“Great Location and 24 hour Bar!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2012

I stayed in this hotel many years ago when it was run by Freestyle or some other faux-Club 18-30 company but in July 2011 I returned for a week and it is now a Club 18-30 hotel.

1. Location:

The hotel is towards the bottom of the Strip (or the top depending on how you look at it) which means that you will be one of the first people off the coach transfer which is always good and it means you can start off and booze your way down the Strip or booze your way back etc.

Also the hotel is right on the beach which means you can give the Strip a miss and walk along the beach to the after party club that is on the beac; forgotton its name though.

2. Hotel

The hotel is made of the main hotel building and three annexes. When I first visited in 2009 I stayed in annex B and the room was relatively roomy. My room in July 2011 wasn't great but then I again I worked out I spent less than three hours per day there (would get back at 8am every morning, nap til 9am then go to the pool then return to the room to get ready and booze in the evenings!) so I didn't mind too much. There were two of us in the room which basically contained two beds (a bit too close together if I'm being honest) and a fridge; that was it and there was very little space to move around. The bathroom was tiny and of course the shower curtain didn't stop the bathroom turning into a wet room after every shower!

3. Pool

The pool isn't huge but seems to be perfect size for the hotel as mainly people are splashing around or lying on inflatables. There are plenty of sunbeds on around the pool and a couple on the beach which are free.

4. Bar

Good news; the bar is open 24 hours a day and there is rarely a time when there is no one down there so you always can strike up a conversation with someone. Drinks were cheap and they do specials at around 8pm ish so everyone from the hotel is around the bar before hitting the Strip which is good as getting to talk to everyone etc. The bar also serves food including Pot Noodles which can hit the spot after a few days of non-stop partying in Kavos! I think it is every Thursday when they have a pool party where drinks are €1 and there is a competition to see how many drinks people from each region can drink.

Overall: Stayed here two times and although I'm probably too old to go back to Kavos, if I did then I would definetly go back here as the location was really good and there is such a friendly atmosophere around the pool.

Also the majority of other hotels in Kavos are pretty dire so this one is definetly the best of the bunch!

I Stopped At The Quayside Twice In 2011 (July And September) And Can Honestly Say I Don't Think I Can Fault It.
With 18-30s You Only Expect The Basics As The Holidays Are Priced At A Great Value Anyway But The Quayside Gos The Extra Mile.
The Staff At The Hotel Are Extremely Friendly And Will Do Anything To Help You Wih Any Issues You May Have, The Atmosphere Is Brill And The Cleanliness Is Pretty Good.
The Hotel Is In A Great Location And Has A Fab Pool Bar Which Always Seems To Have Offers On So You Can Have A Few Drinks Whilst Getting Ready For A Big Night Out!!
The Reps Were Spot On As Always And Did Everything They Possibly Could To Ensure We Had The Best Hol Ever (Thanks Lauren,Lucas,Rachel,Andy And Jenna)
Top Hotel And Holiday- Would Reccommend To Anyone :)
Me And My Friends Have Already Booked To Return July2012

Me and 4 friends stayed at Quayside Village during September 2011. We booked this hotel because the rooms looked clean in the brochure, the location was good and it had the best rating so we assumed it would be the best hotel to stay in, BIG MISTAKE, we assumed very wrong indeed!

We got to the hotel in the early afternoon and were greeted by reps Lauren and Jenna. They were dirty and unkempt, a great first impression! They tried to force us into booking trips because they said the strip was dead and we'd have a rubbish time without them. We only decided to book the booze cruise, to Jenna's 'disgust' and she was really rude to us about it.

We hardly saw the reps and when we did they were getting drunk around the pool and couldn't care less especially when me and my friend went to our room and found it was awful, they were nowhere to be seen when we wanted to switch rooms or had a problem.

Three of our group had one room and me and my other friend had another room. There's was ok and reasonably clean but ours was like a squat and I'm not over exaggerating because were not fussy when it comes to accommodation but this was disgusting and unacceptable. Stains on the bedsheets that looked like blood, food stains up the wall, grime on the floor, disgusting old fridge I wouldn't trust to keep food in and don't even get me started on the bathroom! The shower head was broken so you had to hold the shower yourself when showering and as you can imagine that's kinda difficult when trying to wash your hair etc! Our friends rooms toilet was vile, it looked like someone had spent the whole night on it with a bout of food poisoning or something, won't go into details...!

We thought we'd leave it for a bit and go out and speak to the reps in the morning, but the room was full of mosquitoes and bugs, I know Greece is prone to having loads of mosquitoes but our room was swarming and our other friends room was fine, they hardly got bitten and I was covered after the first night of being in there for only about half an hour because we couldn't bear to stay in there any longer!

We went to reception the next day and asked to have a new room, the receptionist said she could get the cleaners to clean it again but we wanted to be out of there so she eventually agreed to give us a new room. The new room was much better but still very dirty! The shower head in there was also broken and the bathroom flooded every time you had a shower. We had our towels changed once which were paper thin and our bed sheets were never changed which i thought was unacceptable. Our electrics broke in the whole room and we had to wait over two days for them to be fixed.

Apart from the rooms the pool is nice but a little dirty, bogies, hair and dirt and everything floating in the pool! the hotel is right on the beach and its very small, the sea water smells of sewerage so i dread to think what was in it!

The bar is great and has a large selection of cheap drinks and snacks which were nice.

Be warned, the brochure is very deceiving, and I know its an 18-30 holiday and accommodation will never be 4* Hilton but there is no excuse for poor hygiene and filthy rooms!

