My friends and I were guests at this beautiful B&B for 4 days. Andrea gave us information of the area and suggestions while his wife Giovanna baked home made cakes for our breakfast. The cleanliness of the place and the hospitality goes over and above. You don't have embroidered sheets in many B&Bs! Linens and china will impress any woman. Italian style. The view from the terrace overlooking the town of Scicli is one to remember. A day at the beach in October was a surprise as the weather was still mild and it was a short drive from the Loggia. During our tour of Sicily this was one of the best. Scicli has also become popular due to the Italian police series of "Montalbano".

Everything about this B&B is just perfect. The house is beautiful, the room and bathroom very comfortable and the owners are really charming people! We were served a fantastic breakfast on the veranda overlooking Scicli. It is also very convenient to visit the many interesting places nearby. A truly delightful experience! Highly recommended.

We were referred to this bed and breakfast by our travel agent here in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. She raved about the property and the owner, Andrea Tomasello. We were a little dubious until we stayed there for three days. Siscli is a picturesque, Sicilian town in south eastern Sicily not used to a lot of tourists.I wanted to visit this area and search out some interesting wineries. Andrea went out of his way to put me in touch with a friend who had a small winery as well as a very large winery of exceptional quality, Gulfi. Throughout our stay Andrea was a gracious host who went out of his way to provide a wonderful holiday in an area not used to tourists His English was impecable and the property and room were out of a decator magazine. Wonderful experience and tremendous service.

Loggia dell’Acanto is located on a slope overlooking Scicli and features a panoramic view of the city. Guests have very comfortable private rooms with bathrooms that are kept spotlessly clean. There is also a patio area for guest’s use. At breakfast we enjoyed the shared dining area which had great views of the town. The room is traditionally decorated has some interesting artifacts including a camera collection.

The setting and facility are only part of the story. What really sets Loggia dell’Acanto apart is the hospitality of our hosts Andrea and Maria. They went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. Somehow they knew how to make us feel welcome without being overbearing. One example is when we traveled to Siracusa to see a Greek tragedy. Andrea gave us detailed instructions and a map to the Greek theatre. As well he found an English synopsis of the play so that we would understand the plot.

I highly recommend Loggia dell’Acanto. It was a pleasure to stay there and felt like we were at home. It was the highlight of our Sicilian vacation.

Lovely setting, beautiful accommodations, great views, comfortable rooms, with many terraces for private relaxation. Our hosts were perfect, chatty, informative, urbane and sensitive to the times when one wanted to be alone. Reminded me of the the Grand Hotel in Cabourg (where Proust wrote and where I felt like a queen of deluxe) in charm and tone.

We had the place to ourselves but I imagine it would be as lovely when full up. We really enjoyed it and would go back in a heartbeat.
