“Brilliant Hotel!”
Reviewed April 2, 2012

I stayed at the Lemon Grove with my friend in July/August last year. It is a great hotel as long as your going for a lively holiday and not to relax. The view from the hotel restaurant/bar/pool area is amazing, looks right out to sea. The staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful, free shot with your meal every night! Pool was big enough for the amount of guests and you could always find a sunbed, altho u do have to pay for them. The water sports are right outside the hotel..the rings are a must! The rooms were very big and clean, beds were comfy. Only thing i would moan about is the maid turns your aircon off while you are out (which we left on to keep the room cool). The hotel is right at the beginning of the strip opposite face bar which is a great place to start your night. Friday nights are 50 cent night (50 cent a drink) and you must go to see the hypnotist (absolutely hilarious night). Kavos it self is a little gross and it really does stink like everyone says it does but its bearable. Warning do not go to Kavos if you are 23+ you will be classed as ancient!

Very nice, basic but clean rooms, perfect location (so close to the strip you can just pop back to get something but not NEXT to the bars that you cant sleep) lovely pool/onsite food etc. Perfect for what you need for this kind of holiday

3 young quite tipsy girls arrived at lemongrove around midnight since wed been delayed for 10 hours so decided to get onitttt, when we got off the coach we tought "where the hell are we" but once we got up the path we were met by the night security guard who was lovely! he let us in our room, which was basic but comfortable and just what u need for a party holiday!.. The beach is average and we spent everyday in the sea and chilling with the watersports! The Nightlife is immense! ive been ibiza and ayia napa before and kavos lives up to them just as mental! deffo recommend getting a pedalo and take some beers or wine on it and just chill in the middle of the sea- dont forget the oil :).. right opposite lemongrove is a bar called faces (we think) and u pay 5euros for unlimited drinks for 1hour, perfect place to start off. Make sure u get to buzz bar and atlantis deffo best places. Food at the hotel was gorgeous and so so cheap! Drunken Squid is like A 2min walk for a change of food. Lemongrove is the perfect destination for an amazing holiday. The one thing i would say is take an extra towel as the ones provided are really small and the shower wasnt the best, the floor was always wet through and 3 girls using it was a nightmare , didnt let it ruin our holiday though! Make sure u do the booze cruise and in the day have a walk down the strip as theres always people selling tickets for events at night!, theres a shop just down the road that sells champagne for 2euros get on that before u go out , does the job nicely! Weve booked our holiday back to kavos for 2012 .. see ya all thereeeee :) 1 last thing u have to be a Fearles B*st*rd and Go Hard or Go Home xx

Lemon Grove is Fantastic; I can’t understand why people have so many complaints about this hotel.
I can only imagine that they are snobs or way too old to be holidaying in Kavos.
After reading some of the other reviews before I left for Corfu I was a bit sceptical but I was also aware it was a 2 star rated hotel in Kavos so I wasn’t expecting the Ritz anyway.

We stayed at Lemon Grove from 3rd – 10th September 2011.
In our group we had 9 girls all aged between 21 and 26 (so not a load of teenagers on our first clubbing holiday) and booked 4 self catering apartments. 3 of the apartments were perfect but one of the rooms wasn’t up to scratch but this was quickly sorted out and the girls in that room were moved to another room. We stayed in Rooms 45, 44, 43 and 40.
There are 2 options at this hotel self catering (so you get a kitchenette) or Bed and Breakfast (so obviously no kitchenette).
Room was perfect size for 3 girls hogging the mirror, I read reviews saying there was a tiny wardrobe with no hangers in the rooms but we had a big wardrobe full of hangers, plus I take hangers with me...it is Greece after all. Bathroom exactly what you expect, toilet, sink and shower (without curtain of course, which is half the fun of being on holiday) Loads of plug points, Kettle, Fridge is really cold and beds served their purpose (no smell of urine which seems to be a common complaint). Maids came in every other day and not to early thankfully. We had a balcony which you could see the pool and beach from which had a couple of chairs and a table so you chill on here which was nice at night. Air conditioning costs 40Euros for the week and a safety deposit box 10euros (This is at reception which is open until 11pm)

We found the staff at the hotel to be very friendly, especially the girls at the pool bar; very welcoming and we never had any nastiness from staff even after the girl’s complaints on the first day. We even managed to get a discount for the booze cruise :)
Pool was really nice, music always on and right on the beach by the water sports and by the jetty that all boat trips leave from. The water sports are very reasonably priced.
Ok the beach isn’t the best in the world but it does its job, its lovely just to lounge about in the sea as it’s so shallow, also loads of little fishes everywhere and excellent views of the mainland.

Location of the hotel is brilliant, just out the way of all the noise but right at the start of the strip so you can get to everything easily.
Went to some of the bars that do the 2 drinks and shots for 5euros and 1euro cocktails, not a good idea unless your 18 and don’t care what you put in your body it made most of us feel rough.
Defiantly recommend walking to the other end of the strip to Fresh (Proper alcohol and lovely cocktails only 5euros each) and the owner is lovely, it is a bit quieter but good to start the night at and Rolling Stones was a favourite of ours really strong cocktails and you can get proper alcohol here as well. Buzz was wicked and make sure you check out Atlantis (bar on the beach) at the end of the night too. Rodney’s is the place to get watermelon fish bowls, pretty pricy but really nice!

