Everything about this place is delightful, charming and comfortable. There is a casual elegance to the setting, the food, and the service which makes me look forward to my next experience at The Mill Cafe. Thanks for a great experience!

“Delicious cozy lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

We drove to Thornbury for a little shopping and The Mill was recommended by a local who mentioned they were under new management and that all they had heard so far was positive. Upon arriving we were warmly greeted and given a great table. The menu looked excellent. The kale ceasar was a pleasant surprise, maple bacon and fresh cheese really set off the dressing. I thoroughly enjoyed my mussels cooked in cider and leek and my parents loved their pulled beef entre topped with fried crunchy onion rings. The cold local beer on tap accompanied it all very nicely. We will return very soon!!

“Fabulous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were in the Collingwood area this weekend visiting old friends and went for dinner at The Mill.
The restaurant is charming, the service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. We will most certainly return and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine meal in a great atmosphere.

“Something "old" is "new again in Thornbury, Ontario!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

My husband and I recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner together with equally excellent wine at The Mill Cafe in Thornbuy. The Mill has recently changed owners and management. We recommend it highly and will be frequenting often ourselves. They allow wine to be brought by the patron at a very fair corkage of $10/ Wed. only ONE dollar!!!! Amazing value, excellent food and service! We anticipate a "Wine" event soon conducted by my husband "Winetasters of Collingwood".

“Great if you are the Great Fatsby”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2012

Sorry folks - I am usually a very fair reviewer but this place is way too expensive for the quality of food, service and ambiance. It's not the roaring 20s anymore and nobody has money to burn like the prices at this establishment suggest.
Was there as an out-of-towner the other day with my family and lets just say $12 for a tiny little plate of three measly spring rolls served on five or six pieces of spring roll mix and with some canned VH dipping sauce is way too much. Plus the 40 minute wait on a not to busy lunch hour for this over priced food was a little too much to take.
Everything in this place appears to be double the cost of what it should be and I am judging this by Toronto prices which are way too high to begin with - Don't forget to try the $18 hamburger or the $16 Lobster Quasedilla which is a tortilla with a few chunks of lobster and some cheese all for way too much money. Where else can a family of four spend $100 for some microwaved basic pub fare (WHERE THEY SHOULD BE SPENDING $60 TOPS???)...You would do much better at a greasy spoon or pub with more reasonable prices. Last time I checked Thornbury wasn't West Palm Beach or Palm Springs - it is a small beach town off the beaten path. At some point a competitor will open and make a tidy profit by providing better service, food at more affordable prices...Overall this pub is in a good location next to a giant damn/waterfall - which is a pretty good place to be sitting if you like being soaked....See you later old sports.....
