The villa was really nice and neatly done with very nice views over the water. However there is no swimming beach and no restaurants nearby to go for food. The food is extremely expensive inside the hotel and not worth the money you pay. staff however are great and pool is nice but the website makes you think there is a swimming beach and we didn't go all that way to swim in a pool. i think aggie greys up the road has its own beach with snorkelling. maybe worth checking out?

I just returned from visiting LeVasa Resort for 5 days. The resort is a lovely place to relax and enjoy privacy. When I desired, cheerful and friendly company was available in the restaurant and by the pool. I had an amazing view from my fale, and housekeeping came daily. The last evening I was fortunate to see a performance by the staff that was quite special. It was very apparent to me that the owner has created a unique, family-like environment that is truly wonderful. I found the intimate setting of LeVasa Resort and the people that work there, to be charming and welcoming. I highly recommend this place for anyone!

Spent the last two weeks staying at Le Vasa Resort and had a great time once again. The staff were fantastic and thank you Soraya for your hospitality and making it feel like home. We have stayed here six times in the past 18 months and find this place hard to beat. Hot showers, good food, luxurious accommodation and friendly staff !! Loved to have our cocktails on our verandah over the water watching the beautiful sunsets.
Thanks again and we will be back.

Booked the whole resort out for 3 nights, so we were told we would have it to ourselves and so we our children were amongst family, on the first day there, outsiders had been let in to the restaurant, when we spoke to the owner, she kind of blew us off. The most expensive room was $1000WST (Samoan tala) which is very expensive, so we expected quality and great service.
Most rooms didnt have hot water, many of the rooms' toilets were blocked, air conditioing didnt work, power stopped working at times, the worst time being while my bridesmaids and I were getting ready for my wedding, so we were stinking hot. When we spoke to the owner about the dirty hammocks and plunge pool she blamed it on the rain, we blamed it on mould.
On our wedding night, bar staff were seen drinking, and the owner was seen drinking and stumbling later, it was extremely embarrasing for our family to see this as they we had all paid big money for the accomodation and wedding.
Later that night one of the drunk male staff inapropriately touched one of my bridesmaids legs, when asked to stop he got angry so my younger brother told him to bugger off to which the staff member replied "i'll punch you in the face". We have no idea why any of the satff were drinking around our wedding as it was our day.
The next day we told the owner and she tried to accuse my friend of flirting or being high.
No one from our family and friends would stay at this resort again and we would not reccomend it to anyone, the running of it was very unprofessional and the owner didnt seem to care about making she we had an enjoyable stay.
We have since talked to people around Samoa who have said they havent heard good things about the resort.
On a good note the setting is beautiful and the female workers were wonderful

Just returned from 11 days at Le Vasa Resort, Western Samoa, and had an absolutely, wonderful time. It’s difficult to name what makes Le Vasa’s so good...
- Could it be the staff? (I fell in love with all of them!) They are so happy, helpful, friendly and fun and are truly genuine and open-hearted people.
- Could it be the restaurant?– the food is as good as I’ve tasted anywhere and better than most
- The location? It was perfection itself – “to die for” views and just far enough away from hot and dusty Apia
- The accommodation? My fale was super comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean with great Samoan character, so that every morning when you open your eyes, you know you are waking up in paradise. I loved sitting on the verandah watching the fish literally jump out of the water just a few metres away.
As far as holiday destinations go, Samoa is tops in my book and Le Vasa is the ideal home away from home. It doesn’t have that rarefied, impersonal atmosphere of the typical westernised resort, that is the same wherever it may be in the world. It is more relaxed and personal with a true Samoan flavour.
I have never felt so welcome or so safe, where ever I went in Samoa and who ever I spoke to. The Samoan people are the friendliest, most considerate and most courteous people I have ever met on my travels. They welcome you into their lives and their hearts and are proud to help you experience the Samoan way of life. I have no doubts I will go there again and again.

After seeing the photos of Le Vasa depicting an amazing beach we had high expectations. However we were really disappointed that the beach was in fact unswimmable (it had some sort of gross sludge and we did not see one single person attempt to swim in it).

The owner has done a really great job of renovating the resort and the fales, and all the facilities are great. However...

The food (while good quality) was severely overpriced. This was a trend for all "extras", so much so that it would be a reason to not recommend staying at Le Vasa.

I must mention the amazing local staff who made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Thank you for your review and saying the owner has done a really great job of renovating the resort and the fales, and all the facilities are great. The food good quality. Remember most food is imported and we make most items out of scratch which involves more time, effort and cost. Purchasing goods are not cheap in Samoa. Thank you for mentioning that the local were amazing and made you feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. We do not say we have an excellent swimming beach and if you read previous reviews you would have been aware of this. We do however now have steps that go into the beach behind our monument for better swimming access. Thank you again for reviewing

* For those checking, the resort was spared from the Tsunami and the staff have done a fantastic job cleaning up and getting it back to normal.

** We rented a car for our whole stay so managed to get around quite a number of resorts, beach fales, restaurants etc. Therefore the following is as much a comparison as it is our experience of the resort.

Firstly the positives:
- Clean and very comfortable fales with air conditioning, free water each day, clean bathrooms and a nice deck. The housekeepers do a wonderful job of cleaning and are extremely friendly. Thanks Koreti and staff for looking after us!
- Very nice pool and deck. Had a great time swimming, relaxing and drinking cocktails by the pool.
- Nice cocktails, better than the beach fales we visited
- Nice view of the ocean
- Friendly staff, easy to deal with, went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. They happily and helpfully assisted us with all our queries and bookings, and very promptly too! It really made the difference, thanks!

Now for the only major negative:
- Food is delicious, but EXTREMELY overpriced (WST$55-70 / NZ$32-41 for a main, WST$35 / NZ$20 for two eggs, fruit and coffee). The problem is made worse as there are no other easy options around for eating. We fortunately had rented a car and so visited Apia and other resorts for dinner. The price difference for a similar meal at Apia can be up to 50% cheaper, or 25% cheaper at other resorts. However note there is nothing nearby. Apia is 40-50 minutes away, and the next nearest resort is Aggie Greys Resort which is only slightly cheaper. We also brought breakfast with us in the form of cereal/Up-and-Go.

Neutral (depends on if it's important to you or not) / Location notes to be aware of:
- The nearest swimming beach is a bike / car ride away.
- The nearest snorkelling is a 1+ hour car ride away, or requires a hired boat.
- Markets and purchasing your own fruit is a 50 min car ride to Apia away.

Overall a great stay and I would recommend the resort.
