I really enjoyed my holiday to the Stema apartments. I was part of a group of 10 and we were all worried on the transfer as the hotels were a bit tacky and looked awful, but we were all relieved when we arrived at Stema. It was so much nicer than all the others, very well maintained.
I shared with 2 others, and was happy to find there were 4 beds and not 2 singles and a sofa bed. The room was very clean and tidy, however throughout the week it was noticed that the floor wasn't cleaned and room service was daily but only to change the bins, and every other day was to change towels. However this wasn't an issue.
The location is great! 10 mins from the 'strip' where all the bars and really good restaurants are. The beach is also 10 mins away, but there is a tiny strip of beach about 5 mins away but we never went there. I enjoyed the hotel pool so much I didn't even go to the beach! There is a local supermarket which is abour 5 mins down the road. Only get 1 toilet roll, then you have to buy your own. We got our water from the supermarket as it was a bit cheaper than at the hotel.
We ate at the hotel, mainly for lunch which was of same prices as local restaurants but the food was really nice. They didn't give as much as the local restaurants did, but was still filling.
The pool side was really nice, cleaned and maintained well. Always managed to get a sunbed, even when going down to the pool at 1pm!
I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone, and if I was to go back to Sidari, I would go back to this hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 week on a Thomsons late deal. On arrival we were very pleased with our decision to book the Stema. Our room was quite basic but adequate. One of the better 3 * self catering studios I have stayed in the Greece. There was a decent kitchen and bathroom and huge wardrobes. The sofa in the room did not look particularly clean but the rest of the room did. However in the week we stayed our room only got cleaned a couple of times and not thoroughly. Our bedding and towels were never changed and the bathroom was never cleaned. I did find this quite off putting. The communal areas always seemed to be cleaned though. There is a restaurant and bar where live music and games take place in the evenings. We did not eat at the hotel except from the occasional toastie which were very good! The service at the bar was always excellent. The pool is of a good size but as there was a large rowdy group also staying at the hotel we tended to head into town rather than stay by the pool. The couple of times we did stay by the pool was enjoyable until the groups arrival. They did take over the hotel quite a bit and were very loud. Had they not been there we would have spent more time at the hotel, using the facilities.

The hotel is situated just a 10 - 15 minute walk from the main centre of Sidari. The views are amazing on the walk over the sea to Albania. You do have to walk up a little dirt track to get to the hotel which is fine during the day but despite being with my husband I did not like it at night as it is pitch black (apart from the thousands of Fire Flies!).

Overall I think the Stema is fine. I wouldn't hurry back though.

We book these studios with Thompson's as a last minute deal. The brochure said the transfer was 2.5 hours however the transfer was only 1 hour. We were the last drop off from the coach and looking at some of the other hotels the Stemma looked the best.

On arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff who showed us to our room. The room was very spacious and clean. The pictures on the Thompson's websites are as we found the room. The down sides of the room are the kitchen is very poorly stocked and if you are planning on cooking on your holiday this would be very difficult.

The room was cool at the beginning off the week however as the weather become hotter the air conditioning would have been more than welcome. The cost of this is 40 euros. At night at no fault of the hotel be aware of Mosquitoes.

The room services was every 2 days. Compared to other hotels this was poor. the beds were not changed just made up. Towels needed replacing as old and stained. The room was not cleaned that well and by the end of the week the floors were quite dirty with no way of cleaning myself. The first toilet roll was included after this you have to buy your own.

The grounds of the hotel were very well maintained as was the pool area. There were plenty of sunbeds free although we only used the pool once it was warm. Drinks and food from the hotel bar was priced the same as the restaurants and bars in the town. A pint of local beer or a soft drink 2 euros. We did not use the hotel bar in the evenings, the noise seemed to be kept to a minimum however on occasions the noise from the bar could be quite load on the nights before change over day with music continuing until 2am.

The location was great a 5 min walk to the nearest beach and taverns. The main strip was a 10 min walk away along the seafront. The way was well lite with streetlights and was very safe. The nearest supermarket was 5 Min's from the hotel although a little more expensive than the ones in the main town but well worth not carrying the shopping as far.

Overall the hotel was well worth the stay and would recommend it to a friend looking for a good location and spacious rooms.

