The location, a 10 minute walk from the harbour is superb. The buiding themselves, the garden and the pool are lovely. Mostly our apartment was pleasing, cool, immaculate tiled floors and french windows opening on to a balcony. But there were irritations. The apartment was cleaned every day to a high standard except the oven front and knobs which were covered in months of grease and grime as was the cooker hood - didn't bother us aas we did not use it but it was odd. The bathroom was the worst bit. It was clean but there was a drain in the middle of the floor - fine as i suppose it was to take the overflow from the rather cramped shower but in fact whenever one used the shower or sink water and suds came up thriough the drain. The beds had attractive counterpanes to match the curtains but when you turned them back they (all 4) were covered in stains - some blood and what could have been tea or coffee stains...this was the start of the holiday season and the stains looked old so presumably the covers were not cleaned - didn't like them touching my pillow. The worst was when we arrived - they do reallyneed a calm person to meet guests. The lady spoke no English and seemed to panic at three couples arriving at once. She waved papers at each of us to identify our names then took us to an apartment-we tried to point out that it was not the size we had paid for and that it was not the number next to our name - she just kept shouting fairly hysterically in Greek so we phoned the Thomas cook agent who rang her still to no avail. in the end shee took us to a bar over the road where the owner spoke English. Luckily there was a Thomas Cook rep there and all was sorted out but it was an upsetting start. It must be really difficult if a guest has p;roblems to resolve. Potentially these apartments could be perfection.
