Well where to start! Arrived at the Kanali at about 9pm (the transfer is 2 hours but you soon forget that when you arrive) to meet Jeni waiting for us with her truck to ferry the luggage up the path to the apartments. Straight away she made us feel special and she was so excited to show us the view from our apartment. And boy what a view! We had a two bed apartment on the 2nd floor and the view over the sea with Albania across the water was to die for. All apartments have the sea view too. To see the red sun rise over Albania EVERY morning was such a treat. The apartments are spacious, having two bedrooms, a small kitchen area with a table and chairs and a TV in both bedrooms. Bathroom fine with a good shower giving plenty of hot water. The apartments are a little dated but they were airy and clean. Air con was 7 euros a day but worth it! Maids come in every day to empty bins and sweep up, change bins etc and clean towels and bedding every other day. No complaints there at all.
The staff at the Kanali are amazing. So customer centered. NOTHING is too much trouble. Spiros, Peri, Jeni, George and Costas were lovely. Spiros is such a gent. Quiet and unassuming but with an eye on everything, Peri was such a gracious lady who went out of her way to speak and make you feel welcome, Jeni, well she is a star. i dont think she ever sleeps with all the hard work she puts into the Kanali, her Cafe and her dogs! Her Cafe is just over the bridge and to the left and serves gorgeous cakes, including her homemade cheescake! George and Costas worked the bar in shifts and obviously enjoyed their work and it showed in there fantastic service, they always had time for a chat and a laugh. I have never stayed somewhere that made you feel so welcome and at home.
The Canal d'Amour is off the beaten track to Sidari, which for us was great (Sidari strip is about 15-20 mins away). Wasnt a fan of Sidari strip or its beach but the Canal area has more than enough places to eat and drink and the 3 beaches near to the Kanali were perfect. There is the little cove to the right which looks just like a postcard, the tiny beach right in front of the Kanali where you could walk out to the two 'rocks', or the bigger beach to the right which had pedelos etc and was a longer stretch of beach. We felt no need to go near the main beach at Sidari.
Locally to the Kanal i would recommend the following places to eat, the Aquarious attached to the Kanali, Sympiosa, which was just over the 'bridge' and to the right (opposite the 3 little pigs), the Konkali (best Tzaziki i have ever had), the Pizza place just round the corner, fab oven baked pizza, the 3 Little Pigs was very nice food but was rather bustling and busy, but never had to wait for food and the belly dancer was good fun. The little gem we did find for lunch time was Litskas place, again over the bridge and turn right at the 3 Little Pigs. She serves Gyros at 1 euro 90 and they were lovely. We, as a family of 4 ate there one lunchtime for less than 10 euros!!
We found the Canal area very reasonable and our money went a lot further than we thought it would. Drinks all reasonable as was food. Never spent more than 50-60 euros on 2-3 courses and drinks (and sometimes we spent less!!)
The trips to Paleo, Corfu Town and the boat trips all reasonable prices and well worth doing. The only thing i could have asked for better would be the travelling time to Corfu Town by bus, usually about 1 hour 30 mins. Would probably be better if you hire a car as makes life so much easier.
Absolutely loved this place and will return. Kids had a ball and made so many friends. As i said, when we left we got hugs from everyone which made me cry (and I have NEVER done that before LOL). Cant wait to come back!!! Thankyou everyone at the Kanali for making this the best holiday ever!

If you get chance to go, you must !! We stayed in a 2 bed apartment. Huge, clean and the views over the sea and mountains are breathtaking.
Steady 10 mins walk to all amenities in Sidari. Great restaurants, good food, lots of shops. Day trip to Corfu town a must, very pretty cobbled streets and lovely harbour.
Jenny and Spiros welcome you like old friends, Jenny is amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The Greek night at Aquarius is not to be missed, brilliant night.
Probably one of the best places we have been for the budget, waking up to those views will stay with you forever.
Thanks Jenny and Spiros for a great holiday.

We have just returned from yet another amazing holiday at the Kanali Apartments.

Our first stay was in 2000, since then we have returned twice a year, and do not want to spend our holidays anywhere else!!
The apartments all have sea views and overlook the beautiful Canal D'Amour area of Sidari. The complex is run by Jeni, who ensures you have an enjoyable stay and nothing is to much trouble for her. The apartments are cleaned every day with fresh towels and sheets changed every 3 days. If you don't want to take washing home there is also a laundry service for a small charge. The complex has a large swimming pool with a separate childrens pool. Plenty of sunbeds available, free safe deposit boxes in reception.

