Went back again and the local agent has changed.... hes a little grumpy and was boasting how the houses were newly renovated.. We didnt notice anything. Except maybe a silly attempt at a driveway which forced us to park far from the house (20m is far when oyu have a car load of baby gear). Also the drive up to the house was deep gravel.. a nightmare to move a buggy along.
Still houses were nice. Achill seemed a little quiter than last year. We walked up to the best sea food restaraunt in Achill and it had room for 5 on saturday evening at 8pm.
Very surprised.. lots of bodies on the beach just not spending. It was a treat for us but 60 euro a head with wine was a little excessive.
Be warned - check out is at 12pm.... we got a knock on our front door telling us so at about 11:40. The homes were pretty quite but we were pressured out by 12:30. We usually leave a house spotless but not that time. Felt a little embarrased. Considering the beauty of the place and the relaxed mood that grew on us over the holiday i was disappointed to be so rudely welcomed back to the real world of dead lines.
I still recommend them for location but next year i might look at the links (beside pitch and putt course and backing onto beach).. or the sandybanks holiday homes (beside the lake). Both are a little further from the village.. but thats what cars are for!
