This was our third visit ,what lucky people we are ! . What makes these excellent apartments are the staff , so to Nikos,Spiros, Kelly, Perry, and George , plus all of the other staff who do a fatastic job,a very big thank you. I know this website is to give my views on the the accommodation but frankly they are not number 1 for nothing. All I can say is that the only way to confirm most other people's impressions is to go for yourself and enjoy. The Daves will return ! .

Well where do we start?

I cannot find fault with the kanali apartments and if you don't have time to read my review below ......................based on previous stays in sidari at so called 3 star hotel, this should be up in the 5 star catorgorie!

ROOMS-nice and spacious,2 bedroom apartments, both bedrooms have 2 bedside cabinets, dressing table with stool and mirror, tv with news channel, weather channel and a movie channel, large double patio doors leading out to a lovely patio with table, chairs and washing lines. The view from the patio is stunning! I challenge anyone to get a better view anywhere in the whole of Greece. Fantastic views of the rock, the sea and albania!

Kitchen has more than enough space. Bathroom nice with a powerful shower. A rarity in any hotel I have stayed in while holidaying in Greece!

Air conditioning is available at an extra charge, but well worth the 5 euro a day. Keeps the room nice and cool during the 42 degree outside heat!

POOL- is kept clean and lovely and cool. More than enough loungers around pool and on grassed area. Although the folk reserving the beds at 1am in the morning can be a little irritating!

GROUNDS- are well kept and look beautiful from your balcony.

FOOD- The Aquarius has the most delicious food. A great menu with good prices. not the cheapest but the standard is so much better than the food you would get in down town sidari with a far better service. All of the team here really do their very best to look after you and all of your needs are met. My mom had a birthday on the Thursday and Kelly did a great job organising the cake and getting the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday.

Loads of food i could recommend but youmust make sure you try the stuffed feta burger, the great pizzas, the kleftico and the best of all the shrimp saganaki.

Spiros, George, kelly and the others as said before offer unbeatable service and all with a smile. You must eat at the taverna on a Tuesday, theres a great greek night where you get to join in the dancing and plate smashing.

The best recommendation i can provide is that we have already booked for next year for another two weeks.

Hope this helps and have a great holiday

Andy

This was our third stay at The Kanali, and the first time we were able to stay for 2 weeks.
What can I say that hasn’t been said already? Nikos, Spiros, George, Kelly & Peri and all of the rest of the hardworking staff are the best hosts you could ever wish for, (including all-rounder Mario who provides the best poolside BBQ in Sidari). The apartment was the same one we stayed in July 2011 (308) so it was just like ‘coming home’. Since our last holiday the shower has been upgraded – WOW!! A glass fronted enclosure so no soggy shower curtain. Superb!! As an additional touch there are little complimentary soaps and shampoos for you in the bathroom – lovely.

Studios cater for up to 3 people. There are 3 proper single beds (none of your 2 beds plus sofa-bed nonsense) and there are 3 of all cutlery, cups, glasses, plates etc. On arrival, the towels were made into butterflies on our beds, which was another lovely touch.

The air con has a sensor, located on the sliding doors to the balcony, which shuts off the air-con when the door is open, which is a very sensible idea. If someone in the room wants the air con on and another person wants to sit outside on the balcony admiring the stunning views, simply close the sliding door.

The cleaning team are as efficient as ever, coming in 3 times a week – actually, I believe they came in most days (linen & towels changed twice weekly). Wifi is free throughout the apartments and the signal is often quite strong (although I did have a few problems staying connected with my laptop at times but that’s to be expected).
Air con is 40 euros per week and is excellent value for money and a real must in the summer months.

The swimming pool is lovely and clean and is open from 9am-7pm. There is a smaller kiddies pool and a larger pool next to it. There are loads of sun-loungers and sun shades around the pool as well as some set back slightly on a grassy area.

Reception at the Kanali is open all day (08:00 – 00:00) and is manned 10:00-12:00 and 18:00-20:00. Outside of these hours, if you need anything at all the staff at The Aquarius Bar and Restaurant will soon sort you out.

The site itself is beautiful (lots of gorgeous flowers and the grass is mowed regularly). Why would you ever want to go anywhere else?!

Update: The Kanali are now extending their season – you can book direct for April 10th-May 10th 2013, plus October 2013.

just got back 3 days ago and all i can say is i cannot wait to back, everything about this hotel is excellent, from the location to the lovely food and the freindly staff, really enjoyed the greek night and the rock night, the food in the aquarius is gorgeous and really good value for money.
went down to the main strip on 2 occasions and to be honest i didnt like it down there, there are some really nice tavernas in the canald'amour area in particular CHURCHILLS, had a few good meals in there and they also do the best breakfast, the staff LUIGI and MARIO are very friendly and always do their best to make you feel welcome, definately going back next year.

Everything we read in trip advisor before booking is true . Smashing apartments and swimming pool with great views .
Their restaurant ,Aquarius , is a few strides away and is a great place to eat .
Their own rock band on Wednesday's is something else.
Lounge by the pool on free sunloungers and stroll from there for a dip in the sea , just one minute away .
All the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you .
Never written a review before and only got back at midnight last night .
That tells you how good it is !!!

Just returned from our second two week holiday at the Kanali and already booked for summer hols next year - I reckon from this declaration you can already guess the tone of this review!

Previously I was one of these people that would swear they would never return to the same resort or hotel as the second visit never lives up to the first time you visited..... how wrong a girl can be. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel like royalty by the completely gorgeus person that is Nikos (hotel manager and guitar maestro extraordinaire) and that set the tone for the next two weeks - it felt like we hadn't been away!

We stayed in 310 which is arguably the studio with the best views of the sea and Albania but don't worry as the Kanali's pool and attached restaurant 'Aquarius' overlooks the canal d'amour so you can soak up the spectacular views all around the complex, bliss. The balcony attached is sizeable with a table, set of chairs and washing line and offers a good respite from the scorching weather (we were there 8th - 23rd June 2012 and in the last few days the temperature was hitting 40 degrees.) The studio itself is spacious with beautiful wooden beams across the ceilings, lots of storage space for those holiday essentials and dining table if you choose to dine in your room (though generally it's cheaper to eat out) and more then adequate kitchen with toaster and essential kettle for that early morning cuppa. The bathroom is one of the best I've experienced in a Greek hotel/apartment with a proper shower cubical, powerful shower, hand basin, toilet and a hairdryer (decent enough but ladies, if you have long hair like myself I would recommend taking your own.) The rooms are cleaned daily by the very friendly cleaners and linen is changed basically every other day, another little extra from the Kanali team that does make a difference to your holiday.

The free(!?) safety deposit boxes for each room can be found in the reception area, along with books if you run out of reading matter and where you can generally find Nikos ever ready to help with any queries with a cheeky grin. Nikos is generally on site either in his room behind the reception or at the 'Aquarius' but if you can't find him just tell one of the guys behind the bar and they'll do their utmost to help you out or let Nikos know - you really are made to feel like part of the family and nothing is too much trouble.

And that basically finishes my love note to the Kanali apart from saying, be warned, if you decide to go it is like Hotel California "you can check out any time you like/ But you can never leave" cos you can't help but leave a little piece of your heart there, but it's in good hands until next year ('',)
