When we visited the Elixir, it was undergoing a change in management. The Glow Brand, mostly located in various parts of Bangkok had bought it out and was re-branding the place. After reading some of the previous reviews, we can only imagine that this was a good thing. The staff is quite helpful and kind, the only issue was the lack of English speakers. The people at the front desk are fluent, but be prepared to have some back and forth with the waitresses if you want to modify any items on the menu, etc. The location is amazing, if isolated, and the beach could not be more lovely. If you take the ferry over from the various piers on the mainland, it will cost you 120-200 baht as well as a 500 baht cab ride from the northern pier. The prices of the cabs are set on the island as shown on a map, so unlike the rest of Thailand here it not the time and place to attempt to haggle. There is only one restaurant at the resort (that closes at 10pm) with a split menu of thai items and western items. Most of the food choices are solid yet not amazing. There is not much to do on the island itself, as it is mostly desolate except for a few other resorts and the locals. If you are looking for a party scene, then this is not...When we visited the Elixir, it was undergoing a change in management. Elixir does offer a range of free activities including nature walks, cooking classes and diving lessons, so if you are there for any extended period of time there are things to occupy your time. I do recommend bringing some wine or the like, as previously mentioned the restaurant does close at 10. The highlight of the entire place is without a doubt the beach. The water is clean and warm and at mid-high tide, the swimming couldn't be any better. We were only at resort for a couple of day, but we would have loved to stay longer if we could have.More
