This is the 3rd time the wife and I have stayed here and it wont be the last. This is a great family run place where everyone is friendly and welcoming, and relaxing is easy to do. The food offered is exceptionally good and very reasonably priced, the rooms are spacious and clean and are a big step up from the usual (basic) found in Greece. The atmosphere at the pool bar during the day and night is great, and their Greek nights are very entertaining. It is only a 5 minute walk from the canal d'amour area, and 10 minutes from Sidari main centre. There is also plenty of scope for those who enjoy walking in the countryside as the scenery is amazing, with plenty of local taverna's to stop at when a drink is needed. Overall I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Stayed here with my boyfriend in September 2011 - the apartments and the staff really made the visit something special! We arrived at 11:30pm to the staff knowing exactly who we were and escorting us straight to our room. The apartments are in a great location - a walk down to the canal d'amour is an absolute must!! The apartments were large, clean and provided all we needed for a good self catering break. The staff behind the bar would always stay up until you were ready to go to bed - I left my handbag in the bar one evening, the next morning they were knocking on the door to hand it back... the pool, loungers, bar and restaurant were ace! The greek night is a must! Only negatives I can think of are - the air con, amazingly expensive (approximately 13 euros a day) and to be quite picky the beds were a little hard. Do not hesitate to book these apartments, you wont be disappointed!

Went to Palmar in September for my Husbands birthday for 10 days - the best 10 days ever !! I must have been the only one that booked a holiday and then looked at the reviews!
Palmar is a fantastic place to stay if you want piece and quiet, but having said that it wasnt all piece and quiet - night times were fantastic - jumping in the pool fully clothed at 3 in the morning is a must!
Costas and Evie are amazing and of course Spiros and Susannah (didnt see much of them because unfortunately they had to go to Athens while we were there) but my bestest new Mum is Maria she is wonderful and her cooking is out of this world - we ate at the Palmar every night.
The minute we arrived we felt at home, the apartment was clean and had everything you needed - a fridge to put the vino in and very comfy beds !!
I can safely say that it is the first holiday that I have been on that I have felt so relaxed and not needed a week off work after, to get over it ! Infact it was that good that 2 days after we got back we booked again next year.

Cannot really comment on what goes on around Sidari because we didnt really leave Palmar ! The beach tho is gorgeous and is only a 4 minute walk away.

We met alot of really nice people there too and keep in contact.

Finally just to say thank you to all at Palmar and cannot wait to see you all again in June

Take care - love Scott and Pippa (yes that rude word in Greek !!!!) xx

Stayed for one week from 15 August 2011, me and my partner, her daughter and Mum.

Hotel/Room:

The hotel looks the business, the pool bar looks amazing; but you'll easily be able to see that from the photo's on here. The room was big enough and was also clean. I thought the bathroom could have been better in that the shower flooded quite a few of the nights we were there, but I imagine this is characteristic of Greece wherever you go. The facilities always seem to be basic.

The one thing I was amazed at was the price of the air con. It cost 12 Euro a night, this was really unexpected and shocking. Once you paid for the safe as well it came to 190 Euro's for the two weeks. That kind of price on top of what we paid is quite a lot. Once you get the air con mind, it works well as your room could double up as a fridge when its on.

Staff/Service

A little bit on info: its ran by two brothers, their families and their mother who used to live in Athens and opened the hotel as it was their late fathers dream to have a hotel. I think I've got that right but anyway they were very friendly and helpful. To be honest they know its their strenght and they play to it.

The maid went over our room everyday and kept the room nice and clean. Oh and by the way we got cake and orange juice on arrival which was lush.

Food:

The hotel also done nice food, you'll read other things about it being homecooked by the family's mother and I suppose it adds that extra special touch. There was a specials board that was updated daily. We never ate on the night but the full english brekky's on a morning were spot on.

Entertainment:

The place had all the football on, which was great for me. The brothers put anything on the TV that anyone requested really. One night there was a greek night with greek food and greek dancers. It cost about 15 Euro and the foot was nice. The dancing was boring, not my cup of tea. The only cool bit was when they set the floor on fire with lighter fuel.

Down the road your have the Sidari Strip, enough said for entertainment really.

Would we go again?

As nice as it was, probably not. As I said it was nice but when I read the reviews about couples getting married there and people going back for the 6/7 time I really wondered if I was missing something. In the end for me it came down to the price of the air con which I could not get over. It was the middle of August so it was needed and for the price charged it would probably come down on the side of greed rather than covering costs.

But if your going, have a lovely trip, be safe in the knowledge that you have booked a really nice hotel.

Room Tip: Room on the second floor would mean you could leave your patio doors open for an extra bit of breeze...