The beach is accessable directly in front of the apartment, only a few yards away!
There are pedaloes and other activities.

The Aquarius Restaurant Taverna is run by Spiros and his friendly staff. There is an extensive menu with good portions of both greek and english food.... the lamb kleftico is to die for! If you wish to eat in your rooms then a takeaway service is available.
There are Greek Nights with greek dancing and plate smashing, Quiz Nights and internet access.

Trips are available at a reasonable cost from various travel offices in the town.
I recommend Corfu Town, Paleokastritsa, and Kasioppi. For the more adventurous there is the beach barbeque and also Albania. Car hire is from 18 euro's a day.

For those who like Bailey's cheescake, you must visit Jeni's Cafe which is situated half way into town. It is an ideal stop off for a snack, coffee or cold beer!! I recommend Jeni's tuna and egg mayonaise rolls! There is also free WFI access and a computer for customers use.
For your flight home why not use Jeni's takeaway service.

Jeni is passionately involved with the charity which helps to re-home stray and abandoned cats and dogs in Sidari and surrounding areas. To raise money for the charity and to help feed them, calendars are on sale at the cafe. The calendars feature the dogs and cats that have been re-homed with their special stories, and also Costa, " the fishing dog" ......an Ideal gift or souvenir.

Just come back from Corfu, after having stayed at the Kanali Apartments, Sidari.

On arrival, Jeni was very welcoming and friendly. We arrived at 6.30am and she kindly asked if we needed any water or anything. The apartment had 2 spacious bedrooms, a small bathroom with a shower and a simple, basic kitchen area and table and chairs. It was a bit dated, nevertheless left very clean and tidy. The beds were regularly changed, as were towels. The housekeeping was very good. The only problem, which we often find when we go anywhere abroad, is that the matresses on the beds were quite hard and the pillows could've been better. Air conditioning is switched on in June, but we had a very hot week, with temperatures of 28degrees +, but it was just about bearable!

As the week progressed, we found that Jeni was an excellent host. She gave us lots of tips and information, and was constantly seen around the complex, smiling and making sure all holidaymakers were happy! The Greek Night on Thursday was fantastic. The bar staff and Jeni made sure we all had a superb night and the dancers were great. They also involved lots of the audience too, making it a memorable night - even my partner was picked out to do some belly dancing! The food was quite good there, with generous portions, although we preferred going to a restaurant recommended by Jeni. It's called Pizza Romana in the centre of Sidari, behind the little church near the square. It is a Greek/Italian restaurant serving very good food. We tried lots of different dishes - all very tasty and generous portions at a very reasonable price.

The centre of Sidari is very 'Blackpool in Corfu', with lots of bars, souvenir shops, burger places, etc. Kanali Apartments are approximately a 20 min walk away from all the hustle bustle. They are currently working on building pavements, which are much needed, as we found it was dangerous at times walking along the road. Just be careful if you've got young children. We enjoyed the 'Danny Stafford' drag show in Madison bar and the bars there in general are done out very well. Drinks are a lot cheaper than Spain. 1 Euro 50 for a beer and about 3.5 Euros for shorts and cocktails. The average main course cost about 7 Euros in most places, so very reasonable.

We hired a car for a few days which worked out 20 Euros per day. There are some erratic drivers out there and some very narrow, twisty roads up in the hills with lots of dips and pot holes - so drive with care. I am a woman and I coped fine! It is well worth exploring the island, as there are stunning views and beautiful places. We visited Paleokastritsa, Agios Georgios and Agios Stefanos beaches - all lovely places. You can get to lots of places very cheap via Coach. Prices are very reasonable from all the places that offer excursions. Corfu Town was a lovely place to visit. Beautiful architecture and we walked around the New Fortress there. Views were great from the top and it was interesting exploring inside it! Aqualand was ok for a family day out. We paid 23 Euros per adult and 17 for my daughter...and got a coach there. It actually cost 25 Euros to pay to get in if you drove there by yourself, so if you go, do so by coach as it's cheaper!

The beach at Sidari is mostly clean. However, we preferred the little beach and coves next to the unusual rock formations next to Kanali Apartments.

This was our first time in Greece. Had a very enjoyable break away. If you've not been to Corfu, it is well worth a visit. There were lots of places we didn't see, but we were told to stay well clear of Kavos - unless you want a Club 18-30 holiday!

We found Sidari was a place for couples and families. In the summer season it probably attracts a few groups of younger singles/hen parties, etc...but we hardly saw any groups of people like that whilst we were there!
