“Excellent facilities- Superb location”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

Recently spent five days here on our first visit to Achill. Got off to a great start with a great welcome from Nodlaig and John. Indeed throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble for them and it was clear that this attitude had been fostered in their staff. The facilities were excellent with some of the best cooking and washing up facilities we have seen in Ireland. The location is superb, set between the cliffs of Minaun and Slievemore and situated right on the beach. As dog owners it was great for early morning and evening walks. Within a short walk from the site there are some excellent cafes, bistros and restaurants. I would especially recommend Calveys and The Bervie. Definitely in the top three campsites we have visited in Ireland. We will definitely be back.

We visited to camp during the heatwave and have to say, this place is excellent! Well ran, very clean, staff are lovely and the night time stewards were really professional. The Keel to Keem area is wonderful!! Beach on the doorstep. Spotless kitchens and showers and toilets and GREAT value. I tip my hat to the owners. I would recommend this place highly! Great for kids and couples alike!

Perfect setting right on the beach, staff were helpful and friendly. The site is a bit disorganised for pitching tents as there are no allocated plots and people seem to pitch wherever they like. Other than that it was a nice place and I would recommend

Stayed here for three days recently and enjoyed my stay up to a point, the park is beautiful, lovely views, clean w,c,s and very friendly staff. It is very reasonably priced. Restaurants and pubs close by and a well stocked shop within walking distance. The only down side there was a few undesirables that were driving around the park late into the night, staring at other campers property. At 4.20 am I was woken up by these people fighting, roaring and shouting and kids crying. I left early the next morning as did some more patrons. I would think twice about staying here again.

Room Tip: Park close to the main entrance

Arrived there on bike last week looking to book in a two-man tent for one night. Two of my friends had arrived there two hours previously and had booked their two-man tent in for €15 for one night. When I got there I was informed that we would not be allowed to book in for one night, and we would have to book in for two. We explained that we only needed to stay for one night and that our companions had been allowed to book in for one night only but were met with indifference and we were bluntly told that as the campsite was busy they would not let us book for one night as they would loose money. The lady working behind the counter was rude and dismissive of us. It wasn't even what she said to us but was the manner in which she spoke to us. She had terrible interpersonal skills and was not in the slightest bit apologetic about the situation. In the end we left and paid more to stay in a B&B.

Just back from an excellent trip to keel Sandybanks caravan and camp park. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and had a speedy check in with great prices for camping only €18 a night for a big tent. All facilities on site campers kitchen, plenty of showers and toilets with lot of hot water. Fridges and freezer great extra for campers. Full laundry facility, iron and hair dryers. Wifi all round. Large community room with tv and lots of games and pool table even a high chair for babies. Staff always around the site very helpful and friendly. Location excellent for exploring Achill and directly on the beach overall this is a excellent camp site. Just one tip ensure you have cash as a lot of places don't take card although the Sandybanks do. Hope to return soon.
