“Really enjoyed our stay”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

We stayed for 10 days at the summertime hotel/apts on an all-inclusive basis. We had a lovely time! Really can't understand these bad reviews?

The hotel rooms were set out in a series of blocks, most of the accomodation in Sidari seemed to be like this. It was strange at first because I've only stayed in big hotels before, so it was different staying in somewhere smaller.

The room was small but very clean, and kept this way throughout our stay by the maids. The pool area was spotless, plenty of sunbeds, tables, umbrellas etc. There was a small pool for kids. The larger pool was great, very deep though so maybe not suitable for smaller children (they have the kids pool anyway so no probs)

The food was DELICIOUS, especially the lunch and dinner! There was not a large choice, due to the hotel being small, it would be a waste for them to provide hundreds of options. There was always lots of fresh salad, bread and soup. Then there would be several different 'hot meal' choices, which would vary from day-to-day. I especially enjoyed the moussaka, more tasty than the one I had in a restaurant one night! Also, the free ice-cream (available free all day) was delicious - so creamy and yummy. There was also a nice choice of soft and alcoholic drinks to help yourself to.

Staff very friendly when you needed to speak to them, but not at all "in-your-face".

The hotel was very close to the beaches and the main street (shops/bars/restaurants) but without being right in the middle of everything - so it was nice and quiet, but only a 5 minute walk away from the more lively end.

Sidari was a beautiful little town, the beaches were stunning, and the bars/restaurants we went in were all really nice. We loved our holiday and would definitely go back to Corfu.

O K it was an economical holiday. I read the reviews and I always go with an Open MInd... But the bad reviews were true!! I am a bit fussy when it comes to eating abroad anyway, don't really like foreign food so I tend to pick Englishified hotels. But the food was awful, very limited, nearly always the same everyday, there was only about 3/4 dessert choices daily, we mainly ate the ice cream! The accommodation was very basic, but very clean, a maid visited every day, this was mainly due to the fact that in Corfu you have put soiled toilet paper in a bin, this I found very distasteful. It felt like we were in Prison, with all the rules and regulations and that the Hotel owner sat and watched at meal times and at the bar at evening times, felt like we were being supervised like children, I found this very disconcerting!! The staff didn't need to be supervised has they knew their jobs and worked very hard, they were very friendly which was a shame because they don't deserve to be treated like this. Sidari itself was OK but wouldn't go back there. This certainly wasn't a 4* hotel more like 0*.... The Smugglers Inn down the road was an excellent place to go for excellent food and a very warm welcome and was run by English people, a warm retreat....

My husband and Myself ( Les and Tricia) spent a week at the Summertime 16 - 23 May 2013
After reading previous reviews I was a little worried, but must say the rooms although basic were spotless, the beds a little firm but comfy and bedding and towels clean.
We have been on many AI holidays where the amount and variety of food was vast. at the summertime there was not lots of choice, but the food that was served was well cooked and very nice and we had some lovely Greek dishes ( I also fell in love with the feta cheese and salad).
The drinks were self service up until 9.30pm, then served in the Albatross bar at 9.30pm until 11pm free, then you paid after 11pm.
There were three beaches all just a short walk away, there is not a lot to see in Sidari, but we just went for a weeks rest in the sun and that is what we got.
We met some wonderful people and had a great time.
Staff were lovely and very helpful especially Yotta (Dining room) Costas ( Barman) Maria( reception) Widge ( Night watchman) and Costas the boss.
Will definitely go back and recommend to family and friends.

this was a nightmare, how travel company's dare send paying guest's to this self survival camp is beyond me. looking at pics of previous years it looked ok for a cheap break!! but on arrival it was something out of a horror setting, the staff, one friendly english bloke remainder non talkative, no rep around for any company to complain too for obvious reasons, food was terrible no wonder they have so many dogs around,no-one eats it. breakfast is re-served as childrens portions, same repetitive meals day in day out. we ate out everyday. the rooms small and cramped, lived out of suitcase, no shower holder so you had to dance and hope you could juggle at the same time, no shelving for toiletries, electrics are on and off, lights held up by eye screws!! phone does'nt work just for show, pool area is a health hazard. at night your fighting the bugs for the beds!! matress lol hard board and baby matress with razor blade pillow, if you dont drink thers no kettle provided so you end up with a mouth like arabs underpants. dont go hire a car and sleep in it that would be 5 star'

Room Tip: there are no tips for a good room its trying to find one !!!!

I am giving this hotel a very good rating due mainly to the friendliness & helpfulness of all the staff! A special mention to Yotta, Emmy, Maria, Costas & Costa (hope I spelled their names properly) They could not do enough for you & were always chatty without being annoying.
The hotel itself was about 10min walk away from main town, but there were no shortage of bars etc nearby.
The rooms though fairly small were enough to satisfy our needs (4 guys in their prime lol), a place to put your head down and to shower. Linen was changed once & towels three to four times in a week. Room was cleaned everyday apart from the Sunday.
Food in the restaurant was fair but not to everyone's taste. I particularly loved the Feta Cheese, but was not too impressed at the breakfast offer! At lunch & dinner there was always something to eat even with the limited choice. All flavours of plain ice cream were available all day.
Drinks at the pool bar till 9:30pm were self service, thereafter in the Albatross Bar till 11pm. After 11pm it's pay bar, but reasonably priced.
Across the road we found this great bar that served wonderful Scottish & English breakfast. For the price you pay 4 to 5 Euro, at Shooters bar you get your monies worth.
The hotel seemed to be very busy for the time of year probably due to the very cheap price you pay, but as it was early June I found it very difficult to understand why there were so many British school kids, as both Scottish & English schools were still in Term.
Overall the 4 of us enjoyed our stay at the Summertime.
Thanks to all the staff

My sister booked these appartments for 8 of us girls aged 18-53 to celebrate a 50th birthday. After reading the reviews I panicked! Needlessly as it turned out. The staff are wonderful, how they work so hard with some often rude and abusive customers whilst still smiling is beyond me. The rooms are clean and comfortable, linen is changed regularly and the food well cooked and presented. I'm a strict vegetarian but there was always something for me at every sitting. In fact the Briam was the best I've ever had! We heard people complaining that the food was rubbish.... No burgers or fish fingers! Hey, this is Greece. Sidari was a new experience for me, as although I have visited Greece and her Islands for the past 40 years, I've never had this sort of holiday. The Canal D'Amour is stunningly beautiful and an absolute must see. For entertainment, "Lady Jane" was superb.Thank you to Maria, Kostas, Costa and Panyouta for a lovely stay.