Food was soooo cheap, we visited Penny’s quite a lot, the food there was really good and the Drunken Squid was a little bit more expensive but the food was lovely, definitely worth a visit. Also food at Lemon Grove was really good!

Would recommend the booze cruise to anyone, was such a fun day out. We had a bbq on the beach on a private beach on the main land, a water fight with another boat, played games, swam in the blue lagoon and had a rave in the cave, only cost 30 euros for the whole 6 hour trip. They supplied you with free wine at the bbq but other than that you had to buy drinks. Was only 2.50 for beer though and 2 cocktails for 7 euros so I thought that wasn’t bad.

I’ve been to many clubbing destinations in Europe and further afield so it was not my first holiday in Greece (Zante(3 times), Malia, Kos, Magaluf, Puerto del Carmen, Las Vegas, Cancun) and would say Kavos is one of the best I have visited in Greece, would defiantly recommend it! Love Greek nightlife!

The only bad point was coming home :(

Room Tip: Request high level, better view. Stay in Self Catering - Rooms are much bigger.

I stayed here with a friend for a week, we wanted somewhere close to the strip but fairly decent being two girls that like our home comforts and we were filled with relief when we saw Lemon Grove compared to all the other hotels on the strip. Located at the top end of the strip its close enough to all the bars but far enough that you don't hear the noise all night and the beach is a lot nicer. It has it's own private beach which is cleaned daily by the sun-bed man who was very friendly and gave us a discounted rate for the week. The staff were friendly but didn't go out of their way for you. You got what you paid for and we had a great stay. The rooms could have been cleaner and the beds comfier but it was perfect for the two of us, we had a little balcony and table and chairs with a sea view too so had everything we needed. Would reccomend.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms ideal Most have sea views

After walking down the Kavos strip the first day we arrived we realised how lucky we were to be staying in Lemon Grove! It's 50 metres from the strip, yet A LOT quieter than any other accommodation near the strip (unless you stay 10minutes or more away from the strip-which is a big NO NO if you plan to be heading to the strip every night!). It is right on the beach with absolutely amazing views of mainland Greece!

I definitely would not recommend Kavos for ANY families, however Lemon Grove would probably be the best place to stay after seeing other accommodation options!

I have read many reviews about how amazing the staff are at Lemon Grove-this is misleading! The reception staff are HORRIBLE! The daughter of the owner is an absolute psycho and should be avoided at all times!!! For some reason the owners absolutely detest young party-goers, however about 80% of the accommodation was full of young people and are probably the reason they are still running (so stay away from reception as much as possible!)! However, the restaurant staff- Sam and Alex and the waitress- definitely made our stay a lot better.

Also, the pool is very nice. The pictures don't seem to do the accommodation any justice!

Room Tip: Stay away from reception! Restaurant staff made our trip so much better!!!!

ARRIVAL - as we walked down to the hotel there was smashed stella bottles (not a great start) then we were greeted by drunken yobs sitting by the pool - this was half 6/7 in the morning. We were taken to our room and not given much of a welcome. ROOM -the room was a disgrace - tiny wardrobe with 1 coat hanger and 3 trouser hangers (therefore we lived out of our suitcases for the whole 2 weeks), bathroom had a smell of strong urine, matresses badly worn and also had a strong smell of urine, no fridge, kettle or cooking facilities - room completely different from brochure and we also asked for a pool view which we did not get so to say the least we were very disapointed. HOTEL STAFF - staff very friendly until we made a complaint about our room. No-one helped and we were not bothered with for the rest of the holiday - very fake unless your happy and spending money by the pool everyday. KAVOS - we were very shocked as the town was run down, dirty, no pavements, rubbish everywhere and we even seen rats while out one night!! It is also very small therefore there is no getting away from the nightlife, pubs all the same with not much variety and the drink was very expensive! BEACH - very dirty as there was plenty more rubbish lying around, used comdoms included!! EXPERIENCE AT HOTEL - bed and breakfast consists of a small glass of orange juice, 2 slice of toast (sometimes comes as stale bread or toasted on one side). We felt that the staff choose there favourite people (again prob since we complained) and served them first - even if we ordered before them - and with a friendly manner. Other residents at the hotel run riot through the corridors, banging doors, shouting and making as much noise as possible between 5am and 8am as this is when they normally arrive back. Nothing was done about this even though we mentioned that we were hardly getting any sleep at all. POOL - enjoyed lying by the pool however the music was very repetitve! ACTIVITIES - aqualand and boat trip were two really good days away from Kavos. Have experienced San Antonio, Ibiza, Magaluf, Benidorm etc therefore we are happy to be in a lively resort - they are streets ahead of kavos in every way! Apart from the gorgeous weather lets just say we are VERY glad to be home!!!!