Stema studios is in an excellent location, it is 5 minutes walk away from the best restaurants in Sidari and 10 minutes from the 'strip' so you're just far enough away from the bars so that you're not disturbed at night. There is a supermarket at the bottom of the road which comes in handy (would be better to have one on site though).

The pool area is everything you'd hope for, the water temperature is very refreshing, and the bar/eating area is a nice retreat from the midday sun. The staff behind the bar are very friendly and offer great service.

Where the Stema studios needs some attention is the accommodation. The studio that we stayed in was in need of a thorough clean/refurbishment mostly in the bathroom. A small irritation was that the bed linen was not changed once in the week just 'made up' by the maids every couple of days. Also, the towels provided are in great need of replacement, i would recommend using your own if you have the room in your case.

All in all the Stema studios is a great place to stay in sidari based on location, pool & communal areas, however the accommodation requires some attention in order for it to achieve top marks.

Had a great holiday at Stema with Thompson. On the bus on the way there we were getting a bit worried as some of the hotels didn't look that nice and those that were had pools right on the road so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, Stema is definitley the best hotel in Sidari. It was about a 5/10 min walk from the main strip so you weren't disrupted by the noise of the bars etc but were close enough not to feel secluded. There were 4 of us in a one bedroom apartment but there was plenty of room and there were 4 beds rather than a sofa bed which was good. The hotel was family run and the staff were really friendly and they made a real effort to get to know you. They had a few of nights on, bbq, bingo, quiz - we only went to the bbq but heard good things about all. The pool was big and you could always get a sunbed.

We weren't overly impressed by Sidari it'self, the beaches were very narrow and not attractive at all. The main strip with bars and restaurants was ok but overly tacky, most bars had tribute nights on every night and the restaurants were very geared towards British tourists, although stating traditional Greek food everything was served with chips. Although this is the same in the majority of tourist locations it seemed overdone somehow. The rest of Corfu is beautiful so it's worth hiring a car or mopeds to do a bit of exploring.

We found a really nice restaurant on the beach front a close walk from the hotel which did do traditional Greek food called Kavvadios and also a local Greek/Italian restaurant just off the strip callled Romano's which was really good (massive portions!) It was however a lot cheaper than we expected with the Euro and Greek economy, we were getting a two course meal with wine for 15 euro each and all of the bars give you 241 drinks instead of free shots if you ask.

We took a tour into Corfu town one night which was worth it. The old town is beautiful with lots of very quaint streets and shops. There are loads of Jewellery shops and gold/silver is quite cheap.

We booked to stay at the Stemma after reading the reviews on here, and found an amazing deal with Thomson - we were hoping not to be disappointed and we certainly weren't. We were the last drop-off, and after looking at some of the other hotels in the area which all looked quite small and basic, we were getting a bit worried but had no need to. Stemma is about a 10 minute walk from the main street of Sidari down a gravel track and when we pulled up we were very pleasantly surprised. The pool was HUGE, and considering it was the middle of the day there were loads of free sunbeds and the pool was practically empty! Paula showed us to our room which was very spacious and clean, with well-equipped kitchenette. Air con was 40 euros a week but we didn't need it really, although it got hotter in the 2nd week.

The hotel and pool were kept immaculate throughout our 2 week stay - towels are changed every other day, and cleaners are there every day except Sunday. Cocktails at the hotel are lovely, and most of the food we had there at lunchtime was nice, and no more expensive than the restaurants.

Sidari itself is a nice place, nice beach and the Canal D-Amour end is very pretty, and brilliant viewpoint to watch the sunset. It can get quite lively in the evening but Stemma is well away from all the noise, and there are plenty of other quieter bars and taverna's to go to. It's quite an english resort with most places doing english breakfasts etc, but all the restaurants do greek food which is all really nice, and there's loads of variety; chinese, italian, indian etc. Most annoying thing is the people who stand outside the restaurants and bars and try and get you in - we found that walking around during the day to decide where to eat in the evening worked well, as you can look at the menu's in peace! Didn't really have any bad experiences with food, but the best places are definately China Town, Bed bar, Calypso and Mediterraneo.

Would definately recommend this holiday, particularly the Stemma, it's the nicest hotel in the area with the biggest pool and very friendly staff!