Returned last weekend from a weeks stay at the Palmar Apartments. Absolutely fantastic stay. The complex is a family run complex consisting of 14 apartments. All very large and spacious and cleaned everyday with linen and towels changed every second day. We had a 1 bedroomed apartment which would quite easily sleep 4 adults. 2 single beds in the bedroom and 2 sofa beds which pull down into doubles in the living room area. Well equipped for self catering big fridge and all cuttlery and plates included. Rooms have air con which is priced at 12 euros per day and we needed it at this time of year, it is featured in both the bedroom and in the living room area accross 2 units. Safety deposit boxes are in all rooms and are prices at 15 euros for the week. Supermarket is close by and has all much needed items and prices reasonably cheap aswell. Restaurants were all lovely and the choice of greek food was fantastic. Will defineately return to these apartments in the future. The only problem at this time of the year is that the midges are out in full force so remember to take your repelent wtih you. Greath holiday, thank you!!!

We booked the Corfu Palmar over a year ago as our main holiday for 2011 for 10 nights. The reviews were enough to encourage us and are in our favorite part of Sidari which is the Canal D'Amore area. We arrived early Saturday morning 3rd September and was shown to our room by the Thomas Cook Rep. There were tea and coffee making facilities and orange juice on the table so we could at least have a drink which was a nice touch. We were in a studio which was quite spacious for the two of us. There were twin beds which were pushed together. The kitchen area was big enough although there was a lack of utensils, my husband had to go and ask for 2 knives and there were no bowls for a cereal or for use in the microwave. The table on our balcony only had 3 legs and was wobbly so we had to wedge it up against the railings. We did mention this to Costas so he was aware so it could be replaced at some later date. The bathroom was very slippery when wet so you had to be very careful and we were a little dissapointed in the cleaner not sweeping the floors, as when you walked around without anything on your feet they ended up filthy!!. Maybe this is the reason they supplied you with a paper like pair of slippers for your feet on arrival. The shower curtain was mouldy around the bottom, and the hair dryer didn't work either. The good thing was the bins were emptied daily and the bed linen and towels were changed on a regular basis so overall it wasn't too bad. We had the aircon as it was far too hot without it and when we enquired about the cost we were told it was 10 euros a night, after saying we thought it was too expensive it was reduced to 8 euros a night. It might be worth asking for a discount if you are considering having it.. The pool at the Palmar is lovely and we never had to put a towel down to reserve a sunbed as there were always plenty. The bar area is a great place to enjoy a bite to eat and a relaxing drink. Costas and Spiros were great hosts and always made you welcome and never tried to rush you at the end of the night they knew you were on holiday and encouraged you to enjoy yourself. The Greek night was a real treat with some of the entertainment being supplied by the family themselves and we thoroughly enjoyed it and have made some new friends. The family make you very welcome and ensure you have a good holiday which we certainly did. We sampled Maria's cooking which was lovely and we ate out many times and never had a bad meal. The only thing I felt stopped me from giving this place a full 5 out of 5 was the small issues with the room, maybe a quick check now and again by the management would ensure things are always kept in full tip top condition.

Spent two weeks here with my family in August after reading the excellent reviews.
On arrival we were greeted by Spiros who was polite and friendly. He showed us to our room and it was nice to see that they had supplied us with some cake and a few bits and pieces to make drinks. We arrived in the middle of the night so we didn't look around, we went straight to bed.
The next morning we had a good look around the rooms. There really wasn't enough storage space for a family of four for two weeks. Drawers were very limited. There was a hair dryer but the kitchen area wasn't really set up for self catering. There was no oven, hardly any worktop and a toaster that was border line lethal! The cutlery and mugs have definitely seen better days and the shower curtain was very mouldy. The apartment did have a damp feel to it most of the time because we were on the ground floor so we couldn't leave doors/windows open to air it. The bathroom floor was always wet and slippery. We had twin beds pushed together in the bedroom and a sofa made into a bed and a camp bed which was absolutely awful. I really don't know how my daughter managed to sleep on it, she would have been better sleeping on a lilo! The cleaning lady was brilliant, emptied the bins daily, changed the towels every 2 days and sheets every 3.
Next we went to our welcome meeting while the kids enjoyed the pool. We were shocked to find the cost of air conditioning was 12 euros a day which worked out very costly for two weeks. The pool area is lovely. It very rarely got busy and was always clean. Same with the bar area. We did need to put towels out early to ensure we got sun loungers together. The Hotel is on a fairly busy road but didn't really bother us.
We ate there a couple of times and the food was nice. Maria works extremely hard and was always friendly.
The biggest mistake we made was turning down the Greek night. After that we were not treated the same by Evie. She hardly spoke to us and made us feel really uncomfortable whenever we saw her. It was no offence to the hotel that we turned it down, it just isn't our sort of thing.
There was, on some nights, quite a lot of noise late into the evening. Loud music, the owners children playing outside the apartment until early hours of the morning and some groups of drunken teenagers making noise. Didn't bother us too much but people with younger children or older couples may want to consider this.
Spiros and Costas were very nice and there children are all lovely and the two youngest girls kept us very entertained on our final night with there singing and dancing.
We did enjoy our time and wish there had been no Greek night then we might not have been outcasts. If we return to Sidari, it won't be to this hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid ground floor rooms!
