My girlfriend and I stayed here in September and it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The room was like a prison cell with metal stairs, shutters etc and the facilities were useless. The room was also so dirty and dated & they need to do something about it. We tried to change our room but the owners looked on us with contempt and we had to lump it. From then onwards they blanked us and were the rudest hotel owners I've ever come across. The people that rave about this place must have stayed in the newer accomodation blocks because i can't believe anyone would give 5 stars to what we had. We did change to another hotel after 3 days and paid a fee but it was worth it as we had friendly staff and accommodation that was what you would expect and hope for on a holiday. I wouldn't go back there if you paid me!!

We stayed for two weeks at the end of September. The accommodation is ok, not great but not bad. The pool is always clean. Food very good and loads of it. And good value. But Sunshine is not a very welcoming place apart from Tony the barman and as he has now gone this is not a place we would recommend. The owners don't seem to get on with each other and they are not very good with people - and their english is poor. There is a strange atmosphere in the evening; they both sit there in the bar while you are eating or drinking and it's like you are being watched and judged.

One more big but. My wife 'lost' a dress from the apartment. We didn't notice until the last day. Of course, things do go missing and accidents happen but it is difficult to see how there could be an innocent explanation for this.

We would go back to Corfu, and Sidari but not Sunshine.

We ate out most of the time because we wanted to see other places (and as I said above, the atmosphere wasn't great at Sunshine) - try Shooters Bar for a great breakfast, the Orchard in the evening, or the Three Little Pigs and the Face (3 visits, lovely seafood). Went to Kassiopi for the day - very pretty place. Also Corfu town is well worth a visit for the shopping. And we went to Erikousa Island - lovely beach.

Finally, TONY WILL BE MISSED!!!!! And if you are reading this Tony, good luck in your new venture!!!

We stayed here for one week in May 2012 along with a couple of our friends, the reason I picked here was that when I stayed in Sidari before we used to pass Sunshine apartments & often used to have breakfast here which is okay & I thought the accommodation looked nice. However the apartments are in serious need of an update very basic & the shower rooms downright dangerous - no rail for when you step onto the slippery tiled floor, the signs in the bathroom say not to put towels on the floor but as you are not provided with bath mats & after several near misses of a serious fall I did start putting a towel on the floor which did soak up a lot of excess water. The balcony we were on was ground floor level & there was an ants nest just around the side so we were plagued with them for the first day or two until after complaining Athena came round & laid a small plastic trap down but the ants seemed to love this & it didn't deter them so I had to go & buy Ant spray from the local supermarket, that got rid of them. Tony behind the bar was really nice & so was Athena but I think her English is as good as our Greek in that the only thing we got out of her was "You're welcome". We did go to view Palmar apartments on the opposite side of the road & just down a little from Sunshine & these were so much nicer & we wish we had gone there instead because as much as we love Corfu we have never actually been in any nice accommodation but it wouldn't stop us from visiting Corfu as we love it & everything about the island, the Corfiots are so welcoming.

We hired a car from Vllaseros Travel which is near the three pigs in Canal d'amour area, their prices are pretty reasonable. Eating out is easy in Sidari so many places to choose from but our fave is definitely The Orchard which is only around 5 mins walk from the Sunshine apartments just turn right & carry on walking & they are on the left hand side of the road (same as the Sunshine). also for snacks & gorgeous cakes & lovely friendly chat try Jeni's its only very small but you will be welcomed as if you're old friends. Fagins is also nice for a little taste of home. We did try Three pigs but don't rate it
