Spent the week here on an RCI "cheap inventory" points deal. The resort was rated as bronze and we looked at pics and read reviews before booking. We had a 2 Br, 2 Bathroom unit on the 2nd floor. The unit was clean, well equipped and spacious. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The indoor saltwater pool and hot tub area were lovely and were the reason we booked....and we were not disappointed! All units have marina views and must be breathtaking during summer. We enjoyed the movie night in the lobby. I would not really call this a resort though....no onsite restaurant, not much property, no spa or other amenities you would expect at a "resort". It was more like a lovely, family run upscale motel....but what they do, they do well. We have plans to return in the fall if possible when we can explore the town on foot a bit more.

We had an efficiency unit on the first floor which worked out for our purpose. Walk out the sliding door to front of unit right to the marina, which was perfect. The unit was a bit dated, but a fully equipped kitchen was very handy and we even had guests sleeping on the pull out couch and they were fine. The price was good and not outrageous for 2 nights and the pool was nice but it closes on Sunday for while for maintenance. I would definitely stay there again without question and I am pretty picky.

Room Tip: Bonus: if you have an efficiency, you can park right outside your unit.

We were given a condo unit with two bedrooms. There was new furnature and new carpet. The room was at balcony level, overlooking the marina, just beautiful. The condo was very clean and had about the best equipt kitchen of any condo or cottage I have ever been in. We had all our meals on the balcony with the million dollar veiw.
The building does look like it was built in the eighties but as long as it is clean, who cares. We had so much space I thought it was a bargain.
The staff were great, they had a movie night in the lobby and they brought us popcorn, nice touch. The town of Thornbury is lovely with great shops, great bakery and cheese shop. We are planning to go back next year.

this place is very expensive and the upkeep is very poor..they need to close down for 6 months or more and upgrade the units to todays standards..it was built in the 80"s and needs a lot of work done.great location and the staff are wonderful..very quiet and relaxing on the outside, wish it were the same on the inside..no wi-fi in the units, you have to go downstairs to get on line...the whole interior needs a lot of work...

Room Tip: all rooms face the bay waters, suggest travellers should check it out before booking, not has it appears on the internet..great view of the yatch club and the boats...

I thought this place would be kind of crappy, but it completely surpassed my expectations. The building as a whole is outdated, sure, but the 2 bedroom suite was clean and big and came with everything we needed to make it a home away from home. The staff were all friendly, and the pool was nice and refreshing. The location is right on the water, so we had a lovely view of the harbour. It is close to a lot of great restaurants and many of them give you discounts if you say you're staying at the Royal Harbour. it's also super close to Collingwood and other far busier towns, so you can experience all they have to offer then come back to the quiet resort.

Downsides: they say they have Internet, but that's only in the lobby, so don't count on it. Also, one bedroom has a Queen bed, and the other has two twin beds, so as we were traveling as two couples, that wasn't exactly ideal. Obviously, that would be a bonus for families, but it would have been nice to know beforehand. Still, we weren't there to sleep, we were there to have fun, and that we did.
