Chateau is a lovely, cozy place on amazing property by the river. Comfortable rooms, lovely property and friendly personnel make the whole experience wonderful.
It takes a mere of 15 minutes by car to get to very center of Bordeaux!
Returning from the city you end up in fantastic mansion away from crowds or city noise..

We stopped here on the way to Dordogne. Really friendly and helpful staff, our room overlooked the river with a pretty balcony perfect for a pre-dinner drinks. The swimming pool has a lovely secluded feeling. Definitely a place worth visiting again to sample the delights of Bordeaux.

To me this is principally a wedding venue you can stay at when there isn't a wedding on. It's a bit self service in that respect. Doesn't have a proper restaurant for dinner or a bar. They can provide a limited room service menu and wine but not in a restaurant setting. So, if you aren't looking for a traditional hotel experience and can fend for yourself (going out for dinner or getting take away) then this is a good venue in an amazing location on the river and a short drive to the airport. We enjoyed our stay. The chateau is nice (though modern inside rather than 'antiquey') and the person on the desk was very helpful, pool furniture needs replaced but other than that it is a nice place to stay, provided you know what to expect. It wasn't clear on the website about the lack of facilities so we were a little disappointed given it was our last night of the hols. Would have been better if we knew what to expect as it took away from the experience a fair bit. Decent place though.

Absolutely lovely and breathtaking chateau and I couldn't have found a better place for our 5 day, 4 night stay in Bordeaux. Comfortable, spacious and well-appointed room with views that I'll never forget. We loved being a bit outside of the city, yet close enough to get in and out very easily (with a car)... And just 20-30 minutes from St. Emillion and Margaux. We took full advantage of the spectacular grounds, borrowing the bikes, having many picnics overlooking the river and just soaking in the beauty that surrounded us. I recommend taking the bikes left off the property and riding to the golf course du lac and then exploring the nearby rose gardens/ floral parc- a pleasant surprise! The Concierge were very helpful and gracious, making reservations for wine tastings and at restaurants in Bordeaux. We didn't get a chance to get a boat ride to the city as with just two of us the cost would have been 120 Euros one-way... So best for a group with at least four people. The only "negative" was that there was a wedding both Friday night and Saturday night of our stay and not one person from the hotel thought to inform us of this. So when we came back on Friday after exploring wine country with plans to have a quiet river-front dinner (we picked up food in town), we realized our "picnic spot" was right in the middle of where cocktail hour was set up. Being a recent bride I felt awkward being there so moved our set up out of the way. It was all fine and always lovely to see a wedding, I just would have preferred that the hotel management informed us so we could have planned accordingly -- and had dinner in the city or nearby Blanquefort.
Regardless of this, I highly recommend staying here especially if you enjoy the peace of countryside with easy access to the city center, coast and of course, the Bordeaux wine country! Merci for a lovely stay!

Chateau Grattequina was a wonderful oasis just a short drive or boat ride away from the heart of Bordeaux. They are also very close to the Medoc wine region. I highly recommend this Chateau if you want a beautiful quiet place to stay while exploring the wine regions of Bordeaux.

Room tip: The river view rooms are slightly more money but well worth it.
