I booked this hotel last minute and was not disapointed with it. It was very clean with bottles of water in the fridge. The bathroom was large and clean and as we had a 1 bed appartment we had plenty of space. I would have loved to have one of the rooms on the first or second floor because of the fantasic views they had, but we couldn't complain about the large outside area & pool view we had. The maid came in every day & even washed up and folded up our clothes (we left her a good tip)!! In my opinion a perfect distance from the resort (5 min walk) which was a little dead when we were there, but is still lovely & has a beautiful harbour. We walked round the whole resort & also hired a jeep for a few days which really made our holiday. The fact that the bar closes early is totally fine, as we were staying next door to it and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings & watching the owls on an evening while we sat outside drinking wine & beer from the supermarket!! As for the hill up to the appartments, well I am only 30 & very active, but it lasts for about 2 minutes & will be no problem for you unless you have walking difficultlies. Our only complaint, is the hotel charging 25 euros to keep your room, but not been able to use it after 8pm, when we we not leaving till 2.30am! Instead of doing this we got a lovely room very near the hotel for 20 euros & managed to get 3 hours sleep before our transfer to the airport. Overral I lovely well run hotel with nice views.

We have stayed here for over 8 years now - on our own, with friends and with my parents. Everyone has loved it, and my parents are returning with their own friends this year! Clean and friendly, Pipitsa and Spiros and their team work hard to provide you with everything you need. The hill is a bit of a workout, but so worth it when you sit by the pool with a beer of a evening looking out over the village to the sea. Breakfast can be taken with the stunning views, and there is a very pleasant bar and shaded area by the stunning pool. Rooms are greek basic but comfortable. Aircon can be paid for. Mainly bookable through Olympic.

We stayed at the Lofos for our third time 21st May and had a great stay, although The Lofos(meaning hilly) is on a hill you have the best views over the whole village.
Breakfast, was excellant and snacks or lunch throughout the day made staying around the pool. with chilled beers on hand, heavenly.
The owners are really friendly as all the staff are and the Hotel and the rooms are kept in A1 condition at all times. We rebooked for September straight away
Iwould recommend this Hotel to anyone

Just got back from Lofos Hotel. The room we had was very good, long balcony with fabulous views over Kassiopi, the sea and Albania in the background. The people who own it are all friendly and helpful and this included the maid we had who was always smiling. We will certainly return again soon.We also went on an evening trip to Pantocrater Monastery 4000 ft above sea level and then watched the sunset from a taverna up there, highly recomended. We booked through Cosmic Travel run by Mike and Vera,a real pleasant couple. The only downside to this beautiful island as throughout Europe now is the cost of every thing.Over the past two years or so the prices have gone through the roof and far fewer people are going on holiday there.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Lofos. Booked with other family members so didn't know what to expect in advance. Wish I'd done a little more research. Have been to Kassiopi once previously and stayed in Stephanie II which is far better (if a little further from the main town).

The positives:
1) Kassiopi is a nice relaxed town and the locals are all very friendly. Better suited to couples or families rather than young singles.
2) Staff are all very friendly and maid did an excellent job.
3) Lovely views from the main pool area of the harbour and local town area.
4) Eating out isn't that expensive and is some really nice places to eat (really nice local greek restaurants and a fantastic Mexican - owner is lovely).
5) In September nice and quiet by the pool most of the time.

The negatives:
1) The big one - rooms have walls that feel like they are made of paper!!! We could hear people in next room stirring their cups of tea at night! Had to whisper to have a private conversation. For this reason would never return in a million years.
2) Corfu weather very unreliable in September.
3) If you don't smoke may get fed up with people smoking by the pool.
4) Lack of facilities at Lofos. Only small pool and cafe style area. Other than that no real facilities to speak of.

In summary unless you want to hear everything in the room next to you please book somewhere else.

Just had 2 wonderful weeks at The Lofos, Spiros and Pipitsa where just so friendly, they could'nt do enough for us and our 10 year old daughter, the apartment was spotlessly clean the service was spot on and Karena was great in the snack bar, we had a great time, would'nt hesitate to recommend The Lofos for your stay in Kassiopi, we will definately be coming back.

Pros- V clean room, Clean pool and nice views from the pool area

Cons- Noisy environment at times . Poor facilities.

This hotel is barely just OK in my book. The cons outweigh the positives.

What you aren't really prepared for it to be woken by one or more the neighbour's dogs ( and they have 4 of them) barking at the local traffic as it starts coming down the side laneway adjacent to the hotel starting anytime from 0630 am oh, and by the way, this included heavy trucks from construction work up the hill when we were there. The only day we had a lie in was Sunday when nothing moved till late morning.

Facilities- Clean room but hardly anywhere to put any shoping. You don't even get a toaster, a bottle opener is supplied but no can opener and you don't even get a sharp knife to cut a loaf of bread with.

There is also no tv on the premises at all for clients to use so I suggest you bring a portable DVD player and a packet of cards if you think you are lightly to get bored watching 4 walls. You can pay for air- conditioning and a safe deposit box is available. However, the latter is in the reception foyer and can only be accessed 8am-8pm. The foyer itself is lovely but you rarely see anyone there except on book in or out days if you are lucky. All business is done from the bar which closes by 8ish !

Unlike other Greek hotels I have stayed on other islands, you don't get a bottle of water left in your room even if like me, I didn't arrive in till the wee small hours of the morning so if you find your flight is delayed, make sure to bring it with you. You can buy 6 bottles of H2o from the Bar for about €2.60 to get you going , provided they are open of course as as we know, no late night bar runs here!
( you can get the same product for €1.50 at the small supermarket just past the Bike shop at the end of the short cut laneway into town, which comes out just above the bakery which sells lovely bread and rolls. The local laundrette is to your left just before Don's and down a small alleyway and I was very happy with their services . The local supermarket that everyone buys from is Sconto's in the Square of the town and it is closed on Sundays !!)

Car parking here is no problem, plenty of space at the hotel.

Pool is clean but a lot smaller than I had expected. If you don't get in early ( 0745ish) you may find that the lounger you want is already gone , Also there is no showering facilities beside the pool unlike many other Greek hotels. The loungers themselves were fine and additional comfortable foam layers were available to put on the bases .

The sunshades for me were a huge let down. They were wrought iron circles welded onto a central pylon and surrounded with an extremely old circlet of what I can only describe as 'thatch' . Anyway, because they couldn't either be moved any adjustment made to the shade itself, this meant that you were either fully in sunlight or dappled shade.

Kassiopi itself is a nice village but ever so touristy. I noticed in passing that, many of the local eateries even at lunch time were more than half empty both in the town which suprised me given it being peak season. Other tourist areas that I visited appeared to have similar issues and there appears to be a downturn in the tourist market on the island in general which is a shame.

The fortress overlooking the bay is well worth a walk up to explore and there are some great views from its walls . ( The path to it starts in the main road in the town walking towards the harbour. ) The harbour is really nice and great just sit awhile by and watch the boats going into and out of the harbour.

Getting around - don't depend on the local transport folks, hire a car locally if poss. Be warned folks, Corfu roads are not the best in places, be prepared for tarmac giving way to hardcore etc. and v narrow roads especially going through villages and you can't see what is coming around the corner in front of you!!

I enjoyed seeing the island but having spent two weeks exploring it as much as I wanted to , I don't plan on returning.
