“Perfect Home Base”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

My daughter and I stayed at the Conch Inn in Marsh Harbour over the Easter Break for 7 nights. We found this charming, clean, conveniently located little Inn perfect for our stay. The well maintained property and grounds and hotel rooms exceeded our expectations and we can't imagine staying at any other hotel in Marsh Harbour. The rooms were both spacious and attractively furnished as well as super clean and fresh looking. Loved that we were greeted with fresh flowers placed in our room daily. The beds were comfortable, nice big cable TV, the room fridge and AC worked great. Situated right smack in the center of the down town area you are able to walk to just about everywhere and the food at Curly Tails (the restaurant on site) is top notch. The Front Desk Staff, Housekeeping staff and Manager all were friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for?! It is a perfect home base for anyone who wants an affordable option in Abaco .. yes they have limited Front Desk hours but as long as you are an independent, active person who doesn't need to be pampered and babysat at every moment I can't see where that is a problem. The Conch Inn gets 4 thumbs up from my daughter and I and we would defiantly not hesitate to stay there again on any future trips to Marsh Harbour.

Love the Conch Inn. Come almost every summer. We don't stay at the hotel but dock the boat here. Great location. Great diving. Close to everything. The shuttle boat is walking distance to all the other islands. So FUN! Everyone is so nice here.
Every place in the Bahama's is expense so it's all relative.

The rooms were good enough, if not the nicest ever, and the location couldn't be beat. Right next to several good restaurants, right on the harbor, and right next to a dive shop. The pool looked good (we didn't use it, as we were headed out to the ocean), and the people at the desk were helpful. Taxis congregate nearby and a car rental place is just a little bit down the road.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights (not consecutive) in December 2013. We were on our way to Guana cay and due to our flight time into Marsh Harbour and ferry times, we needed accommodation for a Friday night x2. Location was perfect to catch the ferry. Conch Inn is clean, comfortable and the restaurant/bar is awesome! The price is unbelievable at $140 US! Definitely recommend and will absolutely stay on our n3xt trip to the Abacos!

We have a home in Grand Bahama, but decided to take a trip to Abaco recently, someplace we'd never been before. This was a brief "survey" trip, and our goal was to learn how to make the relatively inaccessible Abaco more accessible. I say "inaccessible" because so much of what makes this island interesting is its many small off-shore mini-islands or cays. These turn out to be quite accessible by ferries from either Treasure Cay or Marsh Harbour, but you need to know what they offer, and how to get there by the local ferries.

While in Marsh Harbour, we stayed in the Conch Inn. This place is a little ecclectic - a combination motel, dive shop and marina. Very pleasantly laid out, overall. The big surprise was that the room was absolutely wonderful, and for only $120 per night (plus tax). I mean, the beds were great, furnishings were excellent, setting was private and peaceful. Only negative...their restaurant was not open. On the other hand, we got to eat at Snappa's, just a 5 minute walk down the street in one direction, as well as the Great Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour Marina, about a 7 minute walk in the other direction. Both places were very, very good. Excellent food, and plenty of it, in enjoyable but different settings. Snappa's is a casual restaurant and bar overlooking a marina, while the Resort is much more formal, cloth napkins, etc.

We'd stay at the Conch Inn again, any time.

By the way, the guy that runs the dive shop is friendly and helpful, even if you're not a diving customer. His name is Keith.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are in a ways from the road, and all are quiet. There is a pool nearby, too.

The hotel is basically co-located with the Mooring's/Sunsail base in Marsh Harbour. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. We did not see any bugs. The bed is comfortable. There are two doors to the room - one looking out at the perimeter of the property and the other leading to a small patio in the back. The condition of the door latches and locks especially to the patio is very poor and is a potential security concern. The area outside of the front door is very busy with people going back and forth to the marina and the dive shop. People are very friendly and the staff was courteous. I would stay there again, but having stayed at both Conch Inn and Lofty Fig, prefer the Lofty Fig as it is quieter, a bit cleaner, and the pool area is nicer.

We stayed for one night while doing some business in Marsh Harbour. The room was simple and seemed overpriced for what we got. Curly Tails, an open air restaurant, was next door and is a lovely place to spend the dinner hours. The staff was pleasant to talk to.

A number of nice cafes can be walked to further down Bay Street. The excellent supermarket, Maxwell, is on the Airport Rd.

Only complaint was that the hotel wanted to charge extra to access the internet. That seemed very cheap on their part.
