“Amazing breakfast, great views, warm welcome”
Reviewed September 12, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for one night during a cycling holiday and liked this place a lot.
The welcome was warm and efficient and the proprietor looked after us himself.
The room was cosy and really clean, in the new wing of the hotel which does not have perfect sound proofing (we could hear people walk around upstairs). Our room had a veranda with wonderful views over the Pyrenees.
Do you like your breakfast? You'll love the breakfast here - a big self-service buffet offering everything you could wish for (except English style cooked items), including CAKE!

We were following the 2013 Tour de France and chose this hotel because it was very close to the route for Stage 9 of the race. Our room was one floor above the lobby. Unfortunately the hotel did not have an elevator so we had to haul our luggage up a couple of flights of stairs. The room was very large with lots of space for our luggage and a window overlooking the driveway, entrance to the hotel and a bit of a view of the roadway above the hotel. The staff were great, very friendly and spoke English. The location was quite beautiful though there had been some very bad weather about 10 days prior to our arrival and flooding had cause the pool to fill with mud. The weather while we were there was lovely and not too hot so the lack of the pool was not an issue. We had access to the gardens which was very nice. There was a resident goat who was very friendly and I enjoyed a visit with him most evenings. The hotel was close to St Lary where there was a good variety of restaurants. We were also close to grocery stores which worked out well for our picnics. Overall I recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has access to the upper terrace.

This is a very nice hotel, especially for families with children. It has vast and safe grounds, and a nice pool (unheated, but great in the summer). The owner, Cathy, is extremely friendly and helpful, and our five-year old twin sons were allowed to share her little daughter´s outdoor toys. Cathy did everything she could to accomodate us, and we felt at home and very well looked after throughout our stay.
