen had a full size fridge, an oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, dishes and cutlery too. The wide wood planked floors gave it a cabin feel. It was old but quaint. The owners and staff were so nice and accommodating. There is a large lawn leading down to the river. It is best to swim at high tide. It was interesting seeing the difference between high and low tide. My son waded in from the gravel beach but there is also a dock. Close to crescent beach (fun to drive on) and rissers beach.

Very peaceful and serene. Enjoyed a perk coffee and relaxed as a comorant gracefully flys mere inches above the surface. The night was very pretty and other visitors were having a campfire in the rain under umbrellas and we were welcomed to join in and it was a first but fun time. Slept like a log and listened to the ebb of the tides.

Room Tip: We had room 12.

This was a great place to spend 3 days of our 2 week trip to Nova Scotia. It was wonderful to have a small kitchenette so that we could prepare breakfast and light dinners and eat overlooking the water! It was very quiet and comfortable and we enjoyed being able to walk our dog on the large lawn right outside our door. Thanks for a great stay!

My husband and I just left the motel this morning and were sad to go! We had only planned to stay for one night but we just didn't want to leave so we stayed another night. We are already planning a trip back! We stayed in the Boathouse of course. The rooms are spotless and have kitchenettes with everything you could possibly need. Is it close to the water? I would say our bedroom window was about two feet from the water! There is a nice little pebble beach for swimming, a firepit, bbq and playground. The dock just outside is a great place to while away an afternoon or swim from. One of the quietest most relaxing places we have ever stayed. At $125 a night its a steal! The owners are very nice as was the gentleman that checked us in. We weren't sure how to get to town from there and he told us to drop off our gear and come back for directions. When we went back he had arranged for us to follow a lady right downtown! Very helpful! It is so close to everything and you would never know it! I look forward to going back... soon! BTW before we left we asked about pets and were told they are welcome as well but there is an extra charge of $10. A minor fee for such a fantastic place. Highlight of our trip finding this place!
