“Another fantastic relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

This is our 3rd time at Lofos, first time in June/July, normally September. We had room 301 this time which was a large airy clean room. Towels changed twice weekly, sheets once weekly, the maid came in on all but one of the days and we were there for a fortnight. Beds are firm but we slept well. AirCon was 70 euros for the fortnight, safe in our room for, I think, 15. Papitsa is very helpful and friendly, and we always feel as if we are 'at home' with her, her husband and staff. Snacks at the Pool Bar are good quality, with the special omelette our favourite. Bottled water is always in the fridge on your arrival, great when its an unsociable time.
The pool is clean and as there are only 19 rooms it is never crowded. The pool terrace has stunning views. This is a place where you make your own entertainment, so if you want wall to wall partys then don't go. We always enjoy a meal in Kassiopi where there are fantastic restaurants (our favourite Sousoura), a cocktail or several by the harbour and on the way home (Visions bar and DejaVu very friendly), then sitting on the veranda playing dice/people watching/reading, enjoying the peace and lovely smells of Corfu.
During the day, you can laze by the pool, or walk to the pebble beaches which are excellent for snorkelling, very clean and crystal clear water. Lovely views of Albania. Take water with you as tavernas are not that near when on Kanoni beach. We also love boat trips with Costas on the Christina, booked via Cosmic ( Vera and Mike who run it are English and very helpful). It is also worth hiring a boat from Fillipos Boats at the Harbour Bar; a little one is 70 euros for the day (plus petrol on your return, around 25 euros this year) and you don't need to have experience as they show you. It gets you to lovely little coves where you're on your own! The first year we did it, my husband was moved to come home and get his speedboat licence to go faster the following year!
Yes, the hill is steep. But it pulls all the guests together as you always have a talking point, and is excellent exercise after a lovely meal.
Just want to mention Grant, the Olympic Rep. He has been there for the 3 years we have been going, and is excellent.Often there, and the Olympic team in general are fantastic. Last year my husband ended up in hospital (not from an accident I have to say) and the Olympic Rep was there before we'd even informed them. Can't praise their service enough - you don't want them in your faces but you want to know they're there if you need them.
So, we've been back a week from the most relaxing wonderful holiday, and we wish we were still there!

We have stayed at the Hotel Lofus before and it was so good then (3years ago) we booked again. We had the most amazing apartment and fantastic views. The owners and staff were brilliant. Lovely food, we often had breakfast and the Greek Dancing and barbeque night we thoroughly enjoyed (the roast potatoes were amazing). Rooms are very clean and have everything you need and balcony, the pool is also extremely nice. The centre is only 5 minutes walk down the hill, coming back the last bit of the hill to get to the top apartments is very steep but a great workout. Would definately recommend.

Was allowcated this apartment in May-June 2013, If this apartment is the best of what they can offer the rest can not be up to much either. paint peeling of the walls and ceiling, sockets come away from the wall, water flows from nearly all pipes,Light switch held on with tape. had to put packing under fridge to stop it from rattleing, cupboard where the plates and other items kept to high, sharp corners on the cooker hood which was head height, in general the rooms were dull, damp and smelly. At the pool bar not much of a choice.
Only plus was the pool area with views, And just one more thing was the upkeep of the pool it self left a lot to be desired only saw it cleaned in two weeks and a absence of pool temp' etc.
Will Not Be Going Back To Lofos again.

Room Tip: Do not go to Lofos apartment 306.

This was our first time in Greece and we can only say we had a lovely and safe holiday. The apartaments are just what you need, very clean and large and maybe the bathroom small but for us was fine. The location is stunning and the view are really great. The owners were very friendly with both of us, they make us feel like in our home. We hope to come back next year...just can't wait.

