“a good holiday”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

just back from from a week at the mimosa hotel we enjoyed our our holiday . staff were very pleasent and helpful and friendly at all times ...the rooms were basic but were very clean as the maids were in cleaning every day and fresh towels every day also, we had a room with sea view which was very nice. the food was nice but could do with more choice for breakfast. the pool area was very nice and clean. there is a pool to the back of the hotel which is good if you just want quite and not as busy ....the hotel is in a good location for the beach and shops ect... we had a great time and we would go back to this hotel..

Room Tip: ask for asea sea view rooms are nice

Found the hotel room dirty, toilet pipe taped up with tape.Cleanliness a lot to be desired.
However pool clean and well maintained, but surrounding area not maintained.
Seems to be a hotel where the older generation seem to meet up for their hols.
On the plus side cannot fault the staff.
Has anyone heard of the tax police????????
Be warned do not eat or drink any of your own stuff at the pool!!!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room if there is any?

Just come back from mimosa great location crap hotel says fully refurbished in brochure unless your stopping in the front block this is untrue, our room 810 was dirty and furniture was outdated never cleaned properly only made bed and emptied bin changed towels every two days had a shower on first day bathroom got soaked so put towels on floor after using them to soak up water next day maid at put same towels over balcony to dry and expected us to use again so phoned reception to ask for new towels they refused to give new towels.amy the rep sticks up for the hotel not the people she is supposed to be representing, meals are very small children get same size as adults ,dead Mozis all over the walls in room.location of the hotel is great that's about it.

I stayed here with my adult daughter. The resort itself would not have been our ideal location but that has not influenced our opinion of the hotel.
Much has already been said by other reviewers so rather than repeat it I shall list my comments in bullet points.

Good points..........
1. Efficient staff
2. Good evening meals with plenty of choice and good mix of Greek cuisine
3. Close to beach, bars and restaurants
4. Reasonable value for money.

Not so good........
1. Poor standard of cleanliness in room and public areas, e.g.
blood-stained smears from dead mosquitoes all over walls. Beds made but never changed.
2. Basic breakfast - not true Continental breakfast, e.g. no croissants, cheese, etc. Coffee from machine poor quality.
3. Refurbished rooms.....where?

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back are quieter.

My wife and in-laws have been here several times. She asked me to write a review with the following..."we as a family love the mimosa, and if left to us would visit every year! It is basic but so are most hotels in Greece, it's just the way of life there. The mimosa is very close to everything, bars, restaurants, waterpark, beach and the wonderful canal d'amour. Rooms kept very clean as are towels etc. b&b is (in our eyes) good value. The pools are nice and clean and the atmosphere is great. We recommend as families and if you are unsure, for the price why not try a week? Sidari is however the north of Corfu and the transfer is over an hour but the views are breathtaking! "

There you go. I am going there all being well next year as we have our awesome trip in 5 weeks to the hotel riviera port el kantaoui Tunisia so watch for review of that one :)

We were initially pleased with our room as it was spacious and had plenty of drawers and a wardrobe. However there were very few coathangers but we managed by haning several garments on each hanger which isn't really ideal.
The cleaner came in each days and emptied the bins and made the beds. The bathroom was never cleaned during our 8 day holiday. The toilet was very stained because it obviously never got cleaned. The hand basin was not cleaned as there was scum round it and the taps were splashed and not cleaned. There was a piece of grass in the showere all week so that was not cleaned either. We were on the top floor so were the last to be cleaned and by the time the cleaner reached our floor she was due to go off duty.
The breakfast buffet service was abysmal. It was cramped and everyone had to queue into a very tight space. The toaster was in a corner and the coffee maching was in a nother corner with the hot food and cereals in the middle. There was a choice of three cereals each day and the hot food gave a choice of two items eg scrambled egg and bacon or tomatoes and bacon. It was never very warm anyway. There was only white bread which was very dry. There was a choice of coffee or tea. I cannot have caffeine so asked if they had any decaffienate coffee but they didn't know what I was talking about. There was also orange juice.
The breakfast was from 7.30 to 9.30 but at exactly 9.30 everything including the cups were cleared away. Due to the cramped conditions and the lack of choice everyone was in the same place and it took a long time to get your breakfast so even if you went down at 9 o clock it was not always possible to get your breakfast before they cleared away.
The dinners were edible but not at all special and again the food was always lukewarm.
The entertainment was ok but again very basic. On our last night the poster said it was traditional greek dancing so we were looking forward to seeing that. However it was just two of the waiters and the barman and they were still in their waiter uniforms and seemed to be making it up as they went along. We were not impressed.
Overall we didn't feel we had value for money from this hotel
