I have just come back from this hotel 2 days ago and the only good thing I have to say about it is the scenery from the B block balcony.

The hotel has been rated a 4 star but in actual fact it should be a 3 or sometimes even 2. The people at the hotel are friendly but can come across as rude sometimes.

On the first day we asked for AC in our room and were told we has to pay €150 more for 3 rooms. Therefore please note, AC is NOT included.

The security is very unpleasent and made us feel very uncomfortable.

There is a hygiene problem at the hotel. Once me and my family seen a rat running across near the swimming areas. The hotel rooms are not cleaned properly, bedsheets are not changed at all.

The cleaner would come into the room, sweep the floor without moving anything aside include minor obstacles such as a chair leaving mess under it. And mop the bathroom and go.The bathroom in our room was clogged up and we were never
given any toilet rolls at all.

The hotel has been advertised to have free Wifi whereas this was not the case. In actual fact to use the computer we had to pay €1 evry 15 mins. However we got lucky, we found a very nice family who owned a supermarket and also the ASPROKAVOS Travel. The supermarket has wifi, and also were nice enough to offer us AC and seats as well. We booked our excursions with them, and they were fantastic.

Breakfast was so basic, with a slice of toast, boiled egg, cheese, butter/jam and tea or coffee and orange juice. Which is something we were not expecting at all.

However, although we did not like the hotel. And will never go to it again. The people around are very friendly.. The atmosphere is great and we wouldnt mind going back again.

Certainly not in this hotel!

I've recently returned from a one week girly holiday from 22nd-29th August at this hotel and i have to say it was absolutely faultless!!

Upon arrival we were really worried having already read some of the reviews on here, but when were arrived we were greeted very pleasantly by the staff (it is a family run hotel) and show to our immaculately clean hotel room on the ground floor. NO ants, NO cockroaches!! It was all so clean so we were already relieved from the start.

When we went to the pool, it too was kept very clean and tidy, with plenty of sunbeds available every day as well as probably the most amazing hotel bar man you will ever meet. He made every morning a good one when serving us our breakfast as well as taking an interest in all of us on the holiday. The food available at the pool snack bar was brilliant in both quality and price, with Yanni (the bar man) even giving you little extras free of charge every now and again to show his gratitude. The pool also had a few steps which lead you to directly step into the sea should you choose (fantastic for those of you whole dont like getting sand stuck to your feet when you come out of sea). If you decided to step in you could also walk (in the water) to the water sports jetty with so many offers on all the sports available. We went on a pedalo which was for €5 each for an hour, but the jetty managers said they werent really strict on time and just have fun :) its a definite must do, we saw some sting rays in the water that you could swim with and some people we met said they saw a giant sea turtle :)

On the second day the rep came to tell us about the things you could do in the area (both party and cultural) and the price plans for them all. We decided on the booze cruise for €35 each. Couldnt have been anymore worth our money. A full day on the boat with continuous dance music and drinking games to party to (10:30am - 6pm) where you first go to a secluded/abandoned/private beach for a couple of hours and have a BBQ (included in your price so no more payments) and as many free drinks as you like during the BBQ (Greek sangria and pop and water), then we went to the blue lagoon where the water was so so clear to do to jump off the boat to do champagne diving and swimming. Finally you go to the rave cave and then return back, having a water fight and foam party on the boat on the way. AMAZING!!

We went with breakfast included, which was simple continental of Toast, with ham cheese and a boiled egg. Although you can see that some people would say this is over simplified, all i can say is it depends how you eat it. I only ate the toast the first day, but the day after Yanni showed us all a great way of putting it together to make a really filling and tasty toasty sandwich that would set you up for the day. In terms of the other boards for the holiday there was a set menu comprising of a few of the best dishes from the main/general restaurant menu to choose from.

Every time we had a meal in the restaurant the food was prepared quickly and was fantastic quality. The portions were very very generous and the prices were very cheap (e.g. a cheese and bacon coated half chicken with full salad and chips was only €6.50) and the drinks were also cheap. On occasion as well, when asking for the bill, the staff would bring complimentary shots for you to try and on the last night as a thank you they even brought us a free desert each.

Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced too. It was happy hour from 8-10pm where all alcoholic drinks measures and glass sized were doubled, effectively giving you 2 drinks for the price of 1 (We had a pint glass cocktail with double measures of each alcohol ingredient for only €4). This is in the reception are where the also have 2 computers available, 3 phones and a lounging area with a big screen TV and movie juke box if you just fancied a night in by the bar. As well as that there is a little hotel supermarket a couple steps down from reception for all your needs at really cheap prices; 6 litres of water for only €1.80. There is a little supermarket down the road too though for little bits like souvenirs if you didn't want to go all the way to the strip. You might want to get your own bottled alcohol from here too instead of the hotel supermarket, its a bit cheaper :) especially if your all sharing.

In terms of staying in the Kavos area as a whole, we all said we would go back again. There were some really cute, quaint little restaurants with very friendly staff in the area. If you go here you should try the Rose Tree restaurant just a 2 min stroll away. The food here was lovely and so so cheap and the waiter was so kind. He encouraged me to try a Greek version of lasagne and said that if i didnt like it he would cook me another english lasagne straight away. I loved it, but the portion was so big i didnt finish it all and he was so worried that i hadnt liked it that he apologised and brought us all a round of peach schnapps and lemonade for free bless him.

A lot of previous reviews complained about the stink of Kavos....honestly its not even that bad. You get a slight whiff for about 15mins in the afternoon and its not even that strong.

The strip is about a 15ish minute walk away from the hotel. Its a really easy walk to do and even us bunch of 3 girls were happy to walk it. Its actually a nice distance away because its close enough to walk comfortably (even drunk and when your feet are hurting) but its far enough to be able to get a good nights sleep because you cant hear the hustle and bustle of the strip :)

YES there may be a few mosquito, but you can get spray and anywhere as hot as here at this time of year is going to have the same problem so its not really a fair complaint point.

I would recommend this hotel and location to anyone whether you're a family of a group of friends looking for a cheap getaway or even a hardcore party holiday. It was friendly from start to finish and just goes to show that if you are polite and friendly, then staff will be more than polite and friendly back :) :) probably one of the best weeks of my life!!!!

Recommended Bars o the Strip: BUZZ, Legends, Papa Galos, Atlantis

Recommended Restaurants in the Area: The British International Restaurant on the strip, The Rose Tree, and Subway is open 24/7 for those of you who like to stuff your faces like us girls after a night out :) :)

HAVE FUN on your holidays hope this helps!!! x

Stayed at this hotel for a week, half-board, and cannot fault it. Hotel run by the family who are indeed very nice and caring people.
Excellent food, both a la carte and half-board options, which more than enough variety for the 7 days. In case you still think you need something extra...dont worry, they will do it for you with a smile in the face.
The desserts....wow...the desserts....so good...and especially prepared by Thalia and Joanna.
Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed at this hotel along with a group of people, we had a ants over the cooker area, under the beds there was rubbish, the bed sheets dont get changed daily, the maids dont even sweet the room up properly, the ac hardly worked and we paid €50 extra for ac on arrival, breakfast doesnt meet the needs for vegeterians they just give u a slice of toast with a a rolled up slice of cheese with a boiled egg!, the staff where rude and would be drinking alcohol and smoking whilst you ask them a question or any query you have and Theres no activities to do during the day of you have kids except go swimming! With the amoung of trouble me and my group went through, i would not recomend this hotel, i would rather go to the supermarket which is down the road from the hotel & ask the owner to book a room there, which is way more worth the money and very very very clean!!

Just returned home after a week-long stay here with 5 friends of mine. We came to Kavos for the well-known night life so decided to spend as little as possible on the hotel to allow more money for nights out! The initial reviews we read were a little daunting but how miss leading all the negatives ones turned out to be. This is a great hotel and myself and friends agreed we could not have found a better hotel for the price we paid! Yes the rooms were basic but were clean (ok maybe not the bathroom) The pool, beach and water sports are good and all the barman by the pool and reception are absolute legends, same could be said for Phil (owner of the water sports company)! All staff were really friendly and helpful. We had 2 rooms between 6 of us and staff were happy to unlock the inter linking door to allow effectively one big room for all of us. Reception/ bar being open 24 hours was an added bonus as we would often stumble in at 4-5 am after nights out. Only negative is it is a bit of a trek from the strip but when intoxicated the walk really is not that bad. 20 minutes seems like 5.

Best week of my life in Kavos and all I can say is the hotel was an added bonus!

Room Tip: Room B4 & B5 - Unforgettable life long memory's were made.
