We arrived at Marika at 3pm, there was no name on any door or key left out.Another holiday maker ataying there kindly showed us where the travel corner was. When we entered we were greeted by Costa's (the owner), he said we could not stay at the Marika until the next day due to damage in the room that had been caused by previous holiday makers. He said there was no way of getting in touch even though he ad had two days in which to do so. He said he would move us to the Balegio and his wife would take us there. She arrived five minutes later, she was very abrupt and by this point we were not very pleased. She replied " well do you want the room or not?".

She took us around the corner about 500 meters. The Balegio hotel was not as expected, not acceptable, no sea view, pool around the corner and not up to scratch for what we had paid. We explained to Coatas that we were not very happy as not only had this disrupted our first day of our 7 day holiday, caused us to argue, we could not unpack or relax as we had to move the next day. We asked if we would have some sort of refund. He replied very aggressivley " well do you want somewhere to stop or not? I have given you free air con and a bed for the night". We replied that we were going to make a complaint. He asked us that if we were going to complain now that he would not give us the aircon and we could go back to the airport. He aslo said " you should consider yourselves lucky, i had a family that i had to move from a 5star to a 2 ".

It made us feel like we wanted to go home, he was not accomodating and agressive. When we arrived at the Marika the next day he made the cleaning lady come in and take away the air con remote so that we could not use it. We did not have our bins emptied, room cleaned, towels changed or beds changed for the entirity of our stay. Kassioppi is a lovely resort just do not stay here. I expect high standards of accomodation in Greece as from previous experiences but i do expect some customer care. DO NOT BOOK!

This is our fourth visit to Kassiopi and have stayed in various apartments, this one however albeit vary basic, was in a perfect location! We stayed in appt number 1, ground floor facing the front, it has a bedroom with twin beds, small wardrobe dressing table & bedside cupboards. Air conditioning at 5 euro a day, a small kitchenette with cooker& fridge freezer & a table & chairs. The bathroom was efficient, with newish looking sink & Loo, the shower was basic but also efficient. Behind the appt block it has a small pool, great for cooling off, plenty of sun loungers and to top it off, a view of the bay! We found that it was very quiet, the beds were a bit hard but didn't stop us sleeping, it is perfectly located for a walk around the bay to the harbor, all shops & restaurants were within easy reach! Some people might find Marika Apps to basic, but when your on holiday how often do you stay in? We liked it so much, we are booking again for next year! :-)

We have just arrived back from a week at the above studios.
I'll start with the pros: Fabulous position ( out of grounds onto beach ) and practically in the centre of the village. Lovely terrace with a handy shelter from the sun. Pool of adequate size. Spotlessly clean.Kettle !....Full size oven and fridge freezer.Good value if you know what to expect.
They seem to be advertised as 3* but I can't understand how that has come about. 2* at tops.
The size is just ok but the kitchen cupboards are in need of replacement,no toaster or grill on the oven, no microwave, no hairdryer, no reading lamps (lighting a little dismal ). The shower curtain is too short therefore the bathroom really becomes a wet room, which is ok as long as you are the first one in !! and there isn't much hot water after around 6.30 in the evening..We are told that air con is payable by token but I can't verify that as we didn't need it.The general feeling we have is that they are a little unloved and lack atmosphere. Just one or two pots around the pool and a bit of greenery would make such a difference,
If a quiet location, central and not pricey is what you are after then you will probably be satisfied with the Marika.

I realize that you get what you pay for but this was ridiculous. Could go on forever about the place but take my word for it, apart from the location being great the place needs bulldozing asap

Lots of room for improvement and I got the feeling that the owners had very little respect for holiday makers.

Room Tip: Im not a fussy person and actually prefer just basic accommodation but I was terribly disappointed a...

Booked a week at the Marika through Easy jet, definitely not 3 stars!! These rooms are down an unlit side street, they have no name on the outside,
There is no reception or bar and no rep with Easy jet so be warned if anything is missing there is no one to ask. All enquires are made at the travel corner in the main square.
On arrival your name is blue tacked to the door and the key is left in it, the room was prepared for 2 and there were 4 of us so 2 pillows, 2 towels etc.
Towels were changed once in the week, sheets not at all. Cleaner came in twice to empty the bins. Bathroom light didn’t work and despite asking twice (at the travel corner) for the bulb to be changed nothing happened. Location is good and there are plenty of restaurants and bars, Beach is shingle and very small. We had 3 days of solid rain and the Marika is NOT somewhere you wnt to be trapped for that long! Guess it depends what you expect for 3 stars, Kassioppi has plenty to offer just don't stay at the Marika.

Room Tip: Definately not room 2 VERY dark

Spent a week here in June 2012 travelling as a group of three ladies sharing a two bedroomed apartment with sea view on the first floor. The apartments were well maintained, kept clean and tidy and the air conditioning was effective. The weather was very warm whilst we were there, +30 easily, yet we were comfortable even in the bedrooms. No problems with the hot water for showers and the fridge and cooker were modern.
The main plus point is the location, tucked away down a quiet road with the pool and terrace looking over the little beach. Plenty of sun beds and a handy covered area providing welcome shade in the hottest part of the day. Was only spoiled by some inconsiderate residents who arrived midweek and insisted on playing their music by the pool, who wants to listen to "White christmas" in June!? Otherwise was really relaxing, we used the table on the patio to have breakfast somedays when no one else was around. A little gate leads to the beach which is pebbly so take suitable footwear if you fancy a swim.
Imerolia is a short (10 to 15) minute walk away along the beach and up a gentle hill. The imerolia taverna is in a lovely location and we walked there a couple of times in the day for drinks and had lunch there which was very good, would recommend.
The Janis taverna is a couple of minutes away along the beach great service, very friendly, very good food and a fantastic view of the sunset. Prices very reasonable as well given the quality of food and service. Our favourite I think.
Kassiopi village and harbour is a short walk away (5 to 10 mins) and is a mixture of traditional and more modern bars and restaurants. Some bits chavvy but i guess thats a sign of the times, didn't spoil it though. We ate at the more traditional places. Try the meat meze at Castello, food great and owner very hospitable. Sousouros just off the main street down to the harbour was also excellent. Would also recommend Petrinos by the harbour and the 3 brothers also by the harbour. Cocktail hour we spent at deja vu, good variety of cocktails reasonably priced and very friendly waiter.
We didn't do much more than sunbathe, eat and drink others than we did take the day excursion to Corfu town by boat which is worth seeing.
All in all there was enough to keep us happy for the week, perfect weather, good accommodation, some nice restaurants and friendly people. Would definitely consider returning in the future but as this was my first trip to Greece would like to try some other islands first.

Room Tip: Worth paying a little extra for a sea view room but bear in mind there are steps up to first floor s...
