“Sidari - Visit No.2”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

Me and my girlfriend have visited Sidari twice now, this year we visited in July, the previous year we stayed in next-door Kanali (Usually in the Top 3 of Sidari hotels).

The rooms at Olga's were clean, tidy and well equipped, we even got a complimentary bottle of local wine which was nice. All the staff (all family as I understand) were lovely and all very helpful and there's usually someone around almost 24/7. The pool and bar were great and very relaxing and the food served was pretty good and well-priced. The hotel is in a fantastic location, in walking distance to everything you'd need and not too close to the strip that the loud music would be an issue at night.

We weren't sure what we thought at first as we had high expectations from the year before, but in the end we decided Olga's was a fantastic hotel, my girlfriend even preferred it to Kanali. The only draw backs from Kanali were that we had a few ants pop up every now and then, A/C was a must (we didn't need it in Kanali the year before, the room just stayed a bit cooler) and the balcony view was of the backside of Kanali (whereas most of the Kanali rooms look out over the sea, which was an amazing view).

But overall, Olga's was a great hotel in a great location in proximity to the beach, the main strip and everything you'd need for a great holiday. If we return to Sidari we'd definitely consider staying again and we'd definitely recommend this hotel!

Stayed at Olga's from 27th September for seven nights. We went with another couple and had requested rooms next door to each other which we got, unfortunately one had a balcony that was set further back than the other so we couldn't really sit and chat much but never mind. The rooms are typically Greek, basic but clean. We were lucky and had no problem with ants but our friends had lots and lots. Ria on reception was very friendly. On arrival we asked about Air con but we were told that it wouldn't be needed as it was cool enough during the night. Being as though the weather was unusually hot for the time of year I would disagree. My husband in particular had difficulty sleeping as the room was so stuffy and we couldn't risk opening the balcony doors due to the mozzies. The hotel was closing for the end of the season the day after we left so I feel that the real reason they didn't want to put the AC on was because there was hardly anyone left in the hotel and it would not have been economical. That's fair enough but the offer of a fan would have been a nice gesture. The plus side of not having many other guests in the hotel was that we had the pool to ourselves most days-no scrambling for sunbeds, bliss. The pool area was very pleasant and the breakfasts we had were good value too. There was no Mythos on draught and the bottled ran out on day two but thankfully an order was placed and stocks were replenished.
There were lots of nice restaurants, The Orchard was good, Mediteranneo(?) La Strata and another one with a large pizza oven were all good. In general a main meal and a litre of house wine for two came to about 30 euros. We had a good night out in One for the Road with a good band called Splintered but a few nights later we went back and a Blues Brothers tribute band was on and they weren't so good.
In general a very pleasant stay made better by the hot weather and friendly staff. Would I go back? PRobably not but only because there are lots more places I would like to visit.

I know I have reveiewed this is in the past but again this year they continued to beat all expectations. As we are a large crowd they even arranged a large bbq at the pool one night. We paid for all the meat etc and they provided all the extra's and cooked all the food and ate with us. They are a fantastic team and have held a few weddings and receptions at the hotel as well. As this is family run you can expect everyone to chip in. The rooms are cleaned daily and as is always the case in Greece self catering towels and bedding every few days but if you asked for a small fee you could pay to have them changed more. The food an options this year were more extensive as well and Mike & Spirros are just the best...Ria & Sia keep them all in line. You really can't find a more helpful and fun team in Sidari and the location is great as you are 2 minutes from Canal D'Amour and a 5/10 minute walk from the town centre...2 minute max from the beach. Sidari is a great town as well as you have something for everyone and it attracts all age groups...although the Roy Chubby Brown act sucks...

Room Tip: All rooms are great although I have self catering apartment in the main hotel.

Stayed here for my 21st birthday
amazing hotel quiet and staff are really nice
Arrived at 5am and Mike was there waiting for us and he drove our bags up to the hotel and we walked and he showed us to the room and explained where everything was and they provided us with a comp bottle of water
our room was located at the front of the hotel in the main building above reception on the first floor and at the end of the corridor so it was perfectly quiet and compared to the hotel I stayed in Zante this was perfect and the staff acknowledged you and even though you had to leave your keys with reception at least she recognised you when you came in and had your keys ready for you
A nice large lobby with TV and internet access which is chargeable but not needed for very long, short walk to the pool and always had loungers available and a large space in the pool bar, short walk to a superstore which provides you with everything you need and you can stock up
A nice large balcony in each room and still far enough away from everyone else
Hotel is close to everything, beach, shops

Room Tip: any of the rooms are perfect as it is off the main road so no noise problems

We stayed at Olga's from 7 to 21 July 2012 and we had a lovely holiday. Mike, Ria and everyone else were lovely - couldn't do enough to help. Food at pool bar was very nice and the pool area is lovely, no problem getting a sunbed and the pool was really clean. The air conditioningin the rooms needs updating though. A group of 50+ school kids from Slovenia arrived for a four night stay midway through our holiday - it wasn't a problem for us but some other guests had complained - Ria and Mike got it sorted straight away. Lovely beaches and a good selection of restaurants nearby, also in Sidari itself which is a ten minute walk away. The touts for bars and restaurants got on our nerves a little bit but they were nowhere near as pushy as we've experienced in other countries and resorts. Absolutely loved Corfu - beautiful island but the mosquitos were vicious!!
