We appreciated Marlen's warm welcome, special coffee delivered to our room in the morning, and the ability to choose from a few rooms during a heavily booked mid-week. Our room at the back was comfortable and we had a good sleep and a nice hot shower. Fortunately, the guests who had booked most of the non-family rooms were scientists busy with a conference, because I agree that thin walls and doors and windows do not keep out normal noise such as conversation, doors opening and closing, knocking on doors, and even the sounds of neighbors getting ready for sleep etc. That mostly ended at 10 pm, so our sleep was fine, but over the weekends I imagine that comings and goings late at night might disturb. The discounted price seemed fair.

We stayed only 1 night with our 10-year kid in one of their biggest room (suite): attentive and very responsive couple run the place with a lot of attention. Room at the rear from the street means quite room, direct access to secure car park and colonial style up to the details!.. Would go back without hesitation - and their deserve it.

We stayed in a standard double room for 3 nights midweek. Clean room and bathroom, good hot water pressure. Standard double not huge but easily big enough for the 2 of us. Really quiet at night as was on the rear courtyard.

The family who run the place are very hospitable, really want you to enjoy your stay.

My only suggestion for the owners would be to start offering breakfast, although within a very short walk there are a dozen breakfast choices so this wasn't a major problem.

Villa de Leyva is very quiet midweek so there were few others staying, plenty of choice of rooms. Some of the rooms on the ground floor get not much light so if this is important to you, make sure you specify when booking.
