Lovely restaurant with quirky interior run by a mother and daughter team. First rate cooking using all local produce (there is a list showing where all the meat, vegetables, dairy produce and wines come from). Great fun and great value. They organise musical events several times a month too.

After two weeks camping in France this was our last night stay, we were low on clothes, it was raining and we were travelling with dog. The Loire valley is full of walkers, campers and cyclists in similar situations. Chez B et E had the perfect quirky ambience, old furniture, crazy wall paper, warm and friendly service..it attracted us all. The food choice, the presentation and the cooking were appalling. The only hot food was a pork chop dish, served with overcooked boiled potatoes and carrots, lumped in a basin plate; the pork was tough (I watched a woman opposite try to chew her way through it). How the same potatoes and carrots ended up in my chèvre chaud salad I don't know, the white slice bread toasted triangles my cheese had been melted on was ghastly. the jambon cru starter was 3 slices served with a triangle of ice cold butter and a sprig of parsley, the cream cheese desert was covered in thick apricot jam from the jar. my sad cut of tarte au pommel sat shrivelled on a plate unadorned by creme fraiche or a plop of vanilla ice-cream...Bistro like restaurants are needed in La Charitie for us travellers..hot stews, rognons au veau, a simple onglet and chips...little choice but home cooked quality is what we need..

A restaurant with a very relaxing atmosphere. Fine food for a good price. Nice outdoor seating, only to much noisy mopeds.

This Mom and Daughter team will go out of their way to make you fell welcome. They are very warm and freindly and the food is traditional and regional. If all you want is a quiche and salad while taking in the local musicians...this place is for you! Great food, good prices, eclectic decor...warm welcome...
