“Mediocre, not worth the expense”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Starter of mushrooms with lobster and champagne (for me) and mushroom with cheese (for other half) was beautiful. Main course of fish platter (mine) was overcooked with a heavy smoked taste that overpowered the swordfish, on an upnote the mussels were lovely, the only upnote to this whole dish though. Other halfs steak was flavourless and very chewy. Veg that came with both dishes was bland and needed some herbs or seasoning of some sort. Service was good. Overall 2 courses each and a bottle of wine came to €72 without a tip. Not worth it in my opinion.

Dear Reviewer,
I am very sorry to read that you were not entirely happy with your meal at Petrinos. Being so close to the sea as we are, our fresh seafood platter is a popular choice for seafood lovers, alongside our fresh catch-of-the-day options. Both of which are cooked very simply on the open grill allowing the full delicious freshness and taste to come through. Perhaps this form of cooking is not to your particular taste as we have never received complaint of smokiness before. Unfortunate you found that to be the case. I believe it is fair to comment that the expense of your meal did include a good quality bottle of wine - prices of which are similar in every restaurant. The dishes chosen were also our more high-end options. We have one of, if not the largest menu to chose from so there are plenty of choices to suit all budgets. We thank you for your review and I'm sure you'll be happy to learn that we have now changed our accompanying vegetable option - now serving beautiful roasted rainbow-coloured summer vegetables which are packed with flavour. Wishing you pleasant future holidays.
Regards,
The Petrino Team

“Food was fine, but service frustratingly slow”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Having read such great reviews on TA, we went to Petrinos for lunch a fortnight ago. The setting was pleasant, just across the road from the harbour. There were only a few people eating when we arrived, but it did fill up quickly. Unfortunately, there only seemed to be one member of staff waiting on the tables, and although she was friendly and smiled a lot, the service was very slow. We'd almost finished our drinks by the time the food came, and I'd almost finished my food by the time a second glass of wine was brought over, despite two gentle reminders.

My partner said his burger was OK, and I was pleased with the lunchtime special, a Greek meze taster plate. Although we thought the prices were reasonable, we didn't return.

We thank you for your review and appreciate the comments you have made. I sincerely apologise that our service was not up to the usual very efficient standard and you therefore couldn't enjoy your dining experience as well as could be. I recall -as it happens so seldom- that we were understaffed that afternoon although, with full appreciation, this is no excuse. We hope you may consider dining with us again on future visits to Kassiopi and wish you well.
Kind Regards,
The Petrino Team

“Friendly service and good food”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

A good location by the harbour. We must have tested their patience with our party of seven, with three young children, but were made welcome, and we were delighted with the quality of the food we were served. Altogether a first rate experience.
