after reading previous review , i would have to say that all people on duty on Sunday did acknowledge people with a hello when they came into the premise
So shows that Managament have read the previous review , as the Hellos were from all staff on duty
Althought the lady on the counter did say hello , but her manner was rather brusqe and she was not at all accomodating with a request , possibly a candidate for Kiwi Host training
Standard of the food to be honest was not good , the Full breakfast provided was eggs overcooked and all in all not very appealing, bacon overcooked on a dirty hot plate , appeared to be a very amateur attempt at a breakfast , wouldnt reccommend
Eggs Benedict were just about raw on the top , very close to being sent back to further cooking
Coffees , a long black was served in a wrong cup , a tulip cup is for Long Blacks not a cappuccino cup alters that taste of the coffee because of the volume of water
The setting is very nice and i am sure on a nice day would be great sitting outside in the outdoor areas
I would call again but probably just purchase from the cabinet as the selection in it looked great and very appealing

Was gloomy and dark inside and the person behind the counter of the otherwise empty cafe couldn't even be bothered lifting up her head to offer a welcoming smile. So we walked out again and wouldn't bother returning. Felt very let down as from the outside it looked promising.

On an extremely busy and brilliantly sunny Sunday afternoon when the car park opposite was packed to overflowing, this place had closed it doors at 2 p.m! Many folk were seen crossing the road for no avail. The food is generally nice, but the service can be slow and unfriendly. Just seems to depend what staff are rostered on and where the owner is. Do not bring a dog here and expect it to be allowed to stay outside with you. This place is quite variable in its delivery of service. There are other food businesses in the are popping up more now, due to the rail trail popularity, so check out the Waikino Cafe, The Bistro at Owharoa Falls and the Ohinemouri Wine cafe.

This place is a gem – a gorgeous old house in a funky garden setting, all the tables had real garden flowers on them, and the meals came decorated with them too.

The coffee was great and while we sat in the sun and awaited our meals, we studied the maps and information about the trail that they had displayed. The food was well priced, with great presentation and tasted great – I had mussel fritters and salad.

I have been before and I would definately come here again. Though I might also be tempted to try the Waikino cafe at the other end of the Gorge ride, just to see what it is like.