Thank You

Geroge

Having been in Greece many times, we only found these apartments at best, average. The views from our room and the poolside (incl the bar) are by far the Lofos best plus point. However, the rooms and facilities are run of the mill 3 star Greek apartments. The beds are hard, the towels grey and well past their sell-by date and the furniture extremely tired. We rarely ever cook in self-catering apartments and I suspect that it would be difficult in the lofos given the cooking facilities - one pan which must have been large enough to make soup in for half the complex was all that was available in our room. Noise travels in these apartments very easily - so beware!

We found that whilst Pepista was friendly and helpful, her husband was dour and uninterested. And despite what others say, we did find the hill to the top end of the complex quite daunting. It is not for the faint hearted. Beside the views, other small plus points were the apartments were full but there was always plenty of available sun beds. It appears that most of their customers go away during the day. And pool side snacks were reasonable. There are many loyal customers of the apartments (our neighbour told us that this was their 25th visit!) although for the life of me I could not see what the attraction was. You get what you pay for and that just about sums up the Lofos for us.

Room Tip: Go to another complex!

these are lovely aptartments, basic but clean, the owners are very friendly and helpfull, we had wonderful views from our room 402, sea and pool view. the room was very large, very basic kitchen only really for making snacks. small bathroom, towels changed twice a week( would of liked this done abit more often) linen once a week. its very peaceful sat round the pool, not really aplace for children, more for adults. its only a 5min walk down hill into kassiopi, so very good location, there is a very steep hill going up to the appartments!!! you need to be good health to cope with this in the heat. resataurants i would reccomend are petrinos on the harbour, and dons bar, never ate anywhere else after a dissapointing first week trying other restaurants out. mac macs is an excellant bar, cheapest and best bar in kassiopi.

Room Tip: 402 twin room, good views, and larger than some of the other rooms. sunny in the mornings

Just back from a week in this stunning location and can't wait to go back! 2 days in and we were so relaxed we couldn't remember how long we had been there!

Twin room with sea views, basic cooking facilities but as we never stayed in that didn't matter, very clean and spacious so no complaints. Rooms cleaned 6 times, towels and bedding changed once in the week we stayed. Air con was gratefully booked for 35 euros and a safe was 7. Pool area with beautiful views as elevated, snack bar serving from morning till about 7pm so no drinks after dinner but this didn't bother us - I made sangria in a saucepan! All staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble they even said a proper goodbye when we left. Actually all guests were really friendly as well and we made some lovely friends during the week. Nothing for kids other than small childrens pool and free wi fi so you may find more suited to couples, friends or families with older children.
Now for the hill which many others have commented on. It is steep but short, proper effort involved when you arrive dragging your suitcase behind you but is so worth it for the views over Kassiopi and the harbour. If you have walking difficulties this may not be for you but if you like a challenge (my friend tried to run up it on the last day) and maybe burning a few calories after dinner then it is not a problem at all.
Tip - Lofos will sell you 6 bottles of water for 2 euros so you don't have to give yourself a hernia carrying them to your room.
Many tavernas and bars in the town, few 'English' type but not those with flashing neon and beer drinking competions. We never had a bad meal so you can eat out somewhere different every night. The harbour is stunning - would advise a cocktail early evening before it gets dark, so pretty. I don't think the area would suit those looking for an 18-30 type holiday but there is plenty to do in the evening once you have eaten, plenty of places to have a drink or do a quiz and the shops stay open very late.
Beaches are about 15 minutes from Lofos if you take the short cut (turn right and then left, keep following the winding road even if it looks like you will arrive in a back garden and you will soon find yourself in the town) and are pebbly so get a pair of good beach shoes (about 7 euros in the shops) but you can hire sunbeds (2.50) and parasols (2) for the day so you are comfortable and no sand getting in the way. The fish are also very friendly!
We couldn't actually find fault at all with this holiday (and we can be quite fussy). If you are happy with basic but clean accomodation, a good pool with a magnificent view, plenty of choice for dinner and after dinner drinks and a little exercise at the end of the night (not that sort of exercise tut tut) then this is most definately the place for you!

Room Tip: If booking a double room you may want to request not having the room next to the snack bar - not bas...
