“Cars galore!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

This museum is terrific - even if you are not a devoted car enthusiast. I took an elderly American friend who declared that he found a model of every car he had owned since the war. He also claimed that he had never seen a collection as great in the States. A highlight for the children with me was the US gangster car with incredibly thick bullet proof class and bullet holes in the body work. The cars are well presented and necessary details provided re age and so on. The price of admission is reasonable. The museum is out of Wellington city. I understand that buses to the museum are available for cruise boat passengers, so, if you get the opportunity, take it!

“Car Crazy”

This Museum is certainly worth a visit. Perhaps it is not up to that of some overseas car museums but certainly has a great collection and variety. The cars are all well restored and presented and a tribute to the late Len Southward

“World Class Car Museum in Nw Zealand”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

Actually it is at Otaihanga, about 60 km North of Wellington, but well worth the drive.
This may well be the best car museum you'll ever see - a purpose designed building flooded with natural light - beautiful setting and grounds.

A huge selection of cars and a good selection of trucks, motor bikes, bicycles and automotive memorabilia - the cars are immaculately presented - and each has it's own description card.
Oldest car is a Benz from the 1890s, there are vintage cars, post vintage vehicles, special cars, small cars, huge cars, racing cars - so much to see.

Allow at least a couple of hours to see this wonderful museum - there's also a souvenir shop and cafe. Highly recommended

The scope of the collection is Amazing, including a Chicago Gangster limo, complete with plate glass and bullet holes. Very well laid out and maintained. Only stopped by for a coffee!
