The grounds, monuments and memorials here are absolutely beautiful and perfectly maintained. It is really amazing to stand on the bluffs and see the open shoreline and Pointe du Hoc where so many men died. Applicable to any age; kids, teens and adults.

I traveled here with my 22 year old niece. We both said it was a most humbling yet wonderful experience. If cemetaries can be called beautiful it was just that. To know that I was standing on a piece of American soil overlooking a beautiful and inspiring site surrounded by heros was most uplifting. I will not forget that day.

A final resting place for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom during WWII. A very serene and peaceful atmosphere overlooking Omaha Beach. The grounds are meticulously groomed and manicured. The headstones are perfectly aligned. A beautiful and somber tribute.

To all that have served both in the past and present, Thank you.

We traveled to Normandy from Le Havre for a day trip. The cemetary was an heart touching sight to see. Seeing the open, vast beaches gave you the vision that only being there could give you. The history and the lives lost were brought to consciousness while walking the memorial.

My husband and I were on a WWII memorial tour of France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, and the Normandy American Cemetery was one of the first stops we made. We were humbled and uplifted at the same time. Humbled because of the sacrifice that so many Americans made in order to secure our freedom, and uplifted by the beauty of this place. The English Channel provides the backdrop for the cemetery and memorial. The grounds are kept in pristine condition, and the statue "American Youth Rising from the Sea" is a beautiful memorial to our fallen servicemen. Over 9,000 grave markers stand as a testament to their patriotism and dedication to the cause of freedom. Our visit to the cemetery was a very moving experience for us and the rest of our tour group.
