We stayed at Aldiola Country Resort for a week in July 2011. A beautiful place, about 30 minutes drive from Olbia airport.

We enjoyed a wonderful week. The resort and bungalows has a good standard. The area is quiet and located in a beautiful countryside with lovely views.

We received excellent service throughout your stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

This place can be most warmly recommended.

Norwegian family from Oslo.

We loved our stay at Aldiola. The hotel is in a beautiful, if slightly remote location – and free parking is provided. The staff were incredibly friendly/welcoming – in fact the best welcome I think I’ve ever had! Guests stay in a well dispersed, comfortable chalets but each one is split, so serving 2 couples – but they do well to make them still feel private/individual. The room and bathroom were fine. The breakfast buffet was good (we ate outside with beautiful views over the lake and surrounding woodland) and their restaurant served good food in the evenings too. The pool is nice – fantastically located - but too cold for me in April (not heated). We also made use of the free bike hire. A great choice and if we go to Sardinia again, we’ll definitely be staying here again.

Room Tip: 101 doesn't have a lake view.

We have just returned from Sardinia after having stayed at the Aldiola country resort for 8 fantastic days. This was not our first stay, we had stayed two years ago just for a few days we enjoyed it so much we promised ourselves that we would return. The hotel is situated in the hills and valleys over looking a large lake.
Great beaches, harbor towns and sleepy villages are situated all around although you will need a car to explore them.

All the staff are very helpful and attentive, and the two chefs that prepared our evening meals were extremely talented we enjoyed every meal and the menu was changed daily.
The rooms are dotted around the hill side in pairs like small lodges overlooking the lake, our room had uninterrupted views (room 402) over the lake and through the valleys for what seemed miles.

The only problem was we had to come home.

Well done the staff of the Aldiola Country Resort keep up your high standards and we will be seeing you next year.

I will spare you the standard bladibla about how great, clean, good, everything about this hotel is (which doesn't make it less true: it really is great in every aspect you can think of), but i do want to share this with you:
We (me and my pregnat wife) went there for ten days on our last holiday as a couple without kids, and we were treated as such:
* On the first day of arrival, the chef found out we were pregnant. From that moment on, every meal we ate had been personnaly cared for by the chef to make sure my wife would not get anything to eat that a pregnant woman should not have.
* We spent one evening in the hospital, and missed out on dinner. When we came back from the hospital at 01:30, there was a big plate of fruit and salad, a bottle of oil and vinigar, bread, salt and pepper in our room, with compliments of the chef, because he assumed we would not have had a chance to eat during the hospital trip.
We were seriously emotionally touched when we said goodbeye on our evening before departure. Aldiola staff: We felt genuinly cared for, looked after, you guys are great. Thank you! We had an unforgetable experience with you.

Great stay in an idyllic place. People were really nice and helpful, the friendly spirit of italians was again a real pleasure.
Price is reasonable but shouldn't go higher. We really enjoyed to be located pretty away from the seaside as it helps you to discover much better the culture, the architecture and the best things from an island or a country. All people are rushing to some seaside hotels and see half of the beauty of Sardaigna. By going to Aldiola Resort, you already get a good insight of Sardaigna, amazing landscape, pure nature all around the resort, and villages from the center of Gallurese with really friendly people.
Considering the price of half-board,we were really satisfied with the food, they really must have improved since some past comments I could read from previous travellers, otherwise I don't understand.
You definetely need to rent a car, and move around. But where would be the pleasure of starring at the sea in Costa Smeralda. So if you feel like some adventure, open-minded, authentic experience from Gallurese, fantastic swimming pool with a great staff and peaceful environment, don't hesitate to try Aldiola.

Aldiola is in a gorgeous location with an elevated view of lake and hills and, despite (or maybe because of) being away from the coast, it makes a lovely quiet, peaceful place to stop and unwind for a short break. The setting is fantastic, and the grounds immaculate with interesting planting through which natural stone paths wander towards various little hillside chalets housing two rooms each. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and very clean, each with a different view. We were in room 401, with a lovely view directly down to the lake and no other buildings below us, or indeed visible at all. (Room 402 was next door, but a tasteful bit of hedging meant that each terrace felt fairly private). However, we decided that rooms 403 and 404 had the best location, as they had similar views but were angled so as to catch morning sunshine as well. Some other rooms only had sideways views of the lake, and some only a view across a small patch of water to the hill on the other side (still very green and open, but not as majestic as looking right down the lake). Bathrooms were adequate but not expansive, with slightly small shower cubicles and no bath.

The only reason we say ‘for not too long’ is because of the dining room and food which, although better than many places and nothing to actively complain about, were far from inspiring. We visited in mid May and were told that an early season special offer meant that half board was the same price as B&B, which meant that going out for dinner would have involved missing a €30 dinner to pay again elsewhere. And although I’m not sure about here, I know that many such places in Sardinia insist on half board in the peak season. So, either way, you are stuck with the hotel dinners. These are pleasant typical Italian 4-course meals with a choice of about 3 things on each of the first three, but no choice for dolce (pudding). However, chef is no culinary genius and it’s all a bit basic. This combines with a dining room which is functional, boring and inside (an open terrace for dining in the persistent good weather of Sardinia would have made a big difference). All in all, then, if it had felt more like a restaurant experience rather than catering for a trapped audience, we might well have stayed longer. We moved on partly because the third night was the birthday of one of us, and it is not really a place for a celebration dinner (go to the Il Muto Agritourismo in Aggius like we did – you won’t regret it!)

We should finish by saying that the staff were charming and helpful throughout, including making up our preferred room into a double bed from two singles for us, and the breakfast waitress cooking us some scrambled egg herself the morning the chef seemed to be absent. There is wifi in the reception/pool area at €5 per day. These days I think wifi should not be charged, but it is still fairly rare in Sardinia so I was grateful to have it.
