Arrived 3 1/2 hours later than expected due to delay at airport. Whole place in darkness - only a phone number to call. Manager was very abrupt and quite rude. Disappointed that the main pool and restaurant were closed. All food was served in the snack bar. Two choices for menu - eat it or do without! Stopped going for breakfast and dinner on 3rd day. Cleaners are not well named. no cleaning completed for 2 weeks. Sheets supposed to be changed weekly. towels were changed twice weekly. There is no sweeping brush in the apartments and the maids don't appear to have one either. The supermarket is well stocked and the staff in there are very pleasant. Kassiopi is a peaceful and pleasant place to visit. The harbour is really pretty. The tavernas and restaurants are well stocked and offer a great choice of food and drink. Nicos' Bakery supplies the most woderful pastries!

we were a bit worried after reading reveiws about this place , we arrived in the early hours of the morning ,no one on reception just phone numbers on door to ring! we rang the number and the manageress came she was quite blunt and didnt make us feel very welcomed ,other people we spoke to had the same welcome if it was night time! we had a two bedroomed apartment which was ok bit run down ,kitchen quite small ,bedrooms plenty of storage space , sheets changed once a week, towels every three days , actual room cleaning none! the maids came to empty toilet bin and kitchen bin and that was it !! everybody was right about the food ,we ate in the big resturant the first week and the food was always cold! the second week it was shut down and the swimming pool along side it .we had the food in the snack bar the second week but no choice ,you had to have what they gave you ,couple of nights we couldnt eat it ,lots of people complained but it didnt make much difference its a shame because the complex is lovely , we met some lovely people there and had a lovely holiday ,kassiopi is lovely bout ten to fifteen mins walk to harbour ,just glad we were prepared what to expect as it would of been a bit of a shock ,if you are going ,dont do half board there are lovely tavernas down by the harbour , we had a bike for eight days and toured around its a lovely island ,and up in the mountains its so lovely and relaxing !!

We booked the Michelangelo as a quick late summer getaway, however once we read the reviews, I have to say I was slightly concerned, however I went with an open mind.
The apartments are on the outskirts of Kassiopi, located along a side road and the complex is split by the road. Everyone mentions half the complex is Thomson and half Olympic - well I have no idea! We booked through Hotels4U!
Let me try and sum up the complex. There is 2 sides, one side is where the reception building is with one of the pools next to. The reception when we were there was open from 8:30 - 8:30 at night. They changed money, had 2 computers which could be used, telephone and a library facility. The same side has a tennis court, some of the apartments, a kids playground, table tennis table, the restaurant, the largest swimming pool and pool bar. The other side had the bar, games room, supermarket, 2 small swimming pools and more apartments.
We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and were allocated on the side with the bar, our apartment was 207 and we overlooked one of the smaller pools. The apartment was basic and clean. We had an openplan kitchen with a small dining table, the 2 bedrooms were both twin bedded and had doors onto a dual balcony. There was plenty of storage with both bedrooms having built in cupboards and a large wardrobe in the kitchen.
Air Con was in both bedrooms and cost us €70 for the week - €10 per day.
The kitchen was very basic - fridge, sink and 2 rings, we also had a kettle and toaster, however there was no microwave or actual work surface so preparing food was difficult.
We booked half board and as this was a 2* property e werent expecting miracles!
Breakfast and dinner were served in the restaurant across the road, breakfast from 8:30 - 10am and dinner from 6:30-8pm. Both were buffet and very basic.
Breakfast consisted of fresh bread - which we found very fresh not stale, jams, eggs - fried and omlette, beans, cereals, juice, tea and coffee. somedays there was mushrooms, others mini frankfurter sausages. It was basic but edible.
Dinner, again buffet, very basic there was often a pasta dish, some sort of meat or fish and rice or chips, there was salad bits and one choice of pudding. Water was included as well. To be honest we ate in 3 nights and ate out 4.
The thing that really disappointed us was that we arrived on 29th August but yet the place was deserted, despite the adverts in reception there was no entertainment in the complex and some nights the bar shut at 9pm! However we went into the town to eat and also for entertainment.
The town is a 10 minute walk downhill, 15-20 to the harbour area. Kassiopi is quiet, low key but lovely, plenty of restaurants to choose from and bars. We visited Illusions bar which is near the harbour, they did quizs in the evening and the drinks were reasonable.
We paid £200 for a week half board in a 2 bedroom apartment and we were not disappointed. People need to remember this is 2 star accommodation in Greece and the accommodation in Greece tends to be more basic than the rest of europe.
No real complaints on our part, we got what we paid for!

The hotel was fantastic, and the pools were just as good! The food was great, nfortunately we hit one night within a week where the food wast so great. It is a short walk from the main part of Kassiopi and has a great bar within the hotel. Would highly recomend staying here and would greatly recomend ignoring any negative reviews as they all seem to be written by stuck up people who expect the world at their feet for what is essentially a for the price given an extremely clean, well run and pleaseant acoomadion.