Although I have given the hotel a bad review, don't let it put you off going to Kavos. We all loved the night life and had a great time, we just made sure we spent more time out than in the rooms! The booze cruise we went on was great so I would recommend that. Don't let the reps bully you intro booking trips if you don't want to. Even if you don't book any trips you still end up in the same bars as them and getting the same drinks offers, you just avoid getting ripped off! The hotel is in a great location and very close to the strip and all the bars and clubs. There is a great restaurant called The Drunken Squid that serves Chinese and Mexican food, we went there a few times because it was so nice. Also try TKD's for a meal and a shisha pipe and a chill in the awesome relaxing area they've got there!

Hope this is helpful!

Room Tip: Don't go to this hotel!

Stayed here in august 2011. Kavos itself is filthy and smelt really bad! Upon arrival the hotel staff were very friendly. The rooms were small and had no self catering facilities meaning you have to eat out all the time. The food in kavos is quite cheap so it didnt cost too much, really good restaurant called the drunken squid not far from hotel. The rooms were very shabby and bathroom was quite grim, especially the toilet, smelt very bad! not at all worth the money we paid. Would definately reccomend the air conditioning! The safety deposit boxes are located in reception and look like they might have been broken into once or twice. Hotel is right on the beach front but that was very littered with rubbish! 18-30 reps were chatty, we had one called lauren, until we told her we wouldn't be booking any excursions then she completely ignored us for the rest of the trip. The only plus side to the hotel is the location, right on the strip do not far to stagger back!

When me and six of my friends decided on a lads holiday we decided on kavos and chose quayside village as the hotel to say in. We arrived at around 4 in the morning and we all just wanted to goto bed, but we were welcomed by the reps who were just interested in selling us nights out we didnt even want. We met them later that day to make a desision on what nights out we wanted we ended up choosing 4 nights out, i noticed as one of the reps was adding up the total she said something different to what the calculator said!

After that we hardly saw the reps apart from when they were relaxing in the pool of our hotel. The rooms were no where near what club 18-30 had a picture of on their website, yes it was near the end of season but we had 3 different rooms and they were all absolutly shocking!

Wires hanging out the, wall sockets hanging off the walls, broken furniture, dirty sheets, dirt everywhere, broken door lock just to name a few! The rooms were not cleaned everyday as was advertised some times a couple of days before being cleaned and bins emptied. The bathroom was the worst the shower head holder had been ripped out and never replaced so i had to hold it while having a shower, The shower curtain never met the bottom of the shower so everytime i had a shower it ended up flooding the bathroom. We solved this by piling up our dirty towels around the shower basin worked but not an ideal solution!

The grille on the bathroom floor always chucked up the water from the sink which also covered the floor in water. The beds were the most uncomfortable ones i have ever slept in, i woke up with neck and back ache every morning. The patio door lock was held on by two wrong screws which i undone with my bare hands and the whole lock came away from the door, easy access for someone wanting to rob our room! I saw the pool being cleaned once while we were there, it always had things floating in it including old plasters bugs and bodyly fluids!

The whole place was in need of some money spent on it to bring it upto scratch as everything you looked at was broken. The only positive for this hotel is the barman Julio/harris Who was they only member of staff willing to chat to you, no one else could be bothered!. We heard while we were there Block C of the hotel had been closed due to the poor condition of the rooms, they obviously never see our rooms then!

If you are looking to book a holiday in kavos then DONT book this hotel im sure there are other hotel that are much better than this!

Room Tip: For a quiet nights sleep dont choose a room with a pool view. Also get air con it is a must!

Well where do i start arrived here on monday to a complete dive. once you arrive at check in its 50 euro each deposit incase you break anyfin not that there is anyfin to break, then welcome meetings with the reps who con u into buyin excursions n nightsout with them charge u well over the odds and u can get everyone cheeper from people along the strip. our room is dirty, stinking and crawling. Woke up to a swarm of ants all over the floor and bed went to reception who sprayed ant killer then left dead bodies so have to wear shoes about the room, we have a pool view room which we thought was on the plus side untill u realise that wen u look out the balcony u see ppl doing it at the pool, the speakers for the music are so loud u cant sleep , and there on till like 6 in the morning and blasted agen at 9 ! not wot u want when u have a hangover, the ppl are rude, staff are very unhelpful even kavos as a whole has been crap. you get stopped with every pr staff begging u to come into there pub which is deserted, i fly home tomoro lunch time thank god left the room there because it is crawling with ants and mosquitos my friend has been bitten over 70 times ans took a allergic reaction went to doctors got a jab then told her it was 90 euro and we have travel insurance u still need to pay an excesss, the reps are meant to help u and guide u they do nothing but sunbathe get drunk and rip you off. the hotel is on a beach which is boggin and used condoms everywhere

Room Tip: i wouldnt advise any room heard b block is worse

The hotel really depended on which block u were put in. We were in a nice block and the rooms were fine. You can pay for air con which i would recommend. The shower is awful and stinks but that is what the most of kavos is like!
The hotel was really sociable and always lots going on. The pool isnt as massive as the brochure makes out but is still nice. It is right on the beach and right on the strip. The hotel bar is open 24 hours and no matter what time you roll in home there is always someone at the bar to sit and talk to!
The rooms felt safe and when we had a problem with our lock we told reception who came and changed the locks straight away.
Make sure you coat yourself in mosqito spray and take bite cream with you as there is no pharmacist and it costs to go to the doctors.
If you are looking for a base to party then the quayside is just fine. It is really good value for money if you get a cheap deal like we did. I would stay there again if i could ever face the mosquitos again!

Room Tip: Pay for air con.
